Note: After Aug 16th, Kazuma will have revert back to his canon appearance temporarily as he's getting canon updated. Noticeable difference is he looks a little younger (He's back to 24 instead of 27ish), no more ponytail and has only one sword on his side instead of two.

A. Working around the Wild Harvest

I. The Restaurant
[The smell of deliciously seasoned meat on the grill is probably the first thing one would experience upon arriving to the Wild Harvest. Kazuma is working the grill when he's not waiting tables or making drinks. There seems to be a noticeable lack of chicken getting grilled though. Fang was sitting idly nearby, occasionally offering a little spark to keep the fires going. He wipes the sweat from his brow with the towel he had sitting around his shoulder. It is hot today. Even when he's down to a tank top, it's not enough to beat the heat. Though maybe it would help if he wasn't working the grill. You can catch him grilling something possibly for you, or taking a seat nearby to cool off, doused in water, getting his drink, which he could probably use a refill.]

II. The Garden
[The plants have gotten a bit wild with all the rain and sun they've been getting. So it's time to do a bit of trimming. Some of the plantlife seem to be a little rebellous, actually shifting to avoid his clippers. Huh, when did the plants come alive in their garden...?]

There we go. [A few snakes hiss, tongues flicking as Kazuma dumps some overgrown plants into a bucket. Looks like a handful of herbs and weeds were covering up one of the nesting space the snakes had made.]

Want to give me a hand? [He offers a pair of garden clippers to anyone who happens by and observing.]

B. The Frog and the Snake
[Kazuma has become a bit of a snake whisperer during his time here in Reverein. So it seem only natural for him to look into a request from...a frog? Can't be Ryunosuke trapped as a frog again, is it?

Well there is a snake involved that's keeping the frog from crossing the lake apparently. He won't be out there alone, his trusty noodle dragon steed Fang was at his side, along with whomever else was out here to investigate the incident. One might spot a little garden snake curled up around his neck while he's trying to negotiate between the frog and the snake.

If not that, he'll be an extra hand to help.]

You shall not, passssss

[The giant snake hisses menancingly at the new challengers. It's back half was partially submerged in the water, while it's head was rearing up at them, preparing to strike. The frog, hopping about, unable to find an opening to get across. What did he hire you people for?!]

Well, I appreciate that you decided to drop in. [He raises his hand, conjuring a small flame to get the grill going again. At the sound of something being cooked, a few small spice and garnish noodle dragons descend from the plants above with curiosity.]

Have you tried any of the other eateries around?

Not really. Force of habit. [ Man, what a weird twist of fate though. If things hadn't happened like they did, he'd totally be about convenience foods all the time. ]

There's a catharsis to cooking my own meals and snacks. It's something Gen and I do together. I did taste a few things when people give out samples though.

Hm, I know someone like that. [A quick glance towards the kitchen where a certain old man is probably having a toot while preparing meals for others.]

Any particular meal you like to make?

Ramen is my specialty, by far, but I've also done a decent amount of baking, and things like sushi came along again recently and Gen seems to like that.

[ Sometimes he cooks just to make his partner something he likes. ]

Is that so...? [Ramen and sushi, two things he's familiar with.] Have you or Gen ever heard of a place called Japan?

That's correct, I have. I grew up in Tokyo. [ Senku confirms. ]

Japan in our time is no longer the full island, it's fractured into two countries and I live in the Kingdom of Science now, but it's still where Japan was, if that helps give you an idea. Including where Tokyo was.

Two...two countries? [Hold on, what?] What happened, if I may ask?

The excessively short version is that civilization collapsed without human influence and the land itself changed and returned back to zero, so to speak. So those political structures were no longer in place. The old government was unwilling to just yield to the current government and so they were offered the portion of the country we had yet to do anything with.

[ It had been a bit of a strange thing, in the end, but they managed. ]

The collapse of civilization... [Hard to imagine happening to his homeland. Sounded like something doomsayers would spread. Then again...is it that hard to believe as a possibility with Great Britain nearly taking over Japan?

He lifts some kushiyaki he was grilling, setting it aside as he preps another.]

What's life like back home for you? Is there conflict with the other kingdom?

Mm, thousands of years ago. Misguided alien artificial intelligence that couldn't understand how humans functioned and assumed that what they were doing was helping us. [ They just weren't technologically advanced enough, in the end, to deal with the repercussions of the petrification. ]

No, no conflict with any nation. Granted, I expect over time that will come to be. At the moment the world is in recovery still on a global scale. Technologically speaking it's a little uneven, but we've been back to space, yet don't have running water in the majority of places. [ He shrugs, they're working on it. It's a whole thing. ]

I'm not sure Japan would make an issue of it. Probably not. They'll have the grace to wait for me to die first.

...Alien artificial intelligence. [He heard him, but it's not fully processing in his head. Too advance for his time, but he gathers some foreign entity caused the fall.]

Seems like priorities aren't where they should be in places. [What does going to space achieve?]

It could seem that way, but to drive off the aliens, the space race was required. Now that they've departed and can't continue their attack on a loop, we can go back and catch up the parts that aren't there yet.

[ It's a complicated matter, but it's interesting at least to Senku. ]

...From space. I understand now. [He's too busy worrying about other nations and this guy is talking about creatures from space attacking them. Two different times and worlds apart.]

I see why cooking for yourself is a necessary skill then. [He sets another kushiyaki onto a plate. The spice and garnish noodle dragons float toward him, putting on the last bit of seasoning.] Here, I'm sure you've had something like this back home. [A little appetizer while waiting on the main course.]

Turned out that way, yes. I doubt I would've wound up nearly so proficient if things hadn't happened as they did. [ Senku smiles and accepts the plate. ]

Thanks. I have. [ Quite a bit, skewers are quick and popular. He picks it up and takes a bite. ]

[He'll do a quick wipe down of the grill for the time being.] How is it? Sometimes the spice and garnish dragons like to over season things. [A few of the noodle dragons huff. No they don't!]

Your meal should be ready soon.

I'm not that discerning, but the seasoning is reasonable. [ If it's bad he'd still eat it. Senku does not waste food. ]

It's very good.

[A smile.] Glad to hear it. It's one of the few things I can cook. [Better to leave it to those who cook on the regular. He hears a bell and after bowing, excuses himself so he can return with what appeared to be a pie for one]

One of our specials for this month, tomato pie. [A savory dish with peppers, herbs, and cheese mixed in with the tomatoes of course.]

It looks good. I can honestly say I haven't had a tomato pie before.

[ Senku picks up a fork and carefully breaks off a bite to have a taste. It's rich, much richer than he's expecting. That's not bad, but he can tell it's going to be heavy, and likely has a lot of cream and cheese in it. ]

That's really different.

Definitely nothing I've ever had, but it's hearty and filling. If you ever meet someone name Solanaceae, you'll have to give them thanks for the suggestion.

Actually, now that you mention their name, I believe we've met before. I will do that.

[ Thinking about it, he hasn't seen Solanaceae in awhile. ]

It's very interesting to say the least, and quite heavy. I might not be able to eat it all, but it's alright. I can bring the rest to my partner. I'm sure he'd enjoy it.

Gen right? Bring him by next time. I'll put in a request to prepare something that remind us of home. [Things may play out drastically different, but the food is still the same.]

That's right. I'm sure he has a reputation. [ Of being a pain in the ass. ]

He'd appreciate it. However he is a fan of sweet things. Just something to suggest.

Sweets, I'll keep that in mind. And don't worry, we know how to handle the more....engaging customers. [Trying to be polite and not just outright say troublemakers.]

I'm sure he reserves that behaviour for me, but don't worry. He'll be on his best behaviour. [ Or else Senku will elbow him. ]
