[The idea came to Beat because of the amount of snow that began building up over the last week. While he had been skateboarding for as long as he could remember, he never had an opportunity to give snowboarding a shot. What started as an off-handed comment became reality when he learned that Eustace knew how to snowboard himself. Not having expected that answer from the older man, Beat just knew that he had to see this for himself.

After acquiring the gear, they found a suitable spot by a number of hills close to the farmlands. The snow blanketed the fields, devoid of crops unable to withstand the icy temperatures, making it the prime spot for what the two had planned for the day.]

Good to know that you know how to kick back. Was startin' to think you didn't have any hobbies or nothin', yo.

[Beat is without his headphones today, replaced by a slouchy, black beanie with a skull print on it, hair still peeking underneath to cover his face.]

[How did he get here... As Eustace looks over snow covered hills, he briefly recalls the strange turn in their conversation and can only glance at Beat.]

I have a few... Though I wouldn't consider snowboarding a hobby since I haven't done it in a while. I would say it was more of a necessity...

[...Though he can't deny that he does enjoy it the few times he has to. Not to mention the childhood memories...]

Huh? How's snowboardin' a necessary?

[You heard that right. But he can't wrap his head around that. There's gotta be something else Eustace wasn't telling him.]

Ain't it just some kinda sport where you's from?

[By this time, they're almost to the top of the hill. Though there were smaller choices, Beat immediately chose to go for one of the taller ones, hoping that what he knew about skateboarding would carry over to this.]

[Just a slight look before he continues.]

And except for when kids are playing around, not really. For those who live up in the mountains, knowing how to get down the slopes is important. Sledding, skiing, snowboarding... Just the most common ways to get down quickly. Some do use them as recreation, but I haven't heard of it being some kind of sport.

Huh. So you sayin' you used to live up top where you from? All that sounds like a fun way to get down if ya ask me.

[You learn something new every day. But there's an immediate shift in his tone, as he barely holds back a chuckle.]

But I'm still havin' a hard time picturin' ya doing it, Wolfie. You got the gear an' all but it kinda looks like you's just gonna be modelin' it.

Not quite at the top... We were more in the valley, but the mountains were not too far and we were still hills around us.

[He reminisces for a moment before he looks at the snowboard in his hands and then at Beat with an arched brow.]

Do I look like someone who would just "model" anything?

[C'mon, Beat. That would be a waste of his time—]

[Beat had been joking around about the model comment and though he was going to ask more about the snowboarding, the surprise on his face is apparent. With a raised brow, he slowly turns towards Eustace.]

Hold up. Jus' model anything?

[And then there's a slight pause as a memory of a distant time in another distant world comes to mind.

[Just a quiet mutter under his breath as he thinks.]

[There's an actual sigh that escapes him. Okay. Oh god. All is right in the world.]

[But wait, why is he mumbling to himself.]

[A quick, immediate answer. Perhaps...too quick. A frown settles on his features for a moment before he uses his main move.

Start walking away. In this case higher up the hill.




He definitely thought of something and is definitely trying to ignore it. They were here for snowboarding, right? Right.]

He's immediately going after Eustace, running ahead of him to block his way.]

Seriously? You can't leave me hangin', yo!

[Going to try and move around him.]

[Sorry, Eustace. Beat might be a little too fast for you because every time you try to get around him, he quickly adjusts to block your way.]
