What: Genshin cast meets up for dinner and a small party, chaos ensues

[The temperature dropped, snow started to fall and it seems like Reverein is preparing for some kind of holiday. Aether observes all of that with fascination and decides that this is a perfect moment to gather everyone for a dinner together. Surely, a meeting at such a time will help them all get along!

...Hopefully.

Every person from Teyvat will get an invitation as Aether gets to work, and when the day comes around, all invited will be welcomed by the traveler and lead inside to the living room.

All kinds of dishes can be found on the table and everyone should be able to find something they like. Apart from various specialities from Mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma, there are also Snezhnayan dishes, all thanks to a certain Harbinger who helped Aether prepare this feast. You can also find various drinks and teas to warm you up (likely a contribution from Diluc and Zhongli), though Aether did not foresee that a certain bard may be trying to add something to those drinks. Be careful not to get drunk!

Apart from food, you can warm up by the fireplace and there are also blankets stacked on the couch in case someone felt particularly cold today.

In the corner of the room there are many small boxes with bows, each one having a name tag. Apparently, this is a gift-giving season so the traveler felt the need to include that in his plans. The gifts are really not too much, many will find cookies and a colourful holiday card inside, but it's the thought that counts!

Sadly, not everything is planned. Aether could not expect that his house will be so inviting for Gumdrops. The small creature will float around, urging you to hug or kiss... or fight! Aether definitely does not like that last kind.]

[He recognizes that look. He's gotten that look plenty of times in the past, but it hardly bothers him. He knows that it's just an ordinary mushroom pirozhki, nothing sinister about it.]

C'mon, don't look at me like that. I'm really not trying to pull a fast one on you here.

[He really isn't!]

That is not the concern that I have.

[ Well okay. It's not the primary concern, all right? Rather, there's something else that sort of has Xiao on edge. ]

I do not eat in front of others.

[ Ah. There it is. ]

[He looks genuinely surprised. offering a mildly nervous laugh. He had no idea.]

Is that so? I can't say I've met too many people who get that uncomfortable simply eating around others. But far be it from me to tell you otherwise. You'll tell me how you've found it once you're finished though, yes?

[ Oh how his eyes narrow at that. Xiao knows that people, generally, do not hide from each other when they partake of a meal or a treat. However... There has been maybe one time in recent memory that he hasn't needed peace.

Maybe he's just uncomfortable with staring. ]

If it is a requirement...

Perhaps not so much a requirement as it is that I'd just like to know in case you like it. So it can be made again the same way, of course.

[But! If Xiao needs peace, he will give him the peace he wants to eat. The Harbinger turns to head towards the table, waving a hand.]

Let me know what you think, Conqueror of Demons. I'll be over here for the time being.

[He's going to get his own food now, because all this talk has made him hungry.]

[ Xiao eyes Childe warily. He doesn't really believe all of that, of course. Rather, he doesn't understand why someone who would be an enemy of Lyue ( sort of? ) would do that. All so that Xiao could have something else to eat in the future if they so wish to?

Augh. Humans. He's not sure that he'll understand them.

For now, though, he is going to munch of this portion of food. Xiao can hunt Childe down later. ]

[Childe goes to make up a small dish for himself, knowing full well that all the vodka he's going to drink tonight will make him pay tomorrow if he doesn't make sure he's eaten something. He's also not sure if Xiao will like the pirozhki, but then he doesn't really know what to expect from anyone's palettes here tonight given none of them are from Snezhnaya.

But he won't worry about it too much. He's not even counting on Xiao coming to find him when he's done anyway, prepared to enjoy the rest of his night socializing and trying to pick a fight with someone.]

[ It's not like he actually wants to hunt down Childe. But you know... He does have his honor. So he is going to look for the other even with all of the people that Aether had thought to invite.

And when he finds the Harbinger, he stands in front of him. Arms crossed and looking irritable. ]

[That wasn't the look he was hoping for.

Childe's eyebrows raise at Xiao's irritable look, wondering if he's fed the adeptus something that really offended his tastebuds.]

Well, at least that's a look I'm familiar with. Did I happen to serve you something not to your tastes?

[He really didn't mean to!]

[ Ah. His expression is... Not the one that he wants to have. Xiao sighs, even if it comes out as more of a irritated growl. Or close approximation of. ]

That's... Not what I came here to say.

[ Give him a moment, Fatui. This is hard enough as is. But add on that Childe came CLOSE TO DESTROYING LIYUE... And it's doubly hard. ]

My apologies.

[Now he wonders what he wants to say. Oooooo, is he going to get praised? He'd love that. Maybe that's why Xiao hasn't been able to spit it out yet.]

I shouldn't of made such assumptions. Go on, please.

[ Don't get carried away, Childe. There's no way that Xiao is going to say such a thing - be it true or otherwise. ]

The dish that was prepared? It was... Adequate.

[ The texture hadn't been too bad. Though Xiao might prefer something a little sweeter. ]

I'll take that praise.

[Of course, the Harbinger looks proud of this accomplishment. He wasn't sure if Xiao would like it at all, but he's also very confident in his cooking skills- and being able to make something even a legendary adeptus accepts is a win in his book.]

I'll make sure the next dish I serve you exceeds your standards, so much so that you won't be able to help but to love it.

[Even if he won't admit it!]

[ He can't believe this. Absolutely can't believe that he is standing here before this Harbinger. Talking about the food that the man has created.

Put him out of his misery. Please. ]

There is no need to go to such lengths.

[ Don't make this a challenge... Xiao doesn't know if he can handle being so sociable. ]

[Xiao you don't know him very well do you]

Oh, but I insist. Cooking too, can be a considered a kind of battle...and there's nothing more exciting than the thrill of combat. I'll be doing my research for next time.

[Ask Aether what Xiao likes and make a dish to suit that, perfect idea.]

Next time?

[ As in... This isn't going to be the only moment? Childe is going to be seeking him out? For this?

Wh... ]

Oh, yes. Did you think there wasn't going to be a next time?

[Xiao, what do you take him for.]

Learning from every experience is the only way to truly grow in all aspects of life...even if it's something as simple as making a dish. I'd encourage you too, to prepare something and see who's dish comes out on top.

[ And this is why he doesn't get involved with people! He'd would much rather brawl or something like that. But this world might not be able to handle too much of that.

Augh. Aether... Why do you attract people like you do? ]

Creating a meal that costs more time spent in preparation than in consumption is not a skill I possess.
