Amidst the whispers carried by the winds of resilience and hope, news spreads like wildfire— The Story Eater's assault is over! And in the face of adversity, the desire to take a moment to unwind, celebrate, and cherish the joys of life remains steadfast. It is a time to honor pride, love, and the freedom to embrace one's true self, embracing the spectrum of experiences that make each person unique.

Thanks to the passion and imagination of a few local dreamers, an invitation is extended to all, beckoning them to partake in a joyous communal pride picnic! And a break from the recovery efforts! It doesn't matter how the information reaches your ears, everyone is welcome to join in the celebration (and shirts are optional)!


The picnic area has become a haven of delectable treats and refreshing beverages, generously contributed by the locals like Link and Susato, and with your own delightful additions. A mouthwatering spread awaits, showcasing an array of snacks to satisfy. Platters adorned with an abundance of fresh fruits and crisp vegetables tempt the health-conscious, while the irresistible allure of frozen yogurt and rainbow popsicles beckons those seeking a cool, sweet indulgence. The tantalizing aroma of sizzling burgers and hot dogs from the grill fills the air, accompanied by the delightful crunch of kettle-cooked chips. Amidst the feast, one can't help but notice the adorable bunny buns, a whimsical and delicious delight to be shared.


To quench thirst and perhaps discover a touch of destiny, the crowd can partake in the special paopu fruit drink, aptly named Destiny's Embrace. A rumored connection awaits those who share this beverage, a fateful bond that could endure forever. A note reads, "If two people share a drink, their destinies become intertwined. They'll remain a part of each other's lives no matter what." Thanks can be given to The Harvest for this addition!

Furthermore, at the heart of the picnic spot, a grand crockpot awaits, promising a nostalgic group cookout experience. A medley of savory things simmer and bubble, enticing all to come together and savor the communal flavors. Be sure to eat a lot!

Scattered around are a delightful assortment of water guns, just waiting to be claimed. Each one holds a different hue of glitter water, promising moments of splashing and drenching among all. It's a tempting invitation to engage in a spirited water fight, where participants will inevitably be adorned with vibrant stains. The challenge arises: who will emerge from the contest with the most vivid array of colors splashed upon them, or perhaps even daringly strive for the fewest? Don’t worry the colorful water will likely wash out. Enjoy the excitement of some impending watery escapades!

There are a couple of things to be careful of. There seems to be a unique creature galloping around the picnic area. You might be minding your own business when a horse of some sort might nudge you from behind. It’s probably harmless. But also steer clear of any dangerously looking purple goop that might be nearby as well! What happens when you touch it? Well... Maybe just don’t touch the forbidden calamity jammity. It’s for your own good.

Strewn across various picnic blankets are a myriad of icebreaker games, waiting to be embraced by brave (or not-so-brave) participants. Join in the laughter and camaraderie as you engage in timeless classics like "Never Have I Ever" or the intriguing challenge of unravelling "Two Truths and a Lie." Whether you find yourself seated beside an old friend or a newfound acquaintance from distant lands, these games offer a delightful opportunity to uncover shared experiences, discover hidden tales, and forge new bonds. Don't be shy, for the joy lies in the discovery of commonalities and the celebration of unique perspectives (and getting a date).

For those who prefer a more artistic expression of connection, Gen offers a palette of vibrant face paints. [He huffs out a breath, annoyed at himself.]

You're not wearing a shirt. I'm... not ... used to guys without shirts.

[Espeically men who were... well, built like a god. Most gods he knew didn't go shirtless anymore, either.]

Huh. [ It's really not much less than he already wears on a daily basis, but everyone can blame Venti for Asura's state of dress today since the guy had insisted. ]

If it's a problem, I'll put one on.

[Nico shakes his head, looks at him, and looks away, face burning.]

It's fine. I just... I need to get used to it. It's more common in the decade I live in now... so. Yeah.

[ So many different hangups in so many different worlds, it seems. Asura gives a big shrug and resumes his burger-grilling, but he'll happily continue chatting since there aren't many people lined up for his food. ]

Humans fret a lot about things like decency or propriety. The need for this kind of celebration in the first place is proof of that.

... Yeah, I guess.

[He opens his eyes and takes a peek because he wants to look like that one day. Probably won't because, based on his father's default form, he'll be lean for the rest of his life.]

It's, uh, kinda a modern thing? Like... last few centuries. It comes and goes. The time when my Gods held power, they went around in less than what you're wearing.

[abyssbound]

[ He doesn't mind if Nico looks--Asura would hardly be self-conscious about showing skin even if it hadn't been a cultural norm for his homeland. He gives a small nod in response to Nico's words, because that seems to be a shared experience between their worlds. ]

The weather in my waking world is always springlike, so people dress lightly, if at all. Most of us don't think about it all that much.

If at all?

[Nico's face goes even pinker at the thought... but there were plenty of naked statues of the gods around to show they did the same if they could away with it.]

Ah... well, one of our most important heroes was nicknamed 'black bottom' because he ... went around naked and was very tan.

Hah! [ Congratulations, Nico, you actually managed to make Asura laugh out loud with that one. The kid had seemed so morose up until this point that he hadn't been expecting that, and it had caught him enough off-guard that he couldn't stop the bark of laughter that escaped from him. ]

Then it sounds like your world has some interesting stories.

It has many stories. I know a lot about my people, but not as many that belong to other cultures. It'll be nice to know more though.

[He feels pretty good about getting this man to laugh though.]

A story for a story, then. How does that sound? [ Asura has some time between customers and isn't really taking part in most of the festivities here. Swapping stories could be a decent enough way to kill time. ]
