Who turns down the noble conk-the-fuck-out, just to wake up and wonder what year it is?

He shrugged. "Then I'll undust your bed, I guess. Thanks. Just don't be afraid to get all snuggled up to me 'cause I'm so fuckin' warm. It'll be our Christmas secret."
no subject
Instead, he laughed at the notion. "While I appreciate the offer, I'm afraid you'll not wake to find me as your bedmate. I might take a brief nap out here but otherwise I intend to get a little extra work done."
He motioned with a hand to a basket of mending tucked away beneath the side table beside his usual armchair.
"I might have the radio on, but do let me know if the volume is too high."

A radio playing while he slept...? His expression softened, thoughtful.
"...That sounds kinda cool, actually. The first thing I bought when I got a place to live was enough food to fill the fridge and a game system, but I didn't think about a radio just to have some tunes goin'... would'a made doin' dishes and stuff less tedious!"

He grinned. "...Incoming, by the way."
Because Maple had come sniffing over and tossed her big faerie dog butt down in a sit next to Alastor, looking up with small yellow lights for eyes amid the deep green frasier fir bristles that made her fur this time of year. She'd been dressed in little wrapped candies and a string of popcorn for decoration, and looked (and smelled) like a sentient christmas bush that was vaguely dog-shaped.

Alastor's grin widened as he looked to the dog. He was really trying to do better about dogs in general, and at least Maple was rather calm. Just...big.
Very big.
Big enough to pin him down and -- Cutting that thought off before he sent himself into a panic.
"Hello. Do you need something?"

In response, the tail thumped the floor. From her maw, there was a distinct sound of, "Hrrrmmmm."
"She says Merry Christmas. And thanks for the invite."

He tilted his head curiously at Denji.
"You can understand her?"
no subject
He reached over to pet Maple.
"Wolves have a really thick 'accent' and are loud but overall just wanna lick your mouth, and foxes talk really fast and have their own secret words they use to talk to each other."

He didn't miss that. At all. Oh my god. What a weird and awful time to be homeless.

Alastor was just glad he didn't have to go into rut due to his deer body. He probably would've found the closest angel weapon to off himself immediately.
