[open] if you wanna run away with me, i know a galaxy
Who: Venti & You!
Which: Open Log!
Where: Reverein, The Wild Harvest, outskits of the town
What: Open prompts for the month of May with Venti! Hunting for mirror shards, drinking on the job and sleeping outside.
Warnings: tba
[a. dream board: fae moon mirror]
[Venti usually isn't one for working hard. He's much better at hardly working. Yet, with the moon gone from the sky for as long as it has been Venti can't help but be curious about the happenings around it. What exactly happened to make the moon vanish and how were they simply going to build another one?
That is why Venti is up for hunting down the shattered shards of the moon mirror. They seem to have scattered all over the town and outside of it too so there are a fair amount of places to be checking. Venti stands with a finger to his chin as he ponders this.]
If the mirror indeed reflects light like the moon might we could find shards near bodies of water. Or we might find a flicker of them in the dark. Ehe! Shall we work together?
[b. the wild harvest]
[This little bard has visited many taverns in his long life. And visiting the ones in this place is no exception. Once he finds just the right moment Venti will sneak his way into the back of the Wild Harvest with quiet little feet. Sneaking and scooting his way in and sniffing the air for anything that is remotely sweet and wine-like.
Because he's going to steal some- of course! He has nothing to offer in return for the wine nor does he have any gold coins to give!
If he's caught? He'll do his best to act a fool...]
[c. outside in the trees]
[A nice breezy Spring day calls for a nice breezy day up in a tall tree. Venti can also be found outside enjoying the simple weather with his back up against the trunk of the tree and an old wooden lyre in his hands. His fingers gently pluck together a sweet sleepy tune as he hums a wordless song...
If he spots anyone curious nearby he'll smile and play for them or strike up a conversation. And anyone is welcome to join him up in this tree if they so wish! It's very comfy up here!]
Ya-hooo! Happy afternoon to you!
[d. wildcard]

Ehe? Wolves?
[Oh, perhaps Susato is much more serious than Venti was first led to believe! He'll put on his best understanding smile.]
Of course, Miss Susato. Nothing to anger the cute wolves?
[He got more polite. Sort of.]
no subject
(Maybe if their dad was in genuine danger.) ]
Fine. I will give you the glass if you show me... what we discussed over the journal before.
[ How good is that 2,600+ year old memory of his? ]
no subject
Let's see... What was it now? A few tricks up a bard's sleeve when it comes to protecting myself? I think I can do that.
[Give him a moment while he thinks of which tricks to show.]
no subject
Excellent.
[ She waits patiently. ]
no subject
Ah- Eheh. Ahem. Well, let me clear my throat.
[He clears his throat dramatically.]
I'm what's called a vision holder. In my world, I have the power to control a particular element attuned to me. You might have seen notes of this before, hm?
[Venti holds up a hand and a swirl of anemo appears there. It's a small ball of wind magic.]
When a gaggle of bandits are coming my way it's quite useful in sweeping them off their feet. [In a smaller voice.] Not that I would have much for them to steal anyway.
no subject
Oh! I... I don't know about vision holding, but that is... impressive. If there are notes, I haven't seen them, I'm afraid.
[ Sounds like something she should ask Chongyun about. ]
Are you attuned to wind specifically?
no subject
Ehe, if you ever get a chance you should ask Master Diluc!
[He giggles, nonetheless.]
And yes, wind! Or anemo as what we call it! That is the type of element that I can use. And I'll have you know that in a pinch it's great for sending bandits running. Or at blowing up enough of a distraction to take my own course.
[Or even stealing things when no one's looking if he's careful enough...]
no subject
Well, thank you. [ Reluctantly yet still, she sets down the one glass of wine and pushes it closer to Venti. ] I'm not sure if I can apply such a thing into my protective charms. I am more... fire-oriented.
But I enjoyed the demonstration.
[ Guess he earned it... ]
no subject
Oh, that's very true! I'm not sure I can teach you how to apply such things to protective charms! But if you're looking for more practical tricks there are always other things to learn.
[He doesn't know anything about protective charms but...]
no subject
What else do you have up your sleeve?
no subject
[There's a spark of mischievousness in his eyes.]
I assume you might know already seeing as you had a notebook earlier and now I have no clue where it might have gone! Ehe!
[Sipping his wine...!! He'll get to those sandwiches soon too.]
no subject
As a matter of fact, I have a friend who is quite excellent at it. She has even taught me some of what she has learned over the years, but... the fate of my notebook may not be as impressive as you think.
I rather enjoy making use of my kimono's large sleeves. [ ...She reaches into them, and, voila! Despite how little sense it makes, despite how that notebook should have fallen out multiple times over... there it is. The very same notebook.
Like magic. ]
no subject
[Venti giggles immediately as he looks very pleased. He always appreciates someone who likes the precise and very useful skill of sleight of hand.
But do let him admire her sleeves as well.]
As for your sleeves, they're very impressive! I've seen others wear clothing similar to this in my travels! Mostly in a city called Inazuma. Oh, I wish I could wear one just like it.
[Now he's taking his sandwich to nibble on!]
no subject
How... electric. [ Inazuma. She hums knowingly. ] In Japanese, that means 'lightning,' you know, and kimonos like these are quite traditional in my homeland.
[ Should it strike her as strange though, that he's seen this type of clothing before? Despite being from another world...? She seems to think about it, but doesn't let it bother her much. ]
This is a dream world, after all. I am quite sure if you would like one for yourself, you could get one. One way or another.
no subject
[He's nibbling on his sandwiches with some delight in his tone and expression.]
Thank you for this snack, by the way. It's delicious.
no subject
Well, that and "Sorry." Perhaps. ]
I am glad you like it. Hmmm... [ She makes a show out of thinking, but really it's not much of a choice, is it? ] Well, pink happens to be my favorite, but most men would not choose it where I am from.
no subject
Is that so? I suppose I don't see men wearing pink very often as well! Ehe, but I think it'll look cute on me.
[He takes a sip of wine!]
no subject
You look young enough. [ Even if she knows he's not. Definitely baby-faced. ] Which color would you choose, if not pink?
no subject
Hm! If not pink then absolutely blue or teal. If you can't tell, those are my favourite colours. Colours that remind me of the wind!
no subject
...Just kidding. ]
Well, I am no seamstress, but perhaps I will keep that in mind... the next time I do a bit of shopping.
no subject
he can slice and move whole mountains with the wind painting is nothingHe finishes up his snack and sips happily at his wine.]
That would be lovely. It's been a wonderful afternoon, Miss Susato. If you ever need a bard's help in return please ask.
[He might or might not help.]
🎀
She gives Venti a polite bow. ]
I will.
[ In the next moments, Susato returns Yumie to the garden with the others, but is back to tidy up after Venti in no time at all. She will go out of her way to see him out as well; and she will make sure nothing else has somehow gone missing in the meantime, wine or otherwise, before she rechecks all the windows and doors.
What a tricksy bard... ]
