I. WELCOME TO SONGEREIN

A. Magic Journals. Everyone will find a journal stylized just for them on their person somewhere and it's the primary means of communication with everyone. The only limitation is that it's text only, but images can be magically imprinted on the page from the writer's mind. Might as well give it a whirl and see who all is out there.
B. Dreamotion Abilities. Although everyone maintains most of their original abilities while in Songerein, they are also capable of using special abilities based on dreamotion energy. From having their emotions affecting the environment to utilizing new abilities entirely, it's probably something that they should start familiarizing fairly quickly. Especially since all the emotional surprise and confusion may already be affecting things, such as random glass shattering or cracks forming at one's feet.
C. Exploring Town. The town of Reverein is small but still sizable, so walking around and to see what all there is might be a good idea. The town is empty of any other people and it's relatively safe aside from most of the buildings looking like they're about to collapse in on itself, but there are a few small fae and small wild critters who have made a few nests so just watch your step—or head. Some could venture out to the farmlands and beyond...but anyone who gets too close to the Wildlands will encounter a tapir who will tell them to go back for now. Be warned if anyone tries to ignore and push past them.

There are three different types of teas available:
Rainy Morning. After drinking this tea, one might feel a little melancholic or nostalgic for something from their past. They might even have a short little daydream of a distant memory.
Summer Afternoon. This tea will make anyone feel more vigorous and joyful. So much so they might start shining like the summer sun itself! Any dreams influenced by the tea will be one of a happy occasion or a hopeful dream.
Autumn Evening. Brewed with special strong, herbal spices, this tea has a bit more of a kick to it, but it's also warm and is great for calming nerves while giving just enough of a confidence boost to get through whatever difficulties lie ahead. The dreams influenced by this tea will reflect when the drinker has been their bravest.

Although it doesn't always happen, sometimes the tea will be a strong enough influence that it will make the drinker daydream for a bit. Anyone nearby may notice their dream crystal lantern flicker and catch a brief glimpse of the daydream on it. Or perhaps those who want to try out their dream crystal lanterns are deliberately trying to see if their dreams are captured. Only daydreams influenced by the tea can be caught and even then it's just a brief glimpse, but it's still an interesting way to see how the dream crystal lanterns work.
Note: There is no currency in the world and everything served is free at this time. However it might not be immediately obvious and the fairies won't mind if customers repay in some way, be it helping out via cleaning and serving, giving gifts such as flowers or fruits, or something else.
II. HOME IMPROVEMENTS
The entire town is in need of a massive fixer upper, but one of the first areas everyone will likely want to start is the residential area to figure out their new homes. Instead of houses, most of the homes are in the trees. Be it a treehouse or carved into the tree itself, various dwellings can be found. Unfortunately, there are some unwanted guests making a mess of things, so they will need to be cleared out.

B. A Little Pruning. The trees themselves are a little...testy in large part of the bugs that have been chowing down on them. After the bugs are cleared they will calm down and become more passive, but until then everyone will also have to beware of wild swinging branches, rotten fruit falling, and roots suddenly springing up from the ground. Another way to appease the trees is cutting out some of the old, rotten wood and giving the trees some pruning, especially any vines that are choking some to death. Positive dreamotion energy will also help revitalize the area.
C. Tidying Up. Once the area is clear, the new residents can start cleaning up and repairing the different houses there. From repairing walkways connecting the trees, to the stairs and ladders that lead up to the treehouses, to decluttering and repairing the buildings, there's a plethora of work that needs to be done.
III. DREAMSCAPE TUTORIAL
To help everyone understand their dreamwalking abilities, the tapirs will ask anyone who is willing to gather around the Dream Swings in the Central Plaza. There anyone is invited to sit in the chairs or hammocks and focus on their dream crystal lanterns to enter a special dreamscape made just for them. Those watching might find the sight of everyone suddenly turning into a colorful ball of light and disappearing alarming, but that's just the normal process of entering a dream. When someone leaves the dream, they will briefly reappear as that light before returning to their original form. The theme for this dreamscape is Spooky Forest and it first starts in a pumpkin patch before moving to a dark, fog filled forest.

B. Festive Candy Hunt. At some point the tapirs come in and ask the dreamwalkers to try and change the spooky forest into something a little more festive. They are given free rein to change the environment in how they see fit. Of course, this means the dreamwalkers need to figure out how to focus their energy and imagination to make those changes. Perhaps starting small by adding decorations or changing the colors of the leaves is a good starting place. But there may be some difficulty as some rogue candy is messing things up and getting in the way. Capable of movement, they will dash, roll, and even fly to evade capture. They will also try and defend themselves using special "attacks" based on what they are. Chocolate will make melted chocolate puddles, taffy will make sticky traps, bubble gum will try and encase people in a sticky bubble—might want to avoid the giant jawbreaker as it's more of a bodybreaker. Fortunately once caught, the candy will change to its more normal form. Maybe altering the environment could work to their advantage. If successful in either decorating or catching the candy, there will be some kind of reward later.

What?
[Did. Did he hear that right?? But the little puppies are also attracted to the voice and one even starts running up to her.]
no subject
Giving a delighted little noise, she crouches down on the ground and holds out a hand to it as she beams. ]
Ahhh, it's so cute! Are they yours?
no subject
You know, he's just going to let it slide and instead watch as the puppy happily sniffs and licks the hand before trying to jump into the young girl's arms. A few of the other pups have also bounded over in curiosity, and the mother is still watching them warily...but she isn't growling.]
...No, I just found them here.
[And as Nanako may discover, while the dirt is not part of the pup, those flowers that cover its coat are! Including the dandelions on its head that makes it look like a partial flower crown.]
no subject
There's so many! And look! they have flowers on them! I've never seen a flower puppy before!
no subject
...Jealous...
Ahem ahem he shakes away that brief and totally strange thought and walks over to try and prevent her from getting smothered by them.]
Likewise. I was following the mother thinking they were just stuck on her, but...
[He manages to pick up a puppy and quick gently run of his fingers through the coat is enough to tell them they aren't loose.]
It seems to be part of them.
[Ah. And now the puppy his licking his fingers. ... ... ... So cute...! And yet Eustace looks so awkward and stiff.]
no subject
Nanako is still giggling, surrounded by enthusiastic puppies, although at least she can better pet them now that Eustace has taken one to snuggle for himself. ]
They're really little, huh? Do you think they're okay out here like this?
no subject
Other than feeling a bit thin and in dire need of a bath, they seem to be healthy enough...but I'm not a vet and they would need to be looked at.
...But is there even one around...?
[And would a normal vet be able to look into what he's assuming now to be some kind of fairy dog? He frowns as he slowly scratches the pup's ears.]
I'm also not sure how dangerous or safe this place is. The fact that the mother has managed to keep this many alive is a good sign, but things can always change. It would be better if they had real shelter and care.
no subject
[ It's strange. Not even her arrival in the Far Shore had been surrounded by this many new arrivals - and practically no one that had been here longer than her. She wondered what had happened to everyone who had lived here before? There were so many empty and dilapidated buildings after all. Surely someone had to have built them...? ]
Maybe we can take them back to town and find them somewhere safer to stay? [ She muses this aloud as she cuddles one of the puppies once more, settling down on the ground and letting the others climb over her la and tumble in the dirt around her as they played. ] We can probably watch over them better there, too!
no subject
[He...doesn't know if he'll be able to watch after them, but after finding this little family and everything the way it is, he can't bring himself to ignore it, either...]
Stay here. I'll find something to carry the pups in.
no subject
[ That should totally count for puppies, too, in her opinion. ]
...Do we need something to carry them in? Can't we just carry them? [ She squints down at the squirming balls of fur and then rethinks that. Maybe something else to carry them is a good idea after all... ]
no subject
Just keep them occupied.
no subject
[ She's quick to reassure him with a bright smile as she turns her attention to playing with the squirming puppies who are still enthusiastic for all the attention they can soak up. Which she gives them, giggling and petting and dodging more puppy kisses in between.
This is clearly the Best Day Ever. ]

But anyway he has a task to do. He quietly walks off, and though it's a little bit away, he eventually finds the cart he had seen. With two wheels and a pull bar, this should be doable. Better than trying to push a three wheeled wheelbarrow.
After checking to be sure nothing was broken or any exposed nails or wood, he returns to the group, pulling the cart behind him. Hearing the wheels, one or two pups run off to greet him, barking excitedly with their little tails wagging.
...Cute......]
no subject
[ The puppies start bounding off before she realizes he's coming back and she scrambles after them, worried she's going to lose them after she promised she'd take care of them. But then she realizes he's back with a cart and she relaxes again. ]
Oh! That will work really good, mister!
no subject
It should fit all of them including the mother. You could ride on it if you wanted as well.
[And now pulling a stop and picking up one of the pups.
...Aaah, this really is like a dream...]
no subject
I think I'll be okay. I wanna make sure they have enough room! And their mommy, too!
[ She glances over to where the larger dog is still stretched out, watching them intently. Patting the back of the cart, she beams. ]
Come one, Mommy Dog! We're gonna take you somewhere nicer than out here!
no subject
...Hold on, I'll help. Take it easy.
[He'll be polite and let her look and sniff at him before she seems to allow him to approach. Carefully he scoops her up, noting her light weight before carefully setting her down. As if realizing something, he then unclasps his cloak and sets it down on the wagon, arranging it so she can lie down on it instead along with the pups.]
That should do for now. Let's put them in.
no subject
Is she sick?
no subject
[Since no one really "lived" here, would it be correct to call her a stray or even domesticated? Or is she a natural wild dog who chose to live within the safety of the town instead of the forest because of her pups?]
Even if she could hunt she wouldn't be able to go far, and since they are by the riverbank...perhaps fish has been their main diet.
[Which sounds strange, but these dogs are clearly not what either of them are used to. For all he knows, fish could be their main food??]
We'll have to see if anyone knows anything about animals in general. Keep an eye out for anything that could be useful as we head back.
[He doesn't know if there could be any food in the buildings or even if it would be safe to have, but there could be other things they could take such as blankets, brushes, towels—whatever could be used to take care of the dogs.]
