[Open] Entry 007
Who: Kazuma Asogi and anyone else!
Which: Log/Open
Where: Wherever the prompts takes us
What: Catch-all for August
Warnings: N/A
Note: After Aug 16th, Kazuma will have revert back to his canon appearance temporarily as he's getting canon updated. Noticeable difference is he looks a little younger (He's back to 24 instead of 27ish), no more ponytail and has only one sword on his side instead of two.
A. Working around the Wild Harvest
I. The Restaurant
[The smell of deliciously seasoned meat on the grill is probably the first thing one would experience upon arriving to the Wild Harvest. Kazuma is working the grill when he's not waiting tables or making drinks. There seems to be a noticeable lack of chicken getting grilled though. Fang was sitting idly nearby, occasionally offering a little spark to keep the fires going. He wipes the sweat from his brow with the towel he had sitting around his shoulder. It is hot today. Even when he's down to a tank top, it's not enough to beat the heat. Though maybe it would help if he wasn't working the grill. You can catch him grilling something possibly for you, or taking a seat nearby to cool off, doused in water, getting his drink, which he could probably use a refill.]
II. The Garden
[The plants have gotten a bit wild with all the rain and sun they've been getting. So it's time to do a bit of trimming. Some of the plantlife seem to be a little rebellous, actually shifting to avoid his clippers. Huh, when did the plants come alive in their garden...?]
There we go. [A few snakes hiss, tongues flicking as Kazuma dumps some overgrown plants into a bucket. Looks like a handful of herbs and weeds were covering up one of the nesting space the snakes had made.]
Want to give me a hand? [He offers a pair of garden clippers to anyone who happens by and observing.]
B. The Frog and the Snake
[Kazuma has become a bit of a snake whisperer during his time here in Reverein. So it seem only natural for him to look into a request from...a frog? Can't be Ryunosuke trapped as a frog again, is it?
Well there is a snake involved that's keeping the frog from crossing the lake apparently. He won't be out there alone, his trusty noodle dragon steed Fang was at his side, along with whomever else was out here to investigate the incident. One might spot a little garden snake curled up around his neck while he's trying to negotiate between the frog and the snake.
If not that, he'll be an extra hand to help.]
You shall not, passssss
[The giant snake hisses menancingly at the new challengers. It's back half was partially submerged in the water, while it's head was rearing up at them, preparing to strike. The frog, hopping about, unable to find an opening to get across. What did he hire you people for?!]

Susato's smile lingers, and the frog looks even smaller on Fang's back than he did in either of their hands. It watches them as they discuss its casual demise, and then as they start to strategize, as if just waiting for them to leave. ]
Yes, that is an excellent idea! [ She seems pretty confident. Their dreamotion has come a long way. ] If we cannot bring the water to the flames, we can at least try bringing the flames to the water. We should let Mr Snake know of our plans, though.
[ The edge of the lake is still a ways behind them. ]
...And where should we start?
no subject
We're splitting our group to cover more ground. Feel free to eat the frog if he goes astray. [What if he just eats him anyway? The large serpent nods, his attention on Fang's animal crew now.]
no subject
Meanwhile, Susato follows the sound of flames. When she gets close, she finds herself holding out a hand protectively out of instinct in the case of stray sparks or flames. ]
Be careful, Kazuma. [ She glances back to make sure he is following. ]
no subject
Think we could try our luck controlling the smoke?
no subject
There is one thing I can try. Hang on—
[ She holds out her hand to indicate that they should stop a moment. To do this, she'll have to breathe in the smoke for a little while, but she just has to remember how. How she felt. The determination to save Tifa that night. The way they kissed, their passion that distracted Eustace...
The opening she needed. The shattering of glass.
She's almost there, but she starts coughing again. ]
no subject
[He's coughing slightly from the smoke as well. They probably should have come more prepared for this.]
no subject
First breath, which is cut short by the smoke. She fans the immediate area in front of her face.
Second breath, which is a little better.
The third breath is not a breath at all, but rather comes out as a small cyclone that twists, sending a swirling wind blowing through the air. The smoke is cleared for now, buying them some time, and a layer of dirt has been jostled beneath them on the forest floor, revealing... something white.
Susato can see it, but she falls back against Kazuma to catch her breath. ]
no subject
You did it, whatever it was that you did. [The strange whiteness beneath the ground will have to wait. He needs to take advantage of the opportunity given to him by Susato.] Will you be all right here?
no subject
I am fine. I'm with you. [ Sure doesn't sound like she's giving him a chance to let her hang back. ] Something is buried there.
no subject
[Taking a deep breath, he moves ahead of her anyway. He could see some stray flames on the trees and ground. What if he just...scoops them up in his hand? He manages to take the flames off a nearby tree. It doesn't touch his skin, just hovering above his palm.]
no subject
Susato's gaze does linger on it, but when she sees up scoops up the flame, she closes her fist, giving a determined look. Should they scatter their efforts to try to keep things contained...? For the moment, she'll build off what she's seen him do. She'll aim a little higher, moving over to the next tree while aiming a little higher. She reaches up with her hand, as if to reach the flame overhead and call it to her.
It, too, travels to her palm like a magnet, hovering. ]
...Rather than using the lake water, I wonder if we can just...
[ She stares. It's actually quite beautiful in the right hands, isn't it? But she suddenly claps her hands together, and the flame disappears in a puff of smoke. ]
no subject
[He looks to the flames in his own hand, gradually making a motion as if to crush it. It goes out in a puff.] ...Yes, I think this can work. [He looks to Susato.] What if, we gather all the flames into one place and try to snuff it out in one go?
no subject
Yes, let's!
[ As she collects more flames, they find themselves standing back-to-back, turning in a circle to cover the entire radius in the surrounding area. Eventually she speaks, mouth covered with her sleeve once more, as she turns to face the ball of wildfire in front of them, alive with passion, hatred and malice. ]
Ready? [ Time to stamp out the frog's ill-intent once and for all. ]
no subject
Yes! [He couldn't even see Susato anymore, seeing as he'll be pushing opposite of her.]
no subject
It's working, but she might need help from her other half... ]

It feels like stuffing something that won't fit inside your luggage. She's grunting and groaning, her voice strained until her hands at last clap together in an instant. The ball of flame, now much smaller, sputters and flickers out in a whoosh, leaving everything in dead silence.
Her ears are left ringing, but after a few moments to recover, eventually her hearing returns, starting with the peaceful sounds of the forest.
...... ]
no subject
S-Susato...?! [Of course rather than worry about himself, he needed to make sure Susato was all right. They were grasphing each other hands, now the flames have poof between them.]
no subject
We, We did it. Are you—
no subject
Ah. [There's still that odd white object poking out from beneath the dirt.]
no subject
Thinking on it now that the fires and smoke have calmed, she has some suspicions. She nods to Kazuma to confirm before approaching the buried thing, bending down to dig her fingers into the dirt. ]
no subject
My clutch.... [Well, that answers for them.]
no subject
Your... Your children.
[ Oh. Perhaps she shouldn't keep digging then. ]
no subject
The fires were close, but we took care of it. [The giant snakes eyes them both. He can clearly see the flames have indeed been quelled. Fang with Aura wrapped around her neck come up from behind. There's a clear lack of frog with them.]
no subject
We did, yes. It was much faster to extinguish the flames here. We were just about to report the results to you... Where is—?
[ Susato glances about, from Mr Snake, to Fang, to little Aura. She lingers on Fang's back, and then on the large snake, noticing that its skin seems to shimmer slightly brighter in the sunlight peaking in from above.
He has eaten the frog, Aura states, seeming a little pouty. He did not sshare. ]
Ah! [ ......Susato looks stricken, suggesting some amount of sympathy. What little is possible for such a devious frog who deserved his fate... ]
