Where: The Wild Harvest, located on the ground floor of Kazuma's home.
What: Soft opening for a small pub called the Wild Harvest.




A new pub has opened in Reverein, though the news is only being spread through word of mouth, or if people just happen by the place this month. Kazuma isn't exactly new to managing a pub, but he wanted to be sure he does it right this time. So he's keeping things small and simple, while the crew work out any issues that may come up during the month.

The place already has a much more welcoming feel to it compared to the Hydeout, like a quaint little neighborhood pub. Right next to the pub was a garden, part of it growing into the pub itself. There's a herb station setup if people want grab something else to add to their dishes, though at the moment, the selection is limited until they can grow more plants. There are garnish and spice noodle dragons also roaming about, and they will occasionally add a little extra to a customer's food or drink.

The menu itself is moderately simple, listing various eastern and western style street food dishes. There is also a note that reads: Can request something to be cooked off menu, as long as there are ingredients.

A sign has been put up near the entrance, listing the seasonal specials for the month.


Hot Chocolate (Alchoholic and Non)
Eggnog (Alchoholic and Non)
Cinnamon Apple Spice Tea
Meat Stew.
Roast Fowl.

Note: Meat will vary depending on what's available for the day.

Another can be found at the bar, this one being a "help wanted" sign. While Kazuma is satisfied having a crew he can trust, he could probably do with a full time bartender and bouncer. There are only three staffed at this pub right now. Kazuma is handling the front the best he can. He's not as conversive as his Hyde counterpart, but he'll try since he'll be the one most people will see. Occasionally 76 can be seen at the bar handling drinks, otherwise he'll be preparing the food along with Susato in the kitchen. A few times she'll peek out from the back to help clear tables, talking to the others during down time as she adjust to working a restaurant.

[This is basically an open mingle log for people to use the pub setting for whatever they like! Kazuma, Susato and/or 76 may also tag in, unless specified. Pub and garden area are open to the public.]

...There was a lot of clean-up involved, you know.

[ A teasing tone comes from Susato, as if to imply Ryunosuke wouldn't know the first thing of what that means. But it is an affectionate tease, at least, and the way the smile brightens her face suggests she's glad to see him. ]

I'm so glad you could come. Kazuma-sama will be so happy to hear your approval.

...somehow I had a feeling that would come up.

[He can't deny it. Just cleaning by itself is one thing (one thing he's not particularly good at, either) but then there's also the experience he had when he was cleaning out his own place to use. He still remembers it quite well.[

After my last experience cleaning a place out, I'm not sure I'm really cut out for that kind of work here.

[ Though with her tone and the way she teases him, he could never be too sure. She makes sure to giggle, though, a way of ensuring him that she was just kidding. ]

Are you at least hungry, or perhaps thirsty? I could take your order if you like.

Ahaha...

[Yeah that doesn't exactly fill him with confidence. Those concerns are rather quickly forgotten, however, at the mention of food.]

Actually, yeah I am. I didn't get a chance to look at the menu yet, but I'd love to hear your recommendations.

Weeell... [ She makes a show out of tapping at her chin with her quill, which she'd been using to take down orders in her notebook. ] If you are feeling a little homesick, you could try my roast duck.

If you are feeling more adventurous, however, you could also try the stew.

[ She has been watching the way 76 makes it. Even though it lacks that Japanese touch, both are good choices, so he really can't go wrong! ]

[Ryunosuke listens patiently as she thinks over it and begins making thoughtful recommendations. While homesick is not entirely incorrect, it's ultimately not the final reason he makes the decision he does. While he's sure all the dishes are great, the fact that it's hers is what ultimately wins him over.]

...I'd love to try your roast duck.

[ ...There's a quiet smile of approval. She scribbles it down in her notebook, though it probably isn't strictly necessary--better safe than sorry. ]

Excellent choice. I'll be right back, then.

[ She bows, lingering for a moment to give him a chance to change his mind if he wants; but when he doesn't, she disappears in to the kitchen. ]

[ She remerges, carrying a plate of perfectly portioned, still-steaming roast duck. The colors and seasoning look rich with flavor, and the vegetables only serve to highlight that. If it looks familiar, that may be because the recipe is based on Iris's gift to Yujin, the pheasant--but the difference is, Ryunosuke will actually get to eat this one.

She sets the plate down in front of him eagerly. ]

There you are. One order of roast duck.

[He watches her fondly-- it's nice, seeing her getting so into it. If he didn't know any better he would have thought she was a natural. But that was no surprise. Ryunosuke would be more shocked if there was something she couldn't do. Which is completely opposite of him, for whom even the few specific skills he does have would probably surprise most people.

It's a fine reminder of just how lucky he is to have someone so capable who still wanted to work beside him.

The similarity strikes him almost immediately. His observational skills are one of his best traits, certainly-- and it only increases when it comes to food he'd been interested in. It really is touching in a way.]

[ Presentation is everything--or so she was taught, and so she had practiced. She smiles. Ordinarily she'd feel too embarrassed to stay and wait to see the customer's reaction, but since it's Ryunosuke...

Well. She finds herself lingering. ]

Thank you. I did the very best I could with what I could remember of Iris's recipe from home. I suppose she's not here to tell me how I did, but I feel much more confident, hearing that from you.
