[A - Communal Garden]
Kazuma never thought he'd have a green thumb until his experience in the Realm of Stories revealed he actually liked taking care of plants. So when he heard about the communal garden, he of course wanted to check it out.

There were some empty patches when he visits, others already in use. He probably should have brought something to plant as well, something to keep in mind for next time. The garden was rather lively with it's magical frogs and fish too. It's honestly a nice setup, even if he finds the singing a bit overdone. There are some overgrowth and weeds that were missed here and there and, without thinking, Kazuma starts to work on removing them.

If he's not doing that, he's tending to what's already been planted or helping others plant things into the soil bed.

[B - The Cluckening]

What in hellspawn thought to create giant chickens? Giant by chicken standards at least. Kazuma had found a few wandering around his treehouse this morning, probably to pick at the grubs. There's even a rooster, making it's cock-a-doodle morning call and blocking Kazuma from leaving. Unlike the docile chickens, the rooster proved to be one aggressive beast. He dodges a swipe from it's claws that dig into the bark of the treehouse as he manages to pass through the door.

"Tch. Stupid bird!" This is not how you convince someone to eat chicken. The rooster doesn't seem done with him though, and puffs himself up in a threatening display. Not wanting to have these birds lingering around his home, he draws his blades, stands his ground and they enter a stare down. Who will make the first move?

You can say that again. I heard there was magic that would allow you to instantly warp to places, but it's dangerous. It's safer to walk.

[ Most normal people can't use magic in his world anyway. ]

You studied law in another country. Aren't you super smart then?

[As he finishes watering the soil bed, the imagery from before will dissipate]

I...wouldn't say I'm an absolute genius. [It was really tempting to brag for a moment.] I just worked really hard towards something I wanted to do.

There's magic and different spells I don't understand. The ones I'm familiar with are called the Sealed Verse and they're powerful.

[ So powerful he can't even use it on his own. Nier needs the assistance of Grimoire Weiss to even cast magic of that nature. So in this dream world he has no hope of doing it on his own.]

Your hard work paid off. You got to study in a new country! That's no small achievement.

With "Sealed" in the name, it sounds like magic that shouldn't be messed with. [But maybe he's just being overly cautious and suspicious.]

Thank you. The process to be picked to study abroad was definitely not an easy task. [A curious glance.] What about yourself? What are you looking to do?

I don't know too much about the law, but my world did have rules and some manner of order. We couldn't just do whatever we wanted. I imagine when you go to a different country the laws and rules change too, wouldn't they?

[He remembers how it had been in the Facade. That's a kingdom entirely governed by the King's order. It's completely different from anything he's seen down here.]

I spent a long time working on different jobs hoping to support my sister. She's not here though so it's just me now.

[chippedsoul]

...It did? [Past tense?]

Is she doing all right? [Cause it sounds like things are rough back home.]

[silentends]

My sister was okay last time I checked, but it's been a while since I've seen her. She's only twelve so I get worried easily.

[ He pauses. ]

Do you have any siblings? How about your family?

[chippedsoul]

[He hums quietly] I'm an only child, but...I was taken in by a father who had a daughter.

[He remembers the times she would sneak into his room when he was up studying late at night. She would try to participate whenever he was practicing with a sword. And then...somewhere down the line, it became her very duty to become his judicial assistant. A faint smile plays on his face.]

We grew up around each other, so in way...she is like a younger sister to me.

[silentends]

You were in good company then. Family's always the most important.

[He wonders if Kazuma was ever lonely being an only child like that. Nier stops thinking that way when Kazuma mentions having another family. His expression softens. ]

I hope everything works out for you and you can get back to doing what you need to do.
