Note: After Aug 16th, Kazuma will have revert back to his canon appearance temporarily as he's getting canon updated. Noticeable difference is he looks a little younger (He's back to 24 instead of 27ish), no more ponytail and has only one sword on his side instead of two.

A. Working around the Wild Harvest

I. The Restaurant
[The smell of deliciously seasoned meat on the grill is probably the first thing one would experience upon arriving to the Wild Harvest. Kazuma is working the grill when he's not waiting tables or making drinks. There seems to be a noticeable lack of chicken getting grilled though. Fang was sitting idly nearby, occasionally offering a little spark to keep the fires going. He wipes the sweat from his brow with the towel he had sitting around his shoulder. It is hot today. Even when he's down to a tank top, it's not enough to beat the heat. Though maybe it would help if he wasn't working the grill. You can catch him grilling something possibly for you, or taking a seat nearby to cool off, doused in water, getting his drink, which he could probably use a refill.]

II. The Garden
[The plants have gotten a bit wild with all the rain and sun they've been getting. So it's time to do a bit of trimming. Some of the plantlife seem to be a little rebellous, actually shifting to avoid his clippers. Huh, when did the plants come alive in their garden...?]

There we go. [A few snakes hiss, tongues flicking as Kazuma dumps some overgrown plants into a bucket. Looks like a handful of herbs and weeds were covering up one of the nesting space the snakes had made.]

Want to give me a hand? [He offers a pair of garden clippers to anyone who happens by and observing.]

B. The Frog and the Snake
[Kazuma has become a bit of a snake whisperer during his time here in Reverein. So it seem only natural for him to look into a request from...a frog? Can't be Ryunosuke trapped as a frog again, is it?

Well there is a snake involved that's keeping the frog from crossing the lake apparently. He won't be out there alone, his trusty noodle dragon steed Fang was at his side, along with whomever else was out here to investigate the incident. One might spot a little garden snake curled up around his neck while he's trying to negotiate between the frog and the snake.

If not that, he'll be an extra hand to help.]

You shall not, passssss

[The giant snake hisses menancingly at the new challengers. It's back half was partially submerged in the water, while it's head was rearing up at them, preparing to strike. The frog, hopping about, unable to find an opening to get across. What did he hire you people for?!]

[ Well, at least a ride across the lake isn't a kiss. And no, she can say for certain that it isn't Mr Naruhodo this time. While Aura makes herself comfortable at Kazuma's neck and Fang takes up his other side, Susato carries the frog in her open palm.

She expected resistance, of course, though she didn't expect the snake to be quite so huge. ]

Why not, Mr Snake? We, We come in peace, after all. [ Well, most of them... They're just trying to help. ]

[The giant snake can clearly see and sense some kindred spirits among them, but he still gave a wary hiss.]

Vermin must sstay. [Glaring at the oh so innocent frog. The frog merely ribbits indignantly. What has it ever done to it???]

It appears you're not allowed to cross. Why must you cross in the first place?

[ Well, that wasn't as informative as she'd hoped. Still, Kazuma's question is a good one, and Susato finds herself bringing up her hand to take a good look at the frog, as if trying to catch it in a lie. Why is it so important to him?

The indignant ribbit becomes a more nervous one. Either he hadn't expected them to ask, and he must now make something up, or...

Or perhaps it's something difficult to talk about. ]

My... My family. I must get back to my family. The young dreamer who was supposed to take me back... She is gone.

Gone?

[ Susato can feel her heartstrings being tugged at the very idea of being separated from family, but the snake just scoffs, like he's heard that one before. ]

[chippedsoul]

[He's listening, even if he doesn't answer right away.]

You need her to cross...? [He could see the snake is not convinced by this.]

There'ssss no family. He speaksss liesss. [Fang chirps warily, not sure who to believe. Aura isn't much help either, simply seeing the frog as a tasty snack.]

Can you describe your family? Anything that could convince this serpent to let you pass?

[ Did such a wayward dreamer exist? Did it matter? It's hard to tell what the frog is thinking, but it seems to have touched a nerve with the idea of family, so he appears to go along with it. Susato listens intently as he turns on the Actor Charm^TM. ]

There is! Just because this one thinks of us as nothing more than tasty morsels does not mean they don't exist. My brother... The one who always wears a crown atop his head...

He is looking after my children. They are waiting for me.

A frog who... wears a crown? You mean— [ She remembers a frog like that! ]

[chippedsoul]

The one who tried to get a kiss from an unsuspecting woman? [That might not be what Susato was going to say, but he's going to finish her sentence.]

As I recall, I don't think he was ever actually a prince he claimed he was. [Which puts this frog's story into question. He glances up at the giant snake.]

Would you at least let his family cross to this side? [The snake hums in thought. Eventually, there's a nod. Was that an amused grin on it's face?]

[judicialassistant]

[ The frog visibly recoils like he's been injured at Kazuma's accusation, and the following suggestion as well as the snake's eventual, unnerving grin do not help matters. The hesitation is plain on the frog's face, and Susato tilts her head.

The frog is taking too long, isn't he? ]

Well, you see... They're... They're very hard to find. They won't... um—

Mr Snake is right, isn't he? Why are you really trying to cross?

[ Senku's looking for something to eat, not that strange maybe. He could certainly make his own, but why not have a treat for a change?

He comes in and grabs a seat and when he catches attention he'll wave a bit. ]

I'll have whatever your special is.

[ Hopefully he won't regret that. ]

[chippedsoul]

[As he sets his towel back around his shoulders, he notice someone waving him down and he walks over.]

We have a few specials available. Do you have any preference, or would you like it to be a surprise?

A surprise is fine. I'm not that picky, although I don't really care for sweets.

[ But even if he was presented with cake, he'd still eat it. ]

[chippedsoul]

Don't have much of a sweet tooth? I'm the same way. [he glances at the grill for a moment, thinking.] All right, I think I know what to get you. Please give it some time for us to prepare it.

[He bows his head slightly as he walks away to put in an order to the kitchen. He'll return with a pitcher filled with water to offer the guest a glass of water.] So what's your name?

Thanks. [ He grins a bit and lets him put the request in. He's patient. ]

I'm Senku. [ That's it, that's his introduction. He almost never uses his full name. ]

[chippedsoul]

[He's not going to judge, being someone who usually gets to the point himself.] Kazuma. A pleasure meeting your acquaintance.

[He's going to move back towards the grill.] You been here before? [Even as the co-owner, he doesn't always meet everyone who comes through the restaurant. Always handling whatever task is needed at the time.]

[The Wild Harvest is always good for a meal, but the garden catches Toge's eye. A little-known fact about him, but he likes the simple act of gardening; it's pretty calming in its own way, and the plants don't expect him to talk as he works. Walking through the garden is pretty nice, especially since the herbs have a nice smell to them.]

[The hissing catches him off-guard, and when he looks over he notices a familiar face pruning the herbs.]

Kombu.

[He blinks as the clippers are offered, before nodding and accepting them.]

Salmon.

[Why not do a little weeding?]

[Little beady snake eyes are watching the newcomer from the brushes. They won't attack, not when Kazuma doesn't feel threaten. He smiles, seeing who was joining him. Once Toge takes the clippers, he sets his down and starts making gestures with his hands. "How are you?"

His signing is a bit stiff and awkward, but he wanted to practice a little and show what he remembers.]

[fishflakes]

[Toge's expression brightens as he sees the hand gestures. Even stiff, Toge's proud that Kazuma's been practicing. He lowers the clippers so he can free his hand to sign back.]

I'm good. How are you?

[chippedsoul]

[...How to describe it's been a time?] Well. Good enough. [A garden snake pokes her head out from the brush nearest to Toge, curious.]

Sorry, that I haven't been able to come by for more lessons as of late. [He's going to switch back to talking for ease.] Been a bit busy around the restaurant, but everything is mostly repaired after what happened with the Story Eater incident.

[fishflakes]

[It's ok; the fact he tried was more than enough for him. Toge nods in understanding to Kazuma, then blinks as he notices the little snake. Hello there... he holds out a hand for it while keeping an eye on Kazuma.]

Mustard leaf?

[He can't sign or write right now, with the snake poking at his hand, but he hopes his inquiry is somewhat clear. Was things okay?]

[chippedsoul]

[The little snake backs up for a moment, tongue flicking curiously at the hand.]

...Could have been worse. Mind if I ask if anything happen to you? [While they talk, the snake gradually comes closer to Toge's hand again, tongue flicking his finger. He seems ok.....]

[ He's been snooping around the garden for a flower his supplier needs for one of his potions. When he first entered the garden, some of the snakes made a commotion, recognizing his scent. They didn't strike at him, and Zero, in turn, avoided the areas that made a ruckus. He nodded once to the gardener when he came in, keeping an eye on him, but he seemed fine with the snakes.

He made one pass through the garden with no luck, and covers the area a second time to make sure he didn't miss the flower he's after when he gets called over. He stops, turns his head in the direction of the call, and after a moment, nods, heading over. ]

What do you need?

[chippedsoul]

[The snakes brings his attention to the guest who seems to be in search of something in the garden. Some seem apprehensive about this individual, but Kazuma tries to assure them not to worry. They haven't exactly done anything, though he's curious as to what Zero was searching for.

Calling them over to help seem like a good opportunity to check in.]

You see all that overgrowth above this nest? [He pulls back a bit of shrubbery, revealing a sea of weeds, vines and other plant life, all tangled up together.] I could use a hand getting it clipped down to something more managable, and an easier time for the snakes to come to and from their home.

[ Nest. So, they're not here by mistake. And he doubts they're pets, either.

He looks up at the so-called 'nest' and frowns. ]

You're housing them?

[chippedsoul]

...That's right. [A few let out some low hiss. No striking, just wary garden snakes.]

They just wandered into the garden one day, and we've been caring for them.

[ Zero ignores them. He's been menaced by worse. ]

What do they eat?

Insects mostly. Helps keep the garden pest population down. [...] Are they bothering you?
