[OPEN] a catch all
Who: Kisara and anyone!
Which: Open Log
Where: Around town
What: A catch-all for Kisara, event prompts and extras
Warnings: E for Everyone, to be changed as needed but pretty mild tbh
( I. hot pot - serenading the piggies )
[Ever in search for new ingredients and recipes to make - carrying on Shionne's legacy while she's gone, at least - Kisara had jumped on the truffle challenge. She's not shy of any danger, and experience at the ranch back home has her well prepared for a bit of pig wrangling! ...So she thought. Unfortunately partway in her partner in swine decides he's happier napping in the muck, so now she's on the edge of the path trying to coax him back.]
Come on, don't you want to find those tasty truffles?
[...Her pleas are left unacknowledged, unfortunately, so after a painful silence she sighs and starts humming some old kid's song from her childhood. Maybe it'll wake him up to play the way it did for her years ago.]
( II. dragon-sitting )
[Taking care of little kids? Sign Kisara the heck up. Even if said kids are actually baby dragons, that's fine. It adds a second layer of challenge to the task. She's at the dragon nursery, coaxing bite-sized morsels into the mouth of an especially precocious little dragonling. She's even trying to experiment with a bit of wind-based dreamotion to try and make it fly into the baby's mouth, which is… admittedly messy, but both she and the baby seem to be enjoying it.]
What's this? It's a zeugle, flying away! Best catch it before it escapes…
( wildcard: wishing well )
[Kisara is hanging out at the wishing well one unremarkable day when the skies are clear, leaning against the edge, rolling one of the baubles idly back and forth between her hands. She looks deep in thought, indecisive, a little sad. Maybe check in on her?
Alternatively, should you cross her path afterwards, one can find Kisara walking home from the wishing well area, carrying a small black cat in her arms and, by all appearances, trying hard not to cry.]

[Beatrix can remember easily when she came by to help dragons and how easily one got tangled up in her hair and trying to wrest it out was more trouble than it was worth. Folding her arms across her chest, she suspects there’s very little about her that screams children would really ever flock to her. Aside from a younger Princess Garnet, of course.]
That said, everything you share with me sounds so convenient. Likely due to your patience. I can say for certain I have not nearly as much as you do. Although I am inclined to appreciate that difference. It means I can leave the things I have no patience for to you.
[Meaning all future dragonlings and children she’ll be sending in Kisara’s direction.]
no subject
[Supply runs, carrying messages, building shelters, bringing toys, all manner of new paths to forge that might make life better for the little ones. She's sure that Beatrix, with her strength, would be put to work in some way if she's willing.]
no subject
[Or things she's never tried and is just assuming that she'll be no good with.]
I suppose my talents may simply lie elsewhere. That said, if you ever wind up with a plethora of children who desire some sword training, I suppose then I might be willing to practise a bit more... restraint. And patience.
no subject
[She gives one of the dragon's paws a little wiggle, but it only makes a curious chirp in between bites of its snack.]
Hmm, maybe not. You should give yourself more credit, though- I've seen you get pretty bold about trying new things since we met.
no subject
[Although the quiet laugh that leaves her is likely a combination of the imagery in tandem with Kisara's interactions. She makes it all look so easy. If anything, she makes everything look so easy. Beatrix envies that.]
I would not call it a lack of credit. Rather an analysis and deduction. I act largely with pragmatism in mind, including in moments when I may be required to 'try new things.' [Her head tips, knowing very well she's never too detached from her role.] One never knows when these things may be useful for the future. The ability to do things I ordinarily would not allows me to integrate. It also allows me to better understand those around me.
no subject
[It's still trying! The method doesn't detract from the action itself, at least in Kisara's book. Beatrix is doing well, and isn't nearly as stiff or unyielding as she thinks.]
no subject
A fair assessment. I think you may be paying me with too much kindness. If you say that too loudly, others may begin thinking that I am inclined to put effort into things for them, whether 'tis pragmatic for me or not.
[Just because Kisara gets special treatment does not imply Beatrix is going to give that same treatment to others, after all.]
no subject
[Even if she thinks Beatrix ought to be shouting her capabilities from the rooftops, she knows well that being good at something means there are bound to be people asking for help or guidance with it. It's fair that someone like Beatrix wouldn't want to be overly bothered just for being skilled in a given category.]
no subject
As if anyone would believe you if you spoke otherwise. I am ever apologetic to inform you that the reputation I have developed here does not imply I am not most charitable person. People would simply assume you were speaking of someone else.
[Beatrix leans over to get a better look at the dragon, lifting a hand to let it sniff at her if it pleases.]
Whereas Lady Kisara here wears her kindness on the outside, does she not? [Moving her gaze onto Kisara, Beatrix smiles.] You are going to wind up with a whole horde of dragons, you know.
no subject
[Kisara laughs, giving the dragon a reassuring scritch on the back scales to encourage it, but like a kitten it's hardly necessary. The little creature creeps up fearlessly to Beatrix and sniffs her hand, giving it an experimental lick to look for food.
Above the exchange, Kisara offers up a piece of the dried meat scraps she'd been feeding it with earlier, for Beatrix to offer out if she wishes.]
They're such fiercely loyal creatures, all community-based. If you make friends with a couple of dragons, you end up with an army of friends, it seems. I have to admire that.
no subject
Thank you.
[Her response is a touch muted, just a touch more gentle as she offers it to the dragon.]
Here you are, little one. Do be sure to tell all of your friends about Kisara's generosity.
[Because she's not forgotten that they are considerably more intelligent than she'd given them credit for. Lifting her gaze back to Kisara, Beatrix's smile grows.]
I can just see it now—you accompanied by no shortage of dragons. Just a plethora of them tailing after you. More than worthy winged protectors.
no subject
[She's trying not to laugh again. The mental image is too good- she, surrounded by a collection of fearsome friends with wings and scaled armor. It paints a much kinder picture than the standard Renan knight with a bunch of emotionless zeugle attack dogs.]
I'm glad that we've managed to find common ground with them, though. They've been very understanding.
no subject
All’s well that ends well, perhaps.]
That they have. Not all would have reacted in such a way. It would be a good idea to continue fostering these relations. They could assist with Reverein’s further development. Perhaps a relationship of joint protection could result in something like it.
no subject
I hope that's the case. Based on how things are going so far, I'm confident that we could be a lot of help to each other over time. Definitely if we give it a solid attempt.
[Very, very distantly-adjacent attempt to do a trial run on improving Dahnan/Renan relations? Maybe. At the very least she intends to learn a lot from how this goes.]
no subject
[How does Trahearne feel about all of this? His hatred for dragons had seemed so… visceral. She had thought she was a brutal woman. Maybe next to him, she is nothing.]
I doubt very much this will be the only time we are offering them assistance where we can either. Perhaps they will see fit to come down to Reverein and grace us with their presence from time to time.
no subject
[Bigger streets, sturdier roofs for landing and taking off... maybe if they only stick to visits, they won't have to do anything, but what if a number of them opt to move in? That would be a sight.]
no subject
[Another thing that could be decided upon by a council. By those perhaps designated with responsibility of community representative to outside cultures and people.]
Mind, not that I think any such thing will be happening in the very near future. It would be something worth considering. It would require some adjustments to be made for their convenience and comfort.
[Would that it could be easier to drum up interest in such community-like things. People, she thinks, may hesitate at the appearance of order, interpreting it, instead, as restraint.]
no subject
[It's an interesting thing to ponder. Really, she'd just love to see dragon neighbours. On average they're much more pleasant than the leprechauns.]
no subject
[Well, inevitable if they mean to continue down this little road of diplomacy that they've begun.]
It could be a good way of getting the residents to work together. Those who may have been here longer. Those who have only recently arrived. A good opportunity for Reverein residents to get to know one another as well. Perhaps we could arrange something with the Wild Harvest to provide food...
no subject
[Oh well, at least it'll keep them busy. She'd get frustrated if she ended up getting bored by too much relaxing. She suspects Beatrix would be in a similar pickle if there was nothing to occupy her besides R&R.]
no subject
[To no one's surprise, she likes the idea of having something to keep her occupied. Something something, idle hands make for mischief or however that saying tends to go. Plenty to think about. How would one go about putting all of that together? Probably talk with Susato and the rest of the restaurant and see what they think.]
If you have an interest in the cooking portion and you have not done this already, you should make a visit to the Wild Harvest. I cannot say I am familiar with everyone who works there, but Susato Mikotoba is a familiar face. She would be a good person to get to know.
[...Did she just volunteer Kisara for this? It's possible. But it's also just as possible that she's trying to encourage Kisara's interests in this place that don't necessarily have to be combat oriented. So Beatrix inserting herself in places where she doesn't need to be.]
no subject
I've met Susato, actually. She helped me find supplies for Zareh not long ago.
[She's been to Wild Harvest a couple of times as well, and she likes the look of the place. Good service and good food. She'll agree that it would be an excellent place to start if they want to consider catering to a dragon's taste.]
no subject
Oh—
[Zareh. She knows that name. Kisara made mention of her back when they... were actually cats themselves. Lionesses, really.]
She is here?
[Because evidently this is the first time she's considered someone could get a pet. She's well aware that the regain baubles are a thing, but... she's never used a single one of hers.]
no subject
[She wonders if it's a weakness, pleading for something from home. She hasn't even been here that long, comparatively. Still, after some experiences had made her think of him more, she'd wanted a piece of him closer to her side. His bracelet would have been less obvious. But Zareh knows her well, and has given her some of the affection she'd craved during her more vulnerable moments. She can't really regret her choice, weak or not.]
no subject
Good.
[Beatrix begins. For a moment, she considers leaving it there. What more can she say, after all? It is good. In some ways, perhaps it could be better if Kisara could have her brother here, but knowing that would be temporary, it possibly could only hurt her more.]
I hope you will introduce her to me. I would like to meet someone who clearly means so much to you.

I think we can fade for their afternoon fooding. (And hope that Beatrix makes a good impression.)
