Reminder that our Test Drive Memes double as an Intro Log and threads can be carried over in-game. They are also required for samples. Refer to the Game Info for general information and feel free to toss any TDM related questions here. Reserves open on August 25th and Applications open on September 1st. Our application cycles are bi-monthly so the next cycle won't be until November.

I. WELCOME TO SONGEREIN

Upon "arriving" into Songerein, everyone is understandably confused. The first thought would be they must be in a dream, which makes sense since the last thing they might remember doing is falling asleep or losing some form of consciousness or awareness before opening their eyes and finding themselves in the Plaza of some strange town they've never seen before. But there are a lot of other people around, some that may look familiar but others so strange that it would be impossible for their own imagination to dream up. And they're all just as confused. Fortunately, a red tapir-like creature appears and introduces itself as Solei, one of the "keepers" of this place. It offers some explanation before letting everyone explore their new "home." [Reminder: Other people aside from the characters will also appear to act as filler NPCs so keep in mind that the initial group is at least double the size. Players are also free to be creative and come up with any kind of creature or animal their characters might encounter. The only limitations are they must be small to medium in size and not be overly aggressive as the creatures within the town are mostly passive, just wary of the new arrivals.]

A. Magic Journals. Everyone will find a journal stylized just for them on their person somewhere and it's the primary means of communication with everyone. The only limitation is that it's text only, but images can be magically imprinted on the page from the writer's mind. Might as well give it a whirl and see who all is out there.

B. Dreamotion Abilities. Although everyone maintains most of their original abilities while in Songerein, they are also capable of using special abilities based on dreamotion energy. From having their emotions affecting the environment to utilizing new abilities entirely, it's probably something that they should start familiarizing fairly quickly. Especially since all the emotional surprise and confusion may already be affecting things, such as random glass shattering or cracks forming at one's feet.

C. Exploring Town. The town of Reverein is small but still sizable, so walking around and to see what all there is might be a good idea. The town is empty of any other people and it's relatively safe aside from most of the buildings looking like they're about to collapse in on itself, but there are a few small fae and small wild critters who have made a few nests so just watch your step—or head. Some could venture out to the farmlands and beyond...but anyone who gets too close to the Wildlands will encounter a tapir who will tell them to go back for now. Be warned if anyone tries to ignore and push past them.

D. Dreambucks Cafe. As a way to welcome their new inhabitants as well as give them a nice, cool refreshment after all the work they will be doing, the tapirs will call everyone's attention to a certain cafe back at the Plaza. Called Dreambucks, it's a quaint little cafe staffed by friendly tea fairies and primarily serves tea and small cakes. Their teas and foods are quite special as the flavor will influence one's emotions and dreams—but in a good way! There are no harmful side effects and they are usually positive. Bolstering one's spirit; calming or relaxing nerves. The tea fairies want everyone to enjoy their time. Anyone can pick whichever table they want to take a break and meet some people. Or take a peek at what someone might be dreaming thanks to the teas.

There are three different types of teas available:

Rainy Morning. After drinking this tea, one might feel a little melancholic or nostalgic for something from their past. They might even have a short little daydream of a distant memory.

Summer Afternoon. This tea will make anyone feel more vigorous and joyful. So much so they might start shining like the summer sun itself! Any dreams influenced by the tea will be one of a happy occasion or a hopeful dream.

Autumn Evening. Brewed with special strong, herbal spices, this tea has a bit more of a kick to it, but it's also warm and is great for calming nerves while giving just enough of a confidence boost to get through whatever difficulties lie ahead. The dreams influenced by this tea will reflect when the drinker has been their bravest.

Although it doesn't always happen, sometimes the tea will be a strong enough influence that it will make the drinker daydream for a bit. Anyone nearby may notice their dream crystal lantern flicker and catch a brief glimpse of the daydream on it. Or perhaps those who want to try out their dream crystal lanterns are deliberately trying to see if their dreams are captured. Only daydreams influenced by the tea can be caught and even then it's just a brief glimpse, but it's still an interesting way to see how the dream crystal lanterns work.

Note: There is no currency in the world and everything served is free at this time. However it might not be immediately obvious and the fairies won't mind if customers repay in some way, be it helping out via cleaning and serving, giving gifts such as flowers or fruits, or something else.

II. HOME IMPROVEMENTS

The entire town is in need of a massive fixer upper, but one of the first areas everyone will likely want to start is the residential area to figure out their new homes. Instead of houses, most of the homes are in the trees. Be it a treehouse or carved into the tree itself, various dwellings can be found. Unfortunately, there are some unwanted guests making a mess of things, so they will need to be cleared out.

A. Pest Control. One of the worst offenders are giant bugs of varying size of type with the biggest about the size of a large dog. Some are actually quite friendly and can be shooed or coaxed away to the forests just outside of town. Or who knows, someone might befriend them and make them into a new pet or house helper. The giant beetles could make for some interesting guard...bugs. Some, however, are more hostile as they find the fruits, leaves, flowers, and wood of the trees delicious. The biggest threats are the giant termites so they must definitely be eradicated or removed.

B. A Little Pruning. The trees themselves are a little...testy in large part of the bugs that have been chowing down on them. After the bugs are cleared they will calm down and become more passive, but until then everyone will also have to beware of wild swinging branches, rotten fruit falling, and roots suddenly springing up from the ground. Another way to appease the trees is cutting out some of the old, rotten wood and giving the trees some pruning, especially any vines that are choking some to death. Positive dreamotion energy will also help revitalize the area.

C. Tidying Up. Once the area is clear, the new residents can start cleaning up and repairing the different houses there. From repairing walkways connecting the trees, to the stairs and ladders that lead up to the treehouses, to decluttering and repairing the buildings, there's a plethora of work that needs to be done.

III. DREAMSCAPE TUTORIAL

To help everyone understand their dreamwalking abilities, the tapirs will ask anyone who is willing to gather around the Dream Swings in the Central Plaza. There anyone is invited to sit in the chairs or hammocks and focus on their dream crystal lanterns to enter a special dreamscape made just for them. Those watching might find the sight of everyone suddenly turning into a colorful ball of light and disappearing alarming, but that's just the normal process of entering a dream. When someone leaves the dream, they will briefly reappear as that light before returning to their original form. The theme for this dreamscape is Spooky Forest and it first starts in a pumpkin patch before moving to a dark, fog filled forest.

A. Suddenly Pumpkins. The moment anyone enters the dream they will find themselves in a fenced in pumpkin patch and turned into a pumpkin. Since anything can happen while dreamwalking, the first exercise is to try and change back to their original form or have fun and just roll around as pumpkins. They can even try to change the pumpkin form, such as changing the size, the shape, color. Just watch out for the mice. They are feeling very artistic and will try to scribble whatever on any pumpkin around, but otherwise are harmless and easily scared off. The marker will remain even when turned to the normal, but should be easy enough to remove, right? The only way to leave the patch is to turn back to normal.

B. Festive Candy Hunt. At some point the tapirs come in and ask the dreamwalkers to try and change the spooky forest into something a little more festive. They are given free rein to change the environment in how they see fit. Of course, this means the dreamwalkers need to figure out how to focus their energy and imagination to make those changes. Perhaps starting small by adding decorations or changing the colors of the leaves is a good starting place. But there may be some difficulty as some rogue candy is messing things up and getting in the way. Capable of movement, they will dash, roll, and even fly to evade capture. They will also try and defend themselves using special "attacks" based on what they are. Chocolate will make melted chocolate puddles, taffy will make sticky traps, bubble gum will try and encase people in a sticky bubble—might want to avoid the giant jawbreaker as it's more of a bodybreaker. Fortunately once caught, the candy will change to its more normal form. Maybe altering the environment could work to their advantage. If successful in either decorating or catching the candy, there will be some kind of reward later.

C. A Little Frightening. While traversing through the forests, any small, minor kind of fear will manifest and chase them around. For example if one is afraid of spiders, a small group or one large spider will suddenly appear. If one hates cleaning, a bunch of brooms and brushes will start harassing them. It's not enough to induce full blown nightmares, and no one can actually be harmed, but it's enough to give anyone a fright and need help getting rid of them. Thinking of more pleasant ideas that counter the fears, like fluffy clouds or cute plushies, can help disperse them. If the fears worsen instead, a small noctaere will form. The tapirs warn that they are creaturn born from nightmare energy, and if too many appear and grow bigger the dreamscape could turn into a nightmare. So what a great opportunity for the dreamwalkers to test out their new dreamotion abilities! Especially since their original abilities aren't even useful while dreaming. The noctaere are quite weak, so a few hits can easily disperse them, but there might be a few that will take a bit more teamwork. This is especially so since everyone's abilities will be weak as well.

[Kor was no stranger to writing and keeping a journal, so when he receives his and hears how different it is, he's all too eager to give it a try.]

Can people really communicate with these journals? That's amazing! The last place I was in, we all used pocket watches to talk to each other, that was pretty cool too, even though I didn't really understand how it worked. But writing to each other makes total sense! ...I think.

[There's a pause in the writing.]

Umm... Anyway! I'm Kor Meteor, a Somatic! I don't really expect anyone to know what that is here, but it's great to meet anybody that reads this message!

[It was early in the day, so Kor decides to try a tea called "Rainy Morning". As he sits there, enjoying his drink and idly munching on a blackberry pastry, he finds his thoughts drifting to days long past. Thoughts which the dream crystal lanterns picks up on, broadcasting his idle reminiscing into a passive dream.

The dream shows Kor and an older gentleman with a graying beard standing in a forest clearing. The man is wearing the red device Kor owns on his left arm.]

Does that mean you'll keep your promise?

It does. As of today, this Soma is yours.

Awesome! Thanks so much, Gramps!

[As the daydream comes to an end, Kor mutters to himself in a daze:]

Mmmnn... Gramps...

[If there were two things Kor was good at, it was having positive emotions, and being able to weaponize his emotions. So together, Kor seemed to think that helping do some cleanup on the trees would be a cinch.]

Gwaaah!

[But maybe they were a little too potent. A tree root, drawn to the strong source of positive dreamotion energy, suddenly snakes up out of the ground and coils itself around Kor's body, ensnaring him.]

H-hey! Is somebody out there? I could use some help here!

[D]

[Kor has some experience with hunting and gathering, but...

...That experience doesn't really extend to hunting down living candy. But that doesn't seem to stop him from trying. And as he always says, Kor Meteor doesn't just try, Kor Meteor does.]

Alright, I'm gonna get you now!

[But maybe he shouldn't announce his intents before acting. Just because jawbreakers don't have ears doesn't mean it can't hear him. He starts running towards the large spherical candy, but the moment it detects his presence, it instead starts rolling towards him, towering over him like a giant boulder.]

Wah?! Or maybe you've got me instead!

[ Yeah... Someone isn't really going to have that problem - roots being attracted to him that is. Doesn't mean he's not around though. Seeing Kor getting snatched up? It kind of makes Vanitas snicker. ]

⋚ i. welcome

[a. Network: Very Important Questions. After wandering around for a bit, Rokurou has decided to try out the journal and pen a very important topic.]

That tea cafe is nice and all, but hear me out. This is all basically a dream, right? Doesn't that mean we can drink all the alcohol we want and not get drunk? And does that mean we can make our own alcohol? You know, like dream it up or whatever?

Who wants to help me test this out?

[Dead serious. If it's not swords or fighting, it's drinking and he is very curious. If anyone actually wants to try this out, he'll be happy to meet up somewhere. Maybe find an old pub or tavern to fit the mood, though it'll probably need a little fixing. Whether they can make alcohol... Not, really no. They would have to actually sleep and dream about it, but even then it would be at best pretty weak and at worst not even close to liquid like the raw ingredients. But hey, the fae do love their booze so they might find a stash somewhere...just the fairies that own might not be happy.]

⋚ ii. home improvement

[a. Getting a Little Heated. Hearing that there are some giant bugs to fight, Rokurou is quick to the join the fray, his dual blades burning with his excitement. The flames help in dealing additional damage to the insects by charring them nicely, and somehow they manage to be contained only to whatever he attacks. And yet those in the area will notice a significant increase in temperature around them as the air feels strangely hot, like the height of summer. Rokurou doesn't realize it, but the longer he fights, the more excited he gets, and this in turn causes the environment to react to his emotions. The more heated the daemon is, the more heated everything else is. And since Rokurou isn't bothered by temperatures to begin with...someone will need to speak up.

b. Best Kind of Beetle. Once everything is taken care of, while helping out repair the damaged trees, Rokurou will notice the large beetles milling about. Setting down the hammer, he walks over to one with a grin.]

Aah, now you're the finest stag beetle I've seen yet. We could use your pincers to cut through these vines, how about it? I'll find you the biggest leaves and fruits if you do.

[Yes he is talking to...the giant stag beetle that comes to just below his knee. But the beetle just clacks its pincers and follows him to help cut the vines clipping merrily away with Rokurou cheering it on.]

⋚ iii. dreamscape tutorial

a. Pumpkin Roll.
Oh crap— Runaway pumpkin, out of the way!

[Trying to get used to this form, Rokurou has been rolling around the pumpkin patch finding this actually pretty fun. Weird. But fun. But he hit an incline and is now rolling down unable to stop himself. He does try to stop himself, like trying to form arms or legs...but he just ends up making himself bigger so. Hope no one gets flattened.

b. Unlimited Joke Bladeworks!? While out in the forest trying to collect the candies, Rokurou comes across a few of those little noctaere. Seeing this as a good opportunity, he just grins and attacks them without abandon. But at some point, he wonders—this is a dream right? Then...

Focusing on his hand, he concentrates and...!]

Wait, this isn't a sword!

[Well, it kind of is. More like a rubber plastic sword, but hey he made something?? He'll try again, but each one comes out weirder than the last to the point they all seem like joke weapons. One was even a sword that looked like a rubber chicken.]

Damn, well at least I can make something. [He squeaks the rubber chicken sword in thought as a noctaere approaches.] Since it's made out of that dreamotion stuff, wonder if these are effective.

[Only one way to find out! Should anyone encounter Rokurou, they will find a comical sight of him either trying to conjure more weird looking swords or the swordsman testing the various strange looking blades on the noctaere and candy.]

⊗ i: welcome

[It had been hard to believe at first—this all really did feel like some weird lucid dream and he still hasn't ruled out that he won't wake up the next minute or other possibilities. But even so he won't sit still and he takes the initiative to investigate.

a. Wandering (wildcard). First thing's first—explore the town and understand the layout. Finding all the buildings empty is...a bit unnerving and adds some credence to what the weird tapir creature told them, but he can't relax as he's operating with zero information about the place. His only solace is having his weapon, Flamek. So he'll be scoping out the different areas, even jumping up to the roofs for a higher vantage point. He might even call out to someone passing by, warning them of any particular buildings that look unstable.

b. Flower Puppies. But as he's quietly walking through the streets...]

...? That's...!

[He spots a flower covered dog. Soon he's silently following it, wondering if it needs to be brushed or if it's naturally like that...until he hears the sound of small barks ahead. The dog had led him towards the Riverside and around an old shabby building under a small dock was a makeshift nest of flowers and weeds with four dirty flower covered puppies.

Yep. He can't stand still any longer. Carefully he approaches, the mother naturally wary.]

Easy... I just want to help...

[He doesn't even realize he's sprouting a few flowers of his own around his feet and wall, the sight of the flower pups tickling his heart as he does his best to appear as calm and gentle as possible.]

⊗ ii: home improvements

[After exploring and finding those puppies, Eustace heads towards the Residential area. If he could clear out a home then maybe... Wait, wait, should he really be thinking about that when he's still not sure any of this is real!? Whatever, let's just do this.

a. Pest Control. First thing's first—clearing out everything. He's faced abnormal sized but monsters before so he doesn't bat an eye as he uses both his dagger and gun to clear them out. Taking aim, he fires Flamek towards the termites, concentrated blasts of lightning piercing through the oversized pests. Given the environment he's limited in what he can do but this is good enough. Hopefully no one minds the noise, and anyone is free to assist as he will do the same. If he needs to get in close and stab them he will. And for anyone who might need an assist, he'll either fire a sniping shot or dash in for a quick stab to pull the foe away. Otherwise he'll call out to whoever is nearby.]

Draw them away from the trees. We'll be less limited in our attacks and I can paralyze them.

[b. Cleaning Up. Afterwards once the pest have been cleared out, Eustace will help in repairing and tidying up the place. Pulling out vines, finding brooms to use to help sweep away the leaves. He'll also be scouting around to find his own place, preferably a treehouse that's high up. IF he really has to live here, might as well make it comfortable and suitable for him.]

⊗ iii: dreamscape tutorial

[a. Candy Hunt. After the strangeness of being a pumpkin, Eustace will help a bit with the decorations at first. While practicing the use of these dreamotion abilities is useful, it's hard trying to imagine how to change something... Festive huh? Maybe a few lights on the end of the branches...?]

...It worked.

[It isn't much, but a few small white appears at the tip of the branches he's facing and he actually smiles a bit at the small accomplishment. But then it's all ruined when a chocolate bar swoops in and covers it in chocolate.

...

A strange loud boom of thunder and crackle of lightning can be heard overheard before, Eustace can be found hunting down the candy, a small satchel he managed to create already filled with several he's caught. Of course it's not easy and he has bits of candy stuck all over him to prove it. He's at least figured out he can "cast" lightning bolts, though they're a bit tiny and more like sparks. Still, enough to try and shock a candy down...or accidentally burst it especially if it's chocolate. Hopefully no one gets caught in the splatter.

b. Noctaere. He doesn't really have any fears that will plague him, but will help anyone who might be stuck with them. As for the Noctaere, he has Flamek...but it's obviously not the real thing. Case in point, rather than lightning it's shooting out marshmallow goop for some reason and he has no idea why. Really it's frustrating, but it does help get the small noctaere stuck for a little bit.]

[It won't take long for Asogi to work out what he needed to do the moment he landed in this new world. All around him, wherever he went, various things would crack or flat out break. The laws of this world were obviously much different from the Index. Plus....it seem that man was no longer with him, as he had suspected the moment he left the Index. After having spent so long imprisoned by his other self, he needs some time to adjust.

He can be found sitting wherever one would like to discover him. In a back alley, in front of a restaurant, probably annoying the owner as he wasn't there to buy anything, a field surrounded by different colored dream sheep. If there's space, he sits. Why though? People might think he may be sleeping while sitting. The air around him will also fluctuate being cold and warm, cracks appearing beneath him or plants wilting.]

II-A/B
[He must have one hell of cold stare as the trees weren't being as rough with him as he helps chop at the rotting wood and clearing the rotting fruits. There was definitely a chill in the air around him, the colors slightly paler around him. The only thing daring to approach him was a beetle that would refuse to leave him alone.]

Take this away. [He dumps some of the rotting wood inbetween it's horns. Well if it's going to hang around, it better make itself useful. The beetle clicks it's wings in protest, which only prompt him to give it more wood.]

Was there anything else that needed to be cleared out? [The beetle will pout, as Asogi turns his attention to whomever he was helping.]

III-A
[There appears to be a pumpkin that's quite literally on fire. Yet the pumpkin itself wasn't being burned to a crisp. The same cannot be said for the pumpkins around the flaming one though. It certainly kept the mice away though. Unfortunately, Kazuma has no idea how to make the burning stop, all he can do is hop about in frustration and try not to burn any other pumpkins nearby.

At one point, he ends up by the fence, the flames creating an opening. Well, at least the flames have some use.]

(Everything has went into a blur for Anya as she entered the pumpkin patch and turned up as a pumpkin as well. At the moment, she is doing her best to channel in ice magic, or at least the closest thing to it. But at the moment, she did got distracted by the flaming pumpkin running past her and she quickly tries to get out of his flames.)

Well it looks like I'm in for another ride across worlds once again and, funny enough, this is not the first time I get to communicate with journals: we did have those in the Index as well. It's a world where we get to live out stories and have abilities based on characters of myths, fairy tales, and legends.

Oh by the way, my name is Anya. Nice to meet everyone who is reading this post right now.

I-D. Dreambucks
(Shortly after arriving from the final fight against the Story Eater, Anya has a bit of a trouble to get her bearings straight, but after the briefing from Soliel, she is able to comprehend the information as much as she can.

Right now, she is at the Dreambucks: trying out some small cakes and Rainy Morning tea that is getting her reminiscing of her childhood memories before the curse. Pooka is currently snuggling up to her ankles on the floor.)

II-C. Tidying Up
(After having some good time shooing giant beetles that were in her treehouse, it's time for her to get settled into fixing the treehouses in need of repair. The Grand Duchess is lending a hand in repairing ripped curtains and bedsheets thanks to her embroidery skills from home and sweeping up the floors.

[ Akira's sitting just one table away, peeking at Anya from time to time. A few minutes later, he finally gets up and stands just a few steps away from her before asking: ]

Is it Rainy Morning tea? I've been thinking about trying it. Would you mind if I joined you?

[ He's being rather direct, but hopefully Anya won't mind. ]

[Blue butterflies flittered about, a few landing on Alice's shoulders and hair as she squinted, a hand lifted as if to shade her eyes. Another world, another set of things to get used to- nice was it was to be in far more familiar attire-]

Hm, well. I do so hope Dorothy and Toto get on well with themselves. [The first few steps? Odd flowers, mushrooms, and more butterflies sprouted from under those boots in some odd trail. Bubbles rising, popping only to leave behind some smoky sweet scent in the air.

She was rather pleased with the turn of events odd as they were.]

D. Such a Sunny Afternoon
[Of course she was eventually drawn towards the cafe after a little exploration, far too close to tea time as if this was just some ordinary day for Alice.

A fingertip traced along the rim of the teacup once it was delivered to the table she'd chosen, leaning forwards. Those blue butterflies fluttered wings, a few perched on her chair. Bubbles still floating up and popping as she finally took a sip of it, a thoughtful hum.]

What an odd mix.

[Not that Alice sounded a bit displeased, another slow sip. The opal center of the crystal lantern flickered, and a brief image could just be caught. Better days, really.]

III. Pest Control

Don't you dare-!

[That was a large beetle flung backwards, a blue lace umbrella folded away as Alice follow it with a swing of a rather large— hobby horse? She was using a hobbyhorse as if it were some large mallet, and given the size and sound of impact it certainly worked very well as one. Despite the size of it she was moving far more quickly than a girl of her size normally would.

Not as quick as a blade, but this broke their shells better. Just took a few hits.

Or slamming it down in to the ground with a loud crack. Found a hostile one while peeking in to one of the treehouses. What a bother.]

[ Alice seems to be adjusting to this change of scenery quite well. Luca on the other hand...

Well, the trail of plant life helped him find her again. ]

Erm, Alice? [ Poor fellow's shown up in his old prison clothes! Sure, the jeans and toolbelt could give a bystander reasonable doubt, but the short length of chain shackled around his neck? He's tugging on it with one hand and giving her an uneasy look. ] Where... Could you help me with something real fast?

I don't understand how it's fully possible to dream up a ... world, but not houses that stay on the ground. It's ridiculous to have treehouses past the age of ten.

[ McGillis would have described this whole experience as dreamwalking even before the friendly tapir (???) explained to him that that's just about what it is and he feels accordingly disoriented even hours later. When he wanders through the housing area, it is not with the intent of settling down just yet. He is hoping that a few more hours of walking will finally clear his head.

When he was younger, McGillis had spent some time thinking about the possibility of an afterlife and wondered what it might be like, but 'village of tree houses' had never been one of the options.

'Watch out, giant bug heading your way' is, strangely enough, a little closer to what he might have pictured but... that doesn't mean he is prepared for it. McGillis jumps back at the last moment. The insect crashes at his feet and oozes out further. Gross. ]

Have you never heard of watching out for pedestrians?!

I. Welcome to Songerein

[A. Exploring Town]

Slowly walking around, Rosalia's eyes wander around this way and that while her feet just let her freely travel. It's almost weird having feet back and not almost trip people - but it's also weird that there's so few people. A lot of buildings though, it's kind of sad. The Index had been so full, but if they were the first ones here, she guesses it makes sense?

Staring at one building and tilting her head, she's notices the fairies and little creatures that've nested inside, and frowns.

She looks worried. Maybe ask if something's wrong?

[B. Dreambucks Cafe]

The nice tapirs (ahh, they're so cute!) soon pointed out the cafe and Rosalia's in awe. Ah, she immediately loves it! She's never been to a cafe before even in the Index! She's taken by the faeries serving tea and the little cakes they have.

"Excuse me! Do you want go in with me?"

Rosalia probably doesn't know the person she's speaking to, but why not have some company?

II. Home Improvements

[A. Pest Control]

The bugs might be a bother to others, but Rosalia things they're cute! Sure, they're pretty much all crowded in the adorable little treehouse she's picked out, but that's okay.

"It's okay! I don't want to get rid of you. If you help me tidy up, I actually want to grow more flowers and trees."

Seems like the deal to expand a little garden in a cleaned up house is enough to interest the bugs into helping her. People going by this particular house that should get a good amount of sunlight and air will see bugs crawling in and out and a girl accompanying them, working to clean up the space and make it more habitable.

[B. A Little Pruning]

With bugs at her side, the trees are a little testy still, but Rosalia has a plan.

"That branch needs to be taken off before the fungus gets worse. You can eat the leaves over there. Those fruit are no good! If we don't take them off, you won't flower properly."

Leading the bugs, Rosalia too is helping take care of trees, removing dead branches and leaves, eating rotted or rotting fruits, even spotting fungus or parasitic plants that would be a danger to leave. And what the bugs don't get, Rosalia's putting into a pile. "This can be compost for the soil." If she could make a sign so others could add to it, that'd be great, but she doesn't have anything to do that.

So anyone going by with green waste like it, she'll wave a hand. "You can put that over here! We'll take care of it!"

[C. Tidying Up]

Now this would be a problem.

Rosalia's last home was mainly made of stone and she's not really sure where to start with repairs. There's plenty to do, but she thinks she'll stick to fixing up the stairs and walkway. They seem simple enough, but rotted or missing.

"Hm..."

Nope, she'll go to cleaning up clutter inside the houses. They're a mess; the bugs were messy an the termites especially. She'll be sweeping, scrubbing, and making sure nothing was in the way of people that might be going in and out of the houses too. Unfortunately, one of those passes might result in dirt or dust getting on a character, making her gasp.

"Oh, I'm sorry!"

III. Dreamscape Tutorial

[A. Suddenly Pumpkins]

One might think being a pumpkin would be terrible, but Rosalia's actually not in a hurry to change back. In fact, she's watching the little mice draw on her and giving them ideas on what to do. It was weird at first entering the dream, but this isn't so bad.

"How about... oh, how about a grapes?"

Mice aren't the best artists, but don't crush their dreams like that...! And she'd like to think this is making up for all the mice her snakes had to eat. She'll try turning into her normal self later, but why not draw on her too since she seems fine with it?

[Oooookay so a shift from a fairy tale place to a new place was kinda weird, but hey, she's seen weirder! Once she's over the initial shock of being in a new and weird place, Futaba takes a bit of a stroll around to get her bearings while still skillfully avoiding a lot of people, for the most part.

After a quick exchange of "what do I even pay you with", she's out on the street again with an Autumn Evening in hand. Once she finds a not so crowded place to hang and sip, she does. Anyone that passes by may find her thinking of a time she was at her bravest: going out into the world by herself without someone else around, and telling Ren about it and how he helped her. She may still be a little scared of a lot of people around, but it's not so bad now.]

Pest Control

[After having a nice drink and hearing that there was some houses to live in after some cleanup, Futaba makes her way over thataway to see what's going on to find... bugs?! Okay, well, she doesn't have her cool cane like she did in the Index, but she does find she can get her Persona here! Not too bad of a tradeoff considering it's UFO now flying around. She's not a fighter, but she can help others out.]

To your left! Nonononono your other left! Augh they're everywhere— AH look out behind you!

[And if there's some that are a little beat up, she'll fly on over to them...]

You look like you can use a pick me up. Get out there and kick some butt!

[Any fatigue will have been healed up, and she'll be back to her regular Phantom Thieves Navigator role, where she most definitely is the most confident.]


A Little Frightening

[After cleaning up some houses for them to live in, the next thing to really learn is this Dreamotion thing and Dreamwalking. Sounds pretty neat, actually! And the best way for her to do something is to study it firsthand so after observing people turning into a ball of light and coming back as one before they reappear as themselves again, she's just. Gonna try it for herself now, knowing that that's all normal here.

The problem is once she's inside. She might be doing better about people, but too many is enough to make her nervous, and that's certainly manifesting now with a crowd of people.

Alllllll crowding around her.

And when she tries to get away, they follow.

It eventually does get to be much, and she hunkers down trying to will them away, but it's hard when, even if it's just faked people, they're all hovering over her.]

N-no! Get away! Leave me alone! Th-there's too many of you here!

[If a familiar face or someone else comes to shoo them away, she'll be thankful because this is too much.]

What is this, a bug convention? [Boy he's really glad he still had his persona powers to deal with this. Maybe missed it a little. His persona wasn't out at the moment, managing to keep the bugs back with his sword and trusty pistols for now.

[Nino is quite relieved that other than being fully human this time again, and now having Wayzz ​with him (who's currently hiding in his hat), that he still has the same journal from back in the Index, which still works.]

Did anyone end up back home for a while after being thrown out of that Peter Pan world by Story Eater, or just end up here first? I got sent home and was there a while.

Also, is everyone back to normal? I'm fully human again 'cause I don't have the Kappa essence anymore.


Pest Control
As Carapace, he decided to help out with the pests. Mainly by either throwing his shield at them, or smacking them with the shield directly. As well as using his shield to block attacks.

A Little Frightening
Nino decided to try learning some dreamwalking lessons and surprisingly enough, Wayzz ends up in the dream with him. As they travel through the forest, he can suddenly feel a chill down his spine.

"...Something's following us, isn't it?"

The green turtle kwami, who has been flying by Nino's side, gives him a reassuring smile. "Don't worry Nino. Just keep calm. It's all apart of the test."

"I'll try." But then Nino just happened to look behind him and behind them is a giant spider. About the size of--

Nino starts to run before he could finish that thought. Wayzz flies faster to keep up with Nino. "Slow down, Nino! It's just a big spider. Remember when you fought Anansi."

"I do NOT wanna think about her right now!"

Mainly because it would turn into a full nightmare if a version of Anansi showed up. Either way, Nino might need to some help dealing with the giant spider.

A. for arrival

[The first thing anyone is likely to notice about a particular young man who's been dropped into this dream world is that he's wearing a set of pajamas that are freshly stained with blood.

He's lying on his back, staring into the sky with dull eyes, and though he's not actively bleeding at the moment, there are black markings on his face that look like cracks, and he doesn't seem to have any particular interest in moving from the spot he's lying. The color of said spot is gradually draining away, replaced with a gloomy grey, the stones of the plaza losing their sheen where he's touched them.

He may or may not need a hand, and whether he wants one is another matter entirely...]

B. outside dreambucks

[Eventually, Ferran makes his way towards the town, and ends up standing around outside the cafe, folding his arms and eyeing the fairies trying to invite people inside with a look of extreme distrust, if not near loathing. His memories may not have caught up with him yet, but he knows almost innately that fairies aren't to be trusted, especially when enticing people into their domain.

... even if he's apparently thirsty and hungry.

It's just a dream, he thinks. It doesn't matter if he doesn't eat or drink anything, whatever his loudly grumbling stomach may say. It also doesn't matter if he's still clad in the unpleasantly stained sleepclothes he arrived in. None of this matters, he thinks—and lets out a heavy sigh, apparently depressed by his own thoughts, shoulders slumping.]

C. tree troubles

[Despite himself, he heads towards the residential area, if just to have a place to... rest. Despite the absurdity of resting within a dream, he still finds himself exhausted, and even a filthy bed is better than nothing.

He heads for a cottage on the ground, not interested in the fully nature-integrated dwellings in the trees. Without wings, he vastly prefers his feet on the ground... and most of his everything on the ground, thank you.

Unfortunately, though, he's stepped a little too close to one of the aggravated trees, and it catches him around the leg with a root and trips him, causing him to fall on the ground with a thud.]

Gah.

[It doesn't look like it's about to let go, either, and starts to whip some of its lower branches towards him as if to beat the threat out of the intruder. Ferran's instinct is to summon his magic powers to defend himself, but as soon as he tries, he's stopped by a surge of sharp pain and lets out a cry. It seems like he might need some help after all...]

D. bug too friendly

[After making his way into one of the cottages, he simply stares at the creatures that have apparently been making use of the shelter for a few moments. Most of them don't seem to be intimidated by his presence at all, so he sighs and starts to nudge a giant insect out with his foot, a few inches at a time.]

Come on. Inside is for people.

[When that's done, he does the same for the rest, even picking up a few in his arms to deposit them outside and gently peeling away the vines and other invading plants from the doors and windows outside. There is, however, a ladybug that continues to fly back and land on him when he tries to block the way, and after a while he simply gives up on trying to remove it.

It may or may not still be resting on his head or shoulder when he wordlessly goes to assist any neighbors who are dealing with the same issues.]

[ Assisting neighbors huh? Well there's at least one thing going for Vanitas right now... He doesn't really have the same animal magnetism here that he once possessed. So these bugs aren't flocking to him ( small blessings ). Though that means he is struggling to get them out -

Without the use of violence.

So he stands there, about ready to resort to some magic even if it isn't as effective here when he sees Ferran walking up. ]

A. [ for the most part, the robed man can be exploring the curious town, inspecting the little fae that flutter about. the kind of fluttering that has the owl resting on his shoulder shifting almost restlessly. despite the blindfold settled on his face, he seems to be moving in a way that suggests he's not. especially when he pauses before and maneuvers around any nests they come across.

when he does crouch by a nest, the owl croons beside him as one eye stares almost unblinkingly at the critters. ] Feeling a little hungry? I'm sure we'll find something for you.

[ a soft sigh after, hand reaching to rub the top of the owl's head. ] Strange we didn't see any others from the manor... [ suddenly, the owl's head swerves to stare directly at their new arriving company, and though the Seer isn't looking in said direction he does speak a little louder as if to address them. ] Is this a first time for you as well? [ only then does he turn with a friendly smile settled on his lips. ]

B. [ the warmth inviting look of the cafe would be hard to ignore, especially when refreshments of tea are offered from it. however, the Seer looks to the nearest person with a polite smile and the ever watchful stare of the owl perched on his shoulder. ] Hello! Care to join me for some tea?

[ Eli has never shied away from meeting new people, and if he can get to be friendly and get to know them more? all the better! ]

II. | A DREAM IS A DREAM, UNTIL IT IS NOT.
( AFTER ARRIVAL • CENTRAL PLAZA. )

[ coming to decorate, it's a little shaky at first. things don't come out exactly as they should and maybe it's mostly because relying on memory alone is what makes it difficult. however, not wanting to stand around doing nothing, he still does his best to help. ...well, until some disruption happens. dealing with rogue candy is most certainly a first!

though his feathery companion has done well in protecting him from some "attacks", well... when he finds him in a sticky trap that even traps his owl in the same state. he can only struggle! ]

Ah- hi! As you can see I'm in.. quite a sticky mess, would it be possible for you to lend us a hand? [ he can only share a sheepish look as the owl caught up in it gives an almost flat look. ] I assure you she won't bite!

Zidane Tribal | Final Fantasy IX

[A. Dreamotion Abilities]

Emotion and dreams...

It's a good thing he's gotten a good wrangle on that first one finally, but that might mean he had to be more careful with it. Even in his world, emotions were powerful; hostile ones in particular.

He can focus on the positive though and being creative.

Raising his hand, it'll take him a moment, but he'll think of something good... warm. At first, he watches a small flame appear in his palm, pours more into making it grow, but then wonders if - and it can change form. Just to a light, bright and maybe a little blinding, but it's a good start.

[B. Exploring Town]

Looks bad man.

The place isn't totally abandoned, but with the state of the buildings, it might as well be. Tail whipping around, he takes note of the faeries and animals that have moved in, stepping over the nest of one, trying to figure out what some of these places could've been before. He almost thinks some look familiar, but maybe his head was messing with him.

Walking inside one building, another passerby might be shocked when he abruptly tumbles down in front of them after a sharp crack. Looks like a balcony ledge on the building broke.

Oops...

II. Home Improvements

[A. Pest Control]

Zidane's got no problem with the bugs. They seem chill and might make for pretty cool roommates.

What has zero chill though would be the termites, and they were not easy to locate. However, once they were, they were not happy at being uncovered and snapping little assholes.

Looks like some of the bugs didn't like them either however. It's a small battle going on now: Zidane and several bugs vs. termites pouring out of one of the uncovered nests. His daggers are a mess and bug fluid coats his clothes, but he's still going at it. Maybe jump in and help out, or watch from afar. Not everyone wants to get dirty after all.

[B. A Little Pruning]

There's a rustling among the trees, and by now, it could just be the trees shaking, trying to get someone or something away from them. However, the rustling gradually increases. If one looks closely, there's someone actually climbing amongst the branches.

And soon enough, they drop, hanging upside down with some dead leaves dropping to the ground.

"Look out below!"

That call miiight be to whoever's actually stopped and stared.

[C. Tidying Up]

Now, a pathway between trees would normally be tricky to handle, but he's got this.

"Tie that end off and I'll take the rope across."

He's a fast climber and apparently great at tying a good knot. If his partner thought this process might take longer, they'll find they'll be done in no time. Of course, this is just one path and the pathway itself still needed to be laid out. But if things keep going this smoothly, it'll be done in no time.

"Alright! Feels good!"

Zidane's testing the strength by jumping on the rope and fooling around in general. Might need to get him back on track.

III. Dreamscape Tutorial

[Festive Candy Hunt]

Appearing into the dream was... an experience, but the tapirs ask to try decorating the spooky forest for a festival? Oh, Zidane's already grinning. He's been to plenty of festival and he knows just what to do.

Spooky as the forest is, that should be part of it. There need to be some flag party banners across the trees, a big cauldron for cooking, tables, games... oh yeah, he's totally getting into this, and not really changing the environment at all. If someone else there isn't looking to decorate or doesn't know where to start, Zidane might have an idea on what to add.

Or maybe... Zidane's head suddenly whips around because that sounded like a loud clang. Something's landed inside the cauldron he's called. Investigate? And heads up because whatever's behind that sound, there might be more coming.

Asura's tied off his end of the rope securely, and he arcs an eyebrow as the young man--perched so precariously a significant distance from the ground--goofs off by hopping around like a monkey. Cracking a grin, Asura suddenly pulls the rope taut just as Zidane jumps, trying to catch him off-guard.

[First thing's first, Jean felt like he was himself after what felt like a long time. He no longer seemed to have the essence of the Beast, which meant no horns, ears or a tail. At the same time it was a huge relief and also very strange, considering how long he spend wearing that form.

His hair was still on a tiny ponytail though, since it had grown and he hadn't bothered to cut it at any point since it just grew back.

The thing he was also conflicted on was not being sent home. In a way he was glad he could escape the titan world for an even longer time, but... would this place have the opportunity to go back if he felt like he needed to? What if time hadn't stopped back home in this universe and he was just missing from battles?

It was frustrating. He couldn't really settle his mind. It wasn't as if he was panicking, but he was annoyed and antsy, which is why he was making cracks on the ground occasionally wherever he went.]

I-D

[Jean chose the tea with calming his nerves so he was feeling a lot better once he had some of it. It also made him feel a lot more confident that even in this new world, things would be alright.

While he was enjoying his tea his mind drifted off and he started daydreaming. The lamp nearby showed a scene of him deciding to join the survey corps, with even his thoughts voiced out. As someone who joined the military to get to safety, making this situation that changed his life forever was the bravest thing. Sure, he had done a lot of things that also required bravery, especially while fighting against titans, but this was still what impacted him as a person most.]

II-C

[As someone used to heights and flying in the air with maneuver gear, Jean was at home when it came to working in high places. He had the minimum safety precautions and seemed to be doing just fine as he was repairing one of the walkways between the trees.

He has run out of necessary items to repair the walkway though and it would take a lot time to go fetch more. He looks around and spots someone near the planks.]

Oi! Can you get me a few of those planks? I ran out and it would make things faster if you could help.


III-A

[This isn't his first transformation, but it sure is his first transformation into a pumpkin. As he attempts to change back he rolls around the patch. Not because it's fun, but because he's trying to figure out how to turn back from this particular form. With the Beast it was getting easier to control it but he had no idea how to work around this.

And then the mice arrive and Jean is rolling even faster and away from those.]

Leave me alone! I don't want your scribbles all over my face!

(Anya is pretty sad to learn that instead of being sent home after that fight with the Story Eater, she is basically stuck in a new world and she is just as lost as the next person.

She is getting worried for Dmitri the longer she is in other worlds: what if he doesn't wake up or what if he wakes up to see her and Pooka gone from Paris? Will her Grandmama ever try to find her again after just reuniting in over a decade? There are just too many questions she is asking herself. As she is nervous pacing about, she notices that someone else is there outside too.

She proceeds to wave back to Jean and tries to call him.)

Dreambucks Cafe
[Of course Ren was gonna check out a cafe, seeing as he spent a year living in the attic of one. Though this one sadly doesn't serve coffee.

He didn't hate tea, he just preferred coffee. Mainly due to Sojiro's influence.

Still, he tries out of one the teas; Rainy Morning. It tastes pretty good, and as he sits there sipping the tea while eating a cherry pastry, he starts thinking of the past. Days when things were much more innocent and long before he got arrested the first time.]

A small memory plays of a young Ren, who looks no older than eight, is seen playing when the young man spots something ahead. A group of older boys picking on a younger girl, clearly bullying her.

Ren walks up to the group and tries to get between her and the boys. "Leave her alone."

The boys of course don't take well to that and start trying to bully him too, but Ren stands his ground. Eventually an adult spots what's going on and the group leaves, just leaving Ren and the young girl.

She gives Ren a smile. "Thank you."

Ren makes a sheepish smile. "No problem. Just doing the right thing."

[As the daydream continues, Ren has his head resting on an arm. Anyone wanna peek or wake him up?]


A Little Pruning
[Surprisingly enough, he finds he can change into Joker here whenever he wants to. Which comes in handy as there is rotten wood as well as other things hurting these trees.

Joker has his Rebel Knife out pruning at the trees with it. Normally doing so would be like cutting meat to a tree, but this is a dream world and it needs help. So he rolls with it.

He does have his personas if he needs them, though it doesn't always help with things such as rotten fruit dropping down to try to hit him.]

Urg, damn fruit.


Suddenly Pumpkins
[Well...this isn't the first time he found himself turned into something against his will. At least as a mouse he had full control of his movements.

Now he's been turned into a pumpkin.

Ren starts to roll back and forth and as he does, he turns red and a logo appears on the pumpkin body.

Though any attempts to turn himself back is interrupted by having to roll away from some mice, who wanna add to the logo or try to change it.

She only entered Verens when most of it was built back up, so it's not entirely new territory here— but one thing that doesn't change is the coffee and tea shop. Different name, same concept. She doesn't expect to see Peromei coming out of it, but that's fine too. Maybe she'll dip in for something to drink, but...]

Go, Mog!

[Poor Mog. Always used for finding things and to smack things. Poor, poor Mog.

But in this case, Mog was also raring to go to make sure someone didn't get a giant beetle smacking them down, and away he goes, with a very not-so-terrifying cry of KUPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! as he hits the beetle off-balance and he begins to smack at it with his Time Staff.

Serah follows up, extending a hand to the person Mog saved from certain death (okay, maybe not certain death but at least an unpleasnt experience) with a smile.]

You okay? Let's get rid of these things together! Teamwork makes the dream work, right?

[The nice thing about this environment is that she's familiar with similar— thanks, Verens!&— so focusing to make a giant pumpkin pail to catch candy with and floating it isn't... too taxing. But running around with it? That's a little more taxing while using new energy and new methods for this.

[ Some people might be concerned about finding themselves in a new, unknown place. That doesn't apply to Noé, however. He's been wandering around Songerein only for a couple of hours, but his eyes won't stop shining as he spots another exciting thing. Wherever he goes, a trail of sparkles follows. If he happens to touch something, it'll catch the sparkles for a few minutes as well until they slowly fade.

When he finds himself standing in front of Dreambucks cafe, even more sparkles start floating in the air and they're shining quite brightly. Since it might be bothersome to the staff and customers, Noé decides to wait it out in front of the cafe...except every time the sparkles are about to fade and it seems that he has calmed down, something new and exciting catches his attention. ]

Do you happen to know how do I turn these off?

[ Asking a complete stranger is his best bet, apparently. ]

Murr! Come here!

[ Noé should know better than order his cat around. The reason why is he so adamant is simple, though. For some reason, Murr thinks it's a good idea to sit right on top of the giant beetle. Thankfully, it's not aggressive, but it doesn't prevent Noé from being worried about the cat.

Too bad that Murr never listens and instead of jumping off the giant critter, he curls up and decides to take a nap. ]

Ah—!

[ This is bad and gets even worse when the beetle starts shuffling forward in search for some food. Surprisingly, that isn't enough to make a cat drop off its back. Noé follows this odd pair for approximately five minutes until he gets distracted by a beautiful flower he hasn't seen before. So much for keeping an eye on Murr.

As soon as he notices someone, Noé won't shy away from asking: ]

Excuse me, have you seen a white cat...on top of a huge beetle?

[ Perhaps it shouldn't be too surprising that Noé's candy chase ends with him being trapped in a sticky bubble. He's trying to roll around and catch the bubble gum responsible for this, but it's really difficult to move around like this. Every time he's close, the bubble gum manages to get away. During his hunt for bubble gum, Noé bumps into a passerby, trapping them in the sticky bubble as well. ]

I'm terribly sorry, I didn't mean to run into you. I think roll into you might be more accurate in this case...

[ The bubble gum does a victory dance just a few steps away from them, but Noé is too busy apologizing and figuring out the semantics. ]

[[OoC: One thing of note for those interested in tagging Toge; he has a canon ability called Cursed Speech, which, when he uses it, can force a compulsion on another person for a brief period of time (eg: if he says "don't move", the targeted person won't be able to move for a brief period of time). He speaks in riceball ingredients to not accidentally use it on anyone (salmon = yes, kombu = hello, etc), which may impede some of his verbal communications a little bit. I don't foresee a scenario where he will use his Cursed Speech on anyone here in the TDM, but if you are not wanting your character to undergo having him use it on them, just let me know and I will avoid using it!]]

Exploring Town
[Once he has his bearings about him, Toge will go around the town, taking in the strange sights around him. It certainly looks like something crafted from a fairy tale, and even in its ruined state he can see the fantastical whimsy of the little town.]

[But while he takes a seat near some rubble, taking a break from walking, he hears a chattering nearby. Looking around, he notices an odd-looking squirrel poking its head out and looking at him. It tilts its head at Toge. Toge tilts his head back.]

Kombu?

[The squirrel chitters at him. Then, it darts forward. He jumps a little, but despite his mild flailing, the squirrel crawls up his back and perches on his head. He peaks up at it, but it seems to contently sit in his hair.]

…Salmon.

[Well. This is a thing, he supposes.]

Dreambucks Cafe - Rainy Morning
[What a cute little cafe. Toge takes a moment to admire the dreamy decor and stare at the fairies flitting around taking orders and offering refreshments. And fortunately, they don’t seem to have much of a problem with his lack of a verbal response when they ask for his own order, content to accept how he just points at one of the pastries and at the teas on the menu. Once he’s sitting down, he carefully lowers his collar so he can sip at the tea. It’s a good blend, but as he drink it, he finds his mind beginning to wander.]

[Those who notice him daydreaming, and decide to dive into his daydream, will see an abandoned shopping complex, the air tense with apprehension. There is Toge, looking a little younger and with spiky hair rather than long and combed smooth, standing next to a black-haired boy with a gash over one eye.]

Mustard leaf!?

Yeah, I’m fine! It just grazed me.

[The younger Toge looks relieved, then lets out a breath and then holds up a hand.]

Salmon.

[The other boy blinks in surprise, before smiling and giving a high-five.]

Yeah! Nice job!

[As the daydream comes to an end, Toge shakes his head a little, and looks off at nothing.]

…Tuna mayo.

Pest Control
[Living in a treehouse… that certainly is something out of a dream or fairytale, isn’t it? But those giant beetles definitely create a few problems for those who are wanting to move into their chosen dwelling. Fortunately, many of the bugs can merely be shooed away with a stick or a waving of his arms, but those termites gnawing on the roots of the trees? Those prove to be a little harder to get away, requiring a more permanent solution.]

[Toge unzips and pulls down the collar of his uniform, and he takes a slow breath as the air hits his face. Facing the stubborn, hostile bugs, he opens his mouth, letting his Cursed Speech flow through him.]

Explode.

[The termites before him suddenly stop mid-movement, bodies rippling a little before it suddenly explodes with a resounding splat! Toge looks down at his clothes and winces. Gross… well, he can wash up later. And hopefully whoever is nearby isn’t splattered with bug guts.]

[Toge brings a hand up to his throat and coughs into his shoulder, wincing as the backlash of his technique burns at his throat. Whoever he’s working with might need to cover him while he nurses his sore throat.]

Arrival
[When he realizes he has woken up in this strange new world, rather than in the one that he had been calling home for the better part of a year, Roxas’s first instinct is to reach up and feel his head. So used to feeling the feel of canine ears, it actually feels strange to run his hand through his hair and not have them obscured by anything. A glance down at his hands, devoid of claws, and a lack of a tail behind him confirms that he’s no longer in Aefenglom anymore.]

[The tapirs are not the strangest of otherworldly guides, but they do rank a little high up there. So, this is a dream? Was it part of the Realm of Sleep? Hard to say, but once he has his information and his bearings, he’ll brush himself off and look to whoever is nearby.]

This is pretty strange, huh? I can’t say I’ve been to a world like this.

[He’s travelled to all kinds of worlds, but the Realm of Sleep? He hasn’t personally explored it. So it’s pretty new to him.]

Dreamotion Abilities
[One of the first things Roxas does is re-summons his Keyblades, feeling a sense of familiarity and reassurance at the magic thrumming through them. He had Oathkeeper and Oblivion in Aefenglom, but feeling the power within them, and even the simple act of dismissing and re-summoning them made him let out a breath of relief, a piece that had been missing slotting back into his heart.]

[That happiness that courses through him warms him to the core, in more ways than one. When he actually dismisses his Keyblades and looks around, he blinks in surprise as he realizes a small grove of flowers have bloomed around him, and his entire body feels warm and slightly glowing. Like he’s emitting the glow from a mid-afternoon sun.]

Woah…

[As soon as he realizes what’s happened, the glow fades, but the tingling of magic remains in his hands. He looks down at his hands, bewildered.]

Did I do that..?

[It was such a strange phenomenon, that he wants to see if he can replicate it. He can be found in this little grove of flowers, trying to see if he can reproduce what had just happened. Maybe you notice him and want to say hi?]

A Little Pruning
[Roxas doesn’t mind helping to prune some of the trees, getting rid of the old, rotting wood to help give the living branches some room to grow. But those trees sure are grumpy, and while he’s trying to prune some of the dead wood, it’s only through quick reflexes he’s able to duck out of the way of a sudden swat from one of the nearby trees.]

Woah! Hey!!

[He glares up at the offending branch, which sways innocently in the wood.]

Cut it out! I’m trying to help here!

[He tries to go back to work, but those trees keep swatting angrily at him. They’re clearly annoyed, and now he’s getting annoyed. He might need some help here.]

[Sayaka has seen weirder things. She's seen far creepier places, too, so this wasn't actually even that bad. What she was more worried about was suddenly being here and not helping out Madoka with her duties... especially since this didn't appear to be their world at all.

For now, she seemed calm as she explored the town. The explanation the tapir had to offer was sufficient enough. She would have to find more information later - especially on how to go back home since they had important matters to take care off.

She ends up staring at small rainbow colored cats before a double tailed bird, clearly trying to either eat or play with them chases them away. Talk about role reversal...]

I can see why it's a dream though.

[She's mostly talking to herself, but loud enough for anyone to hear.]

[The rotten fruit and stuff are very gross and she knows a certain red magical girl who would hate to see this. Which makes her all the more determined to clear out the bad stuff to help the good grow. She could probably use her swords, but instead she's using what is provided to her... and a bit of that dreamotion to help things out.

Things are going well until a particularly strong vine is giving her a bit trouble. She is pulling but the tree she currently working with is very, very stubborn it seems.]

[Is that really her? Maybe it's an illusion. She's--- They just had to--- This can't be real, right? Well, of course not, this is a dream and Madoka should wake up as soon as possible, but is she really here too?? Hi, best blue friend, one best pink friend closing any distance between you and herself as soon as her legs start working again.]

I. D. Dreambucks Cafe

[ Now this is the place to be. Marui is keeping those poor tea fairies quite busy as there is a veritable mountain of empty cake plates courtesy of his bottomless pit of a stomach. 40? 50? It's hard to count there are so many.

Whatever the number, he's still eating them and shows no signs of slowing down except to glance at someone nearby and lift the saucer he's holding with his half-eaten cake piece indicatively. ]

Hey, have you had this one? It's seriously good!

II. A. Pest Control.

[ Marui has found a great little treehouse that mostly resembles a modern cottage with staircase access and a tire swing hanging from one of the branches underneath. That one's definitely his! The giant bugs are for the most part a bemusing nuisance, but the termites have got to go. One of them is flying his way now, seeming to have targeted his new home for its lunch.

Technically, he has a perfectly functional swatter in his racket, but there's no way he's ruining his gut strings like that when he's also got a perfectly functional spare tennis ball hiding in his bag. He blows a bubble of his green apple bubble gum as he tosses the ball in the air, takes a last glance at the trajectory of the termite, and hits an overhead smash cleanly into its face. Direct hit!

The termite goes down, but in the course of it, the tennis ball also manages to lightly bonk someone on the head on its way back to the ground. ]

Oops...! Sorry, sorry. Mind tossing that back here? [ He grins. ]

III. B. Festive Candy Hunt.

[ The whole thing with the pumpkins was weird as heck, like some horrific wrong turn off of Cinderella Road, but now that he's human-shaped again and in a battle with candy, he's in his element. It's not that he's forgotten the real reason he's here, but as long as the candy needed to be dealt with anyway, it's impossible to turn away that challenge when he's so perfectly suited to it (and it looks way more fun than changing leaf colors, that doesn't hurt either).

He's tricked the chocolate into melting over the taffy traps and negating their stickiness. He's sidestepped the jawbreaker boulder, and even scared off a swarm of flying candy corn through his sheer intention of eating them if caught. Now he sees the final challenge threatening to encase another dreamwalker in what is definitely the biggest gum bubble Marui has ever seen-- and he's seen a lot of them.

Marui swipes up a stick on the ground, sprints over, and pokes the giant bubble, causing it to blow open and backwards away from them. No sticky, but the pop was a bit loud that close, and the airburst palpable against the skin.

Maybe the person actually needed help or maybe they had it under control and Marui just stole their thunder out of his own excitement. It hardly matters. He blows a (much smaller) bubble of the gum he's chewing and looks at them with his standard V-sign and wink pose. ]

Well? Wasn't that ingenious?

[It's impressive that the ball can hit someone who's 190 cm tall. But it does with a bonk and Jean is on alert by the sudden 'attack' ... until he sees the cause is a tiny ball. Of course. No one was attacking him. Calm down.

Fiddling with journals in a new town.
[ This was quite the unexpected change of pace. It feels like he was just getting used to the ways of the Index, though he must have been there for at least a year now. Sure, he'll manage, but he does feel just a little bit jumpy at the moment.

You'd feel jumpy too if you suddenly found yourself in a prisoner's garb when you only told at least two people you've ever been to prison.

Oh well, it's not like there's too many people here. Gives him enough time to settle on an old bench and fiddle with these things he's been gifted- Namely, a new journal and some kind of tiny dark lantern. Curious how they appear and vanish so readily, it makes him fear he might forget how they do that one time. Maybe he'll make a note... If he can figure out how this journal works. Better to warn people. ]

While I am familiar with the concept of journals that function as instant messaging devices, the last notebook of this nature I owned was somewhat different from this one. I'm still adjusting to the way this world works. Please bear with me if I accidentally write notes in the wrong section.

[ He heard there was a tea that causes you to dream about your memories. As someone attempting to regain lost memories, that Rainy Morning flavor was practically calling his name!

Unfortunately, after drinking half of that lovely tea, all he can see in his dream lantern is the flickering image of himself in fine clothing chattering excitedly with... Someone? Somewhere? And there were notes or something? He's trying to focus in on the daydream, but everything other than him is a blurred reflection. The person he's talking to doesn't even have a face.

He takes another sip of the tea and continues staring intently. ] C'mon...

Candy? Nah, only SCIENCE!
[ Give a man of science absolute control over his surroundings, and what does he do? Well, other than put himself in a nicer outfit, the first thing he conjures up is some kind of machine that's about as tall as he is. The wheel spins at a constant pace. The marbles clack pleasantly against the wood as the motion rolls them back and forth.

It's rather pleasant to look at, in Luca's opinion. ]

. . . Hm, this does make for a useful model. [ He murmurs to himself. ] If only I could take this out of the dream and replicate it in real life...

[ He turns to the nearest person and smiles. ] I mean, it wouldn't be hard to build it from scratch, right?

A. Magic Journals

The last time I actually wrote in any journal was for school and that seems like a hell of a long time ago.

Just to test this out, anyone who can read this, raise your hand.

[That might seem like a rather odd request, but Zhao is testing the range and to see if anyone near him might be able to pick up the message. Also to assess any potential threats because dreams aren't just about sunshine and rainbows.]

B. Tea time is sleep time

[He's more of a booze drinker, but he also enjoys coffee and the occasional tea. This one's pretty good, but strangely he can't pick out the notes of what each of the flavors means. But while he's trying to puzzle that out, he slips into a daydream. One he doesn't realize might be visible to everyone around...

It looks like the floor of an office building with beautiful glass windows to view the outside. It's very high up wherever this is and the view outside shows a vast glittering city, but also stormclouds that turn the sky black.

Zhao is there, but so are five other people. All of them are looking toward one figure in particular, a tall man with a maroon suit and a shock of frizzy hair. He seems to be giving a little speech and then winds it up...]

There's no going back now. We're going up there and we're going to WIN THIS SHIT!

[All of them file into an elevator without hesitation toward whatever difficulty is about to smack them in the face.]

C. Pruning time

[He hadn't planned on doing gardening into order to find a place to crash, but you adapted to your craziness, right? So Zhao is idly slashing some dead wood and vines with a very sharp Chinese saber. And also cussing out the trees as he's actively smacked.]
