Where: The Wild Harvest, located on the ground floor of Kazuma's home.
What: Soft opening for a small pub called the Wild Harvest.




A new pub has opened in Reverein, though the news is only being spread through word of mouth, or if people just happen by the place this month. Kazuma isn't exactly new to managing a pub, but he wanted to be sure he does it right this time. So he's keeping things small and simple, while the crew work out any issues that may come up during the month.

The place already has a much more welcoming feel to it compared to the Hydeout, like a quaint little neighborhood pub. Right next to the pub was a garden, part of it growing into the pub itself. There's a herb station setup if people want grab something else to add to their dishes, though at the moment, the selection is limited until they can grow more plants. There are garnish and spice noodle dragons also roaming about, and they will occasionally add a little extra to a customer's food or drink.

The menu itself is moderately simple, listing various eastern and western style street food dishes. There is also a note that reads: Can request something to be cooked off menu, as long as there are ingredients.

A sign has been put up near the entrance, listing the seasonal specials for the month.


Hot Chocolate (Alchoholic and Non)
Eggnog (Alchoholic and Non)
Cinnamon Apple Spice Tea
Meat Stew.
Roast Fowl.

Note: Meat will vary depending on what's available for the day.

Another can be found at the bar, this one being a "help wanted" sign. While Kazuma is satisfied having a crew he can trust, he could probably do with a full time bartender and bouncer. There are only three staffed at this pub right now. Kazuma is handling the front the best he can. He's not as conversive as his Hyde counterpart, but he'll try since he'll be the one most people will see. Occasionally 76 can be seen at the bar handling drinks, otherwise he'll be preparing the food along with Susato in the kitchen. A few times she'll peek out from the back to help clear tables, talking to the others during down time as she adjust to working a restaurant.

[This is basically an open mingle log for people to use the pub setting for whatever they like! Kazuma, Susato and/or 76 may also tag in, unless specified. Pub and garden area are open to the public.]

Yes, she mentioned that she was going to both cook and serve here.

[Hmm, he wonders if he should mention how nervous Susato appeared to be when talking about the Wild Harvest. Perhaps it's something she wants to keep to herself, but also... he does like gossip.]

...She actually seemed quite nervous when talking about it to me.

Hm, yes I notice she's been a little tense. This whole "working a pub" is new to her, but I insisted that she'll be fine. [A light chuckle as he shrugs.]

She's very diligent in whatever she's doing, so I'm sure she's worrying about messing something up.

[Ah, so it hasn't escaped Mr. Asogi's notice then. That's... probably good? He's probably supporting her in his own way at any rate.

Vigil finds himself nodding slightly, confirming Kazuma's comments about her.]

As anyone, we want to do well in our work and not disappoint the people close to us. [...] Does Mr. Naruhodou work here as well? Ah, I apologize, I shouldn't just assume that you and him know each other.... but she seems to be friends with him as well.

All I want from her is to relax. [If not, he'll just go over and remind her. At the mention of Naruhodou, he laughs.]

He's my best friend as a matter of fact, and no, I haven't put him to work yet. [YET] Frankly, I'm not sure what he would do...waiter perhaps? [A shrug.] At the moment, I'm just looking for a bartender, and he certainly has no expertise there. [It's a good thing Ryunosuke isn't here to hear Kazuma roast him.]

[Miss Mikotoba is truly a handworker through and through... he may not know her that well compared to some others, but even Vigil can see where Kazuma is coming from. There's probably always something she wants to do to help out.

Hearing that they know each other gives Vigil a great deal of relief, his posture relaxing. He'd honestly feel a large amount of shame if he offended Mr. Asogi in that sort of manner.]

...Don't have as much faith in his abilities as Miss Mikotoba's? [He's... joking lightly, his eyes closing just lightly as a small chuckle leaves him.] I know he has a good arm at least.

Hah, I have a feeling he'd say that about himself if I ask. [He shakes his head.] Ryunosuke is a man of many unique talents, if he puts his mind to it. I simply do not have a position to offer him at the moment. Although...I suppose he could be a legal consultant. [Imagining Ryunosuke trying to stop a bar fight is funny.]

Something to drink while we're talking by the way? And what's this about having a good arm?

I'd hope that you would have far less legal issues in this world compared to the challenges you and Mr. Naruhodo must've faced back home.

[...He knows that Mr. Naruhodo is a defense lawyer and Miss Mikotoba is his legal consultant, so he wonders how Mr. Asogi ties in with them. Hah, probably the prosecutor or something, since he mentioned that he worked in court too. Actually, it would make sense if he really was.

Oh, tea would be lovely. The apple spice tea, thank you.

[And oh boy, guess he's let that one slip. Lord van Zieks is probably going to kill him for this, but in the name of gossip, it must be done.]

One night, I saw Mr. Naruhodo chuck a shoe at an imposing figure, straight from the ground to the intimidating man's treehouse. It even hit him directly in the face.

It would be ideal, but I doubt this lawless world will remain as peaceful as it has been. [Outside of the nightmare and dream stuff at least.]

One moment then. [He bows his head as he steps away to get his drink. He returns a moment later, setting down a hot cup of tea, with apple slices soaking within.]

He...threw a shoe from that range...? [His words linger at the end. Why does it feel like he heard something about this a few months back?] Heh, that's quite an aim. I suppose he found a use for all that archery practice. [For throwing shoes at people's faces??? Don't mind him still laughing in amusement at the image of his friend hitting someone with a shoe.]

[Mr. Asogi probably has a point there. Although he still has some doubts about a full fledged legal system being adopted in this world, peace will probably only last so long.

He thanks Kazuma for the tea once it's brought over, letting himself enjoy the aroma for a bit before taking a small sip. Truly delightful.]

Ah, so he practices such a sport? [Vigil brings a hand to his chin, adopting a thoughtful look as he recalls the moment when Naruhodo tossed that shoe out of sheer terror.] Has he thought about using an actual bow and arrow here?

We both did, but more as a hobby back at University. [He crosses his arm, in thought.] I haven't seen him express interest since he arrived here, no. Though all things considered with this world, maybe he should. What about yourself?

[He looks curiously to Daley] Do you have anything else going on, besides being a Head Jailer?

[Perhaps Mr. Naruhodo can keep both of his shoes next time. Although, the thought of the young Japanese man just creating shoes from dreamotion energy to toss at people has crossed his mind before.]

...I've been working on it.

[He grimaces slightly at the question, thinking back where he formed a pair of handcuffs in front of a lady during Christmas. It was truly mortifying and he still thinks about it to this day, unfortunately. As such, he's grateful for the slight change in topic, although the new one doesn't do much to improve his mood.]

I'm ashamed to admit that there's little else I do back home. Sometimes I think about getting my old job back, but I believe that path's already ended.

[The mystery behind Vigil's "resignation" continues to remain a mystery. It'll probably just go back into a loop if he pressed on that again, so he'll just...not do that.]

So you're not doing anything right now? [What has this man been doing while here in dream world?]

[.....He doesn't want to bring up the fact that he sort of works for Lord van Zieks now, it seems like something that he shouldn't talk about, similar to his whole thing with Inspector Gregson. It doesn't feel great to lie to Mr. Asogi, but it's not an unfamiliar feeling to the former warder, and so he just shakes his head in response.

Besides, gathering information for the Reaper of the Bailey isn't a normal sort of job. It's not something he does every day for him.]

I've remained unemployed here. Pursuing a job here has certainly crossed my mind before, but I wasn't entirely sure where to start.

[This is all going to backfire on him someday. Oh wait-]

Well, I suppose there's no real need for one in this world. [A shrug.] I'd say just do whatever it is you like, if it interest you. There's really no wrong way to start.

[All this free time, but it's strange to be spending it just on himself. He'd know exactly what to do if his family was here, although, he's not entirely sure if he wants them be in this world. They can certainly be in danger here and Vigil would just rather deal with it by himself.

Is that why you started this restaurant, Mr Asogi? [He can't help but smile slightly.] Is food your true passion?

Hm. I'd be in the kitchen more if that were the case. [You don't really want him cooking. It's just passable.]

Truth be told, I wasn't planning to open one here, but...well one thing led to another. [A shrug.] It was something familiar, even if managed differently this time.

A sense of familiarity can be truly comforting in a deeply unusual world like this one. Perhaps that's why I keep ordering tea whenever I can.

[Also, tea's great. Definitely does its part to lower his stress and anxiety sometimes, thus putting him in a far sociable mood.]
