i: Cuddle Your Fears

[Kaoru had accepted everything pretty easily. A dream world? Sure, why not? She just came back from an adventure to an alternate universe where Minamoto was a young woman where they were visited by alternate versions of herself where the Children were all teenage boys. This isn't even that weird even with her being able to sleep and dream in this apparent dream world.

In short: her tolerance for weird things is pretty high.

Even so, she wants to draw the line at random dolls that look like her just randomly appearing. She frowns at it.]

Why isn't this thing cuter? I'm way cuter than that. [Yes, this is her complaint.]


ii: Halloween Shopping

[Catch her picking out costumes! Most of what she gravitates towards have short skirts. These, she may turn to someone, holding it against herself.]

What do you think?

[...but she'll occasionally pick one out that she thinks is funny. Like a full bear suit.] You should try this!

[Either way, she doesn't care if you're a stranger. This is just how she rolls.]

O-Oh um... [ Prompto is just surprised suddenly when he has a bear suit shoved into his face. ]

I don't really think that uh, I'm gonna look good in that.

I think everyone looks about the same in one of these.

[Since even your face is hidden.

Her smile turns into a pout.] But if you really don't like it I can pick something else...

[Look at how disappointed she is (pretending to be).]

Uhhh, yeah. [ Prompto smiles a little nervously. ]

I mean sure, maybe you can pick something else?

[ Wait, why is she picking out his outfit in the first place? ]

[Because if she acts as if it's normal to do something, even if it's unreasonable most people just go along with it?

She smiles brightly.]

All right! Just give me a moment!

[She puts the gorilla suit away quickly then walks over to another rack...before returning with a frilly maid dress.]

How about this one?

Sure.

[ Apparently that's right, because Prompto seems to be going with the flow exactly because she's doing that...

The choice this time makes Prompto blush a little bit. ]

A-Ah I don't think- that probably wouldn't look good on me...

No way! You'd totally look good in it! Blond maids are popular!

I'm sure we can even find some cat ears somewhere!

A-Are they? [ Is that really the problem here? ]

Well...I mean... [ He sighs at himself. ]

I guess I could try it on.

[She's not the only one who's being followed by a creepy doll of herself. Kazuya is too, and it very much unsettles him, what with the way it looks at him with its red-eyed dead-eyed stare.

It's discomforting, how much it looks like him, only with the black Bel cloak and red eyes. He hates it a lot, actually.

But there is a little comfort as it floats menacingly after him no matter where he moves to, when he sees Kaoru also being menaced by a doll after her own.]

You've got one too, Akashi-san?

[She looks between her doll and his.]

Well, I guess I should be happy that it's not just mine that's ugly.

[She says that but happy is the opposite of what she feels.]

I'd offer to launch it into space for you but I don't think it will work.

[No kidding... Kazuya's floats menacingly, just behind the wires of his headphones.]

You're welcome to try anyway. Maybe it'll at least orbit for a bit before it comes back.

[One could hope.]

Though it's been pretty resistant to everything else I've tried to do to it.

[Turns out, immolation is not on the table.]

I don't know. What if it just teleports back? It's already so ugly I don't think I can deal with it being able to teleport too.

[Also she'd feel so bad for Aoi...having to have such an ugly thing have the same power as her.]

I've tried lighting it on fire. Didn't work.

[ Which makes sense, if it's as fire resistant as he is... ]

Do you think if we get some really heavy rocks we can tie them to it and toss them into a river?

Don't characters who drowned always turn out to be alive in dramas?

Let's go find some rocks. Even if it comes back it would at least be funny.

Halloween Shopping

(Normally Anya would have been swamped by customer orders at Madame Blackbird’s as Halloween draws closer. That’s how her work in the store is like: custom orders and customers asking for recommendations or help. As an employee herself, she couldn’t just wander in and waste working hours on messing with store inventory.

But today is very different. A young lady is asking her to try out this bear costume right now and she seems to be asking her to check it out very politely.)

Oh, me? Are you sure that I’ll be able to fit inside that costume?

I'm sure you'd fit.

[But she does lower it thoughtfully.]

But I guess it'd be a shame for a pretty lady like you to have your face hidden.

Yeah. The bear helmet is going to be covering up my entire face and I am worried that I won’t be able to see a thing properly while wearing it.

(On the other hand, she could give the bear suit a try and see what sort of costume ideas she could get from her working in the store. It never hurts to see what inspirations she can find.)

However I will give the suit a try and hopefully I can still walk around with my face being mostly hidden in the head portion.

[She holds the suit closer to herself, as if no longer willing to hand it over.]

Well, if it's a safety thing then we should probably pick something else. Besides, you'd probably be uncomfortable and sweaty in this thing anyway!

[Why is she advocating against her own idea? Because the weakness of her brand of teasing is when someone just accepts it's no longer funny. Also it makes her feel a little bad...]

The more I look at this thing, the uglier it looks! So you should definitely wear something cuter!

Yeah, it is a safety thing I’m heavily leaning towards. I do wonder how would anyone be able to see their surroundings while in the suit, I will give it to anyone who is able to do that much better than I do. Not to mention not being able to breath too.

In any case, I am definitely open to other costume ideas and options. It never hurts to see all the possible options for Halloween costumes and I do like to check out everything. Maybe the store has the cuter costumes for me to try on.

I think sometimes they just have someone guiding them.

[That's usually how it is at conventions, right? Either way! She's putting that gorilla costume back on the rack! Is it in the right spot? Probably not.]

I think a dress would be nice! Maybe we can find you a cute witch costume!

[Ace was looking at costumes himself when he spots the girl, looking like she can't pick a skirt. When he approaches her, she asks him for his opinion and it makes him blink in surprise.]

Eh? Oh! umm... Left, it looks nice with your hair colour.

Hm...

[She considers that opinion.]

That's true. But I was also thinking if I could try a wig. I thought that might be fun! [Not hair dye though because her bright red hair is like a brand!]

Well, in that case, why not try a wig and then try on the clothes?

[Since not knowing what your hair will look like might make it difficult!]

That would make sense, wouldn't it?

[Though she hadn't entirely committed to it...but if she hasn't then why not have fun with trying?

She puts both outfits back though an observant person may notice that she actually lets go a little before they're hung properly...but they seem to hang themselves back on the rack anyway.]

I was thinking maybe green hair? Ah, but my eyes are still a little red...that combination might not be right for this holiday...

How about orange instead of green?

[Maybe that will match better!

He notices the clothes fixing themselves on the rack, but feels it's inappropriate to ask about it.]

Ooh, orange could be cute! Maybe I can be a pumpkin witch!

[Pumpkin orange is a lot more yellow than her normal fire-engine red hair. Plus, maybe she can pick a more pumpkin-shaped dress to match it.]
