[Kaoru had accepted everything pretty easily. A dream world? Sure, why not? She just came back from an adventure to an alternate universe where Minamoto was a young woman where they were visited by alternate versions of herself where the Children were all teenage boys. This isn't even that weird even with her being able to sleep and dream in this apparent dream world.

In short: her tolerance for weird things is pretty high.

Even so, she wants to draw the line at random dolls that look like her just randomly appearing. She frowns at it.]

Why isn't this thing cuter? I'm way cuter than that. [Yes, this is her complaint.]

ii: Halloween Shopping

[Catch her picking out costumes! Most of what she gravitates towards have short skirts. These, she may turn to someone, holding it against herself.]

[...but she'll occasionally pick one out that she thinks is funny. Like a full bear suit.] You should try this!

[She puts the gorilla suit away quickly then walks over to another rack...before returning with a frilly maid dress.]

[ Apparently that's right, because Prompto seems to be going with the flow exactly because she's doing that...

The choice this time makes Prompto blush a little bit. ]

A-Ah I don't think- that probably wouldn't look good on me...

No way! You'd totally look good in it! Blond maids are popular!

I'm sure we can even find some cat ears somewhere!

A-Are they? [ Is that really the problem here? ]

Well...I mean... [ He sighs at himself. ]

I guess I could try it on.

But since he agrees to try she happily shoves the dress into his hands.]

Great! I'll go ahead and find those cat ears! Maybe they'll have a tail somewhere too!

[Unfortunately, the person normally responsible for curbing her shenanigans isn't actually here. Sorry, Prompto.]

[ Nope, no deception here, Prompto is sure she must be telling the truth. ]

Okay. [ He calls and slips into the change room. Is he really going to put this on? ......probably.... ]

[While he goes to the change room, she makes good on her promise to find a headband with cat ears and a tail. She even found a tail with a bell on it.

She comes back to the change room...ah, if she knew his name it might be easier to call out to him...oops. Well, whatever!]

I found the accessories!

[Hopefully her voice is recognizable enough!]

[ Oh he knows her voice. He's going to remember this voice for the rest of his days. Prompto comes out, cheeks a little pink from embarrassment, but sure enough he has put on the maid outfit.

How did he get here exactly? ]

Oh um...Are you sure this is really suitable?

[He got here because she's a menace.]

Well, not yet it isn't.

[She walked over with a slight bounce to her steps. Then her feet actually leave the ground as she floats up just enough to place the cat ear headband on Prompto's head.

Technically, her powers are supposed to be a sort of secret but she figured in this place she could find some excuse or another for them.]

There! Now the look is complete!

Oh...um... [ Hang on he's processing. ]

[ Politeness wins again. Now he's a blond maid with cat ears. What is his life? ]

[She even throws in a wink. She moves a little further back, feet still not touching the ground. She holds out her hands, thumbs and forefingers framing him..[]

You look great! A perfect--oh, um. What's your name? I forgot to ask.

I...I guess that's something? Oh!

[ He blushes. ]

I'm Prompto Argentum.

You're a perfect Hermione Argentum, then!

[Why Hermione? It's a weird running gag.]

I'm Kaoru Akashi! It's nice to meet you!

Um...I'm kinda attached to my name... [ For so many reasons. ]

N-Nice to meet you? [ Is it though? ]

It's only for the holiday! It's like pretending to be a vampire except you're pretending to be a Hermione.

[This is nonsense and she knows it.]

Y-Yeah, okay I guess. There's no real harm done.

[ He doesn't want to start an argument. ]

[Look, she's a menace but she's not heartless. So she pats him on the shoulder.]

But, aren't you being a little too nice? If someone comes to you with an unreasonable request you should say 'no'...even if the someone asking is really cute!

Oh, um, w-well, I mean... [ Prompto stammers a little bit. ]

I don't really want to get into an argument. [ It's easier just to comply right? And there's no harm done. ]

[She stares for a moment then she sighs.]

There are people who would take advantage of that to bully you, you know.

You're lucky I'm not that sort of person.

[AREN'T YOU THO???]

[ Gasp! Do you really think he got bullied? ~~Yeah, probably.~~ ]

I think I'm too old to be bullied.

No one's too old to be bullied.

[She should know: she regularly bullies Hyobu who's like. nearly a hundred years old.]

Well, if anyone tries, just let me know and I'll kick their ass for you.

Uhhh, sure, but I think I can handle it.

[ That's very sweet Kaoru, but really. He's an adult and everything! ]

Well, all right. But the offer is there

[In her experience, adults often need help but are bad at asking for it. It probably comes with the territory of being a teen in a teen protagonist story.]

Anyway, you should get changed back into your clothes! You don't want to hog the change room!

[She considers making a joke about how he should pay her or buy her ice cream as payment for the great advice she gave but decides she's probably had enough fun at his expense for one day.]

O-Oh right! [ Prompto is so easily flustered, it's probably easy to imagine him being bullied a lot. It doesn't seem to matter how old he gets, he's still forever nervous and anxious. ]
