✵ TEST DRIVE MEME ✵
Reminder that our Test Drive Memes double as an Intro Log and threads can be carried over in-game. They are also required for samples. Refer to the Game Info for general information and feel free to toss any TDM related questions here. Reserves open on August 25th and Applications open on September 1st. Our application cycles are bi-monthly so the next cycle won't be until November.
I. WELCOME TO SONGEREIN

A. Magic Journals. Everyone will find a journal stylized just for them on their person somewhere and it's the primary means of communication with everyone. The only limitation is that it's text only, but images can be magically imprinted on the page from the writer's mind. Might as well give it a whirl and see who all is out there.
B. Dreamotion Abilities. Although everyone maintains most of their original abilities while in Songerein, they are also capable of using special abilities based on dreamotion energy. From having their emotions affecting the environment to utilizing new abilities entirely, it's probably something that they should start familiarizing fairly quickly. Especially since all the emotional surprise and confusion may already be affecting things, such as random glass shattering or cracks forming at one's feet.
C. Exploring Town. The town of Reverein is small but still sizable, so walking around and to see what all there is might be a good idea. The town is empty of any other people and it's relatively safe aside from most of the buildings looking like they're about to collapse in on itself, but there are a few small fae and small wild critters who have made a few nests so just watch your step—or head. Some could venture out to the farmlands and beyond...but anyone who gets too close to the Wildlands will encounter a tapir who will tell them to go back for now. Be warned if anyone tries to ignore and push past them.

There are three different types of teas available:
Rainy Morning. After drinking this tea, one might feel a little melancholic or nostalgic for something from their past. They might even have a short little daydream of a distant memory.
Summer Afternoon. This tea will make anyone feel more vigorous and joyful. So much so they might start shining like the summer sun itself! Any dreams influenced by the tea will be one of a happy occasion or a hopeful dream.
Autumn Evening. Brewed with special strong, herbal spices, this tea has a bit more of a kick to it, but it's also warm and is great for calming nerves while giving just enough of a confidence boost to get through whatever difficulties lie ahead. The dreams influenced by this tea will reflect when the drinker has been their bravest.

Although it doesn't always happen, sometimes the tea will be a strong enough influence that it will make the drinker daydream for a bit. Anyone nearby may notice their dream crystal lantern flicker and catch a brief glimpse of the daydream on it. Or perhaps those who want to try out their dream crystal lanterns are deliberately trying to see if their dreams are captured. Only daydreams influenced by the tea can be caught and even then it's just a brief glimpse, but it's still an interesting way to see how the dream crystal lanterns work.
Note: There is no currency in the world and everything served is free at this time. However it might not be immediately obvious and the fairies won't mind if customers repay in some way, be it helping out via cleaning and serving, giving gifts such as flowers or fruits, or something else.
II. HOME IMPROVEMENTS
The entire town is in need of a massive fixer upper, but one of the first areas everyone will likely want to start is the residential area to figure out their new homes. Instead of houses, most of the homes are in the trees. Be it a treehouse or carved into the tree itself, various dwellings can be found. Unfortunately, there are some unwanted guests making a mess of things, so they will need to be cleared out.

B. A Little Pruning. The trees themselves are a little...testy in large part of the bugs that have been chowing down on them. After the bugs are cleared they will calm down and become more passive, but until then everyone will also have to beware of wild swinging branches, rotten fruit falling, and roots suddenly springing up from the ground. Another way to appease the trees is cutting out some of the old, rotten wood and giving the trees some pruning, especially any vines that are choking some to death. Positive dreamotion energy will also help revitalize the area.
C. Tidying Up. Once the area is clear, the new residents can start cleaning up and repairing the different houses there. From repairing walkways connecting the trees, to the stairs and ladders that lead up to the treehouses, to decluttering and repairing the buildings, there's a plethora of work that needs to be done.
III. DREAMSCAPE TUTORIAL
To help everyone understand their dreamwalking abilities, the tapirs will ask anyone who is willing to gather around the Dream Swings in the Central Plaza. There anyone is invited to sit in the chairs or hammocks and focus on their dream crystal lanterns to enter a special dreamscape made just for them. Those watching might find the sight of everyone suddenly turning into a colorful ball of light and disappearing alarming, but that's just the normal process of entering a dream. When someone leaves the dream, they will briefly reappear as that light before returning to their original form. The theme for this dreamscape is Spooky Forest and it first starts in a pumpkin patch before moving to a dark, fog filled forest.

B. Festive Candy Hunt. At some point the tapirs come in and ask the dreamwalkers to try and change the spooky forest into something a little more festive. They are given free rein to change the environment in how they see fit. Of course, this means the dreamwalkers need to figure out how to focus their energy and imagination to make those changes. Perhaps starting small by adding decorations or changing the colors of the leaves is a good starting place. But there may be some difficulty as some rogue candy is messing things up and getting in the way. Capable of movement, they will dash, roll, and even fly to evade capture. They will also try and defend themselves using special "attacks" based on what they are. Chocolate will make melted chocolate puddles, taffy will make sticky traps, bubble gum will try and encase people in a sticky bubble—might want to avoid the giant jawbreaker as it's more of a bodybreaker. Fortunately once caught, the candy will change to its more normal form. Maybe altering the environment could work to their advantage. If successful in either decorating or catching the candy, there will be some kind of reward later.

Ryunosuke Naruhodo | The Great Ace Attorney
I-Aish
[It has been some time since he felt this... this indescribable feeling of being surrounded by so many new things all at once. It's breathtaking and overwhelming... leaving Ryunosuke both excited and, admittedly, somewhat anxious. Emotions that cause both bright sparkles of light around him as well as a slight crackling of static electricity.
Dreams are one thing, but this is no simple dream. His mind isn't creating this-- no talk of beasts or reapers should result in this.... conjuring talking animals or talk of emotional powers. Unless there was something strange in the food last night (and he really hopes there wasn't), he really doesn't think his mind is capable of all this.
The important things he expects to be with him are here-- the Japanese katana "Karma", his jet black uniform and travel cloak and the Lawyer armband high on his arm. The rest of his luggage, apparently, didn't make the trip unfortunately. But he's almost glad to not have to drag all that weight along behind him. But he notices an extra weight in his travel cloak. Unravelling it as he walks, he finds something that he wasn't expecting-- a journal.]
...What's this? I don't remember packing-- ah!!
[Examining things while walking isn't recommended. Maybe he bumped into your-- or perhaps you're just an observer as you watch him trip and fall quite spectacularly over one of the Plaza's benches surrounding the fountain.]
I-C
Woah...
[Ryunosuke wasn't sure what he expected-- so anything probably would have surprised him a bit. But this place is... a lot. And coming from someone who had grown accustomed to the Great Detective's living spaces... that's something. The scent of tea fills the cafe and it brings a smile to his face. He can't help but miss his friends, even if their parting was still recent.
He decides that seeing as this is a dream, even a strange one, it should be fine to order a cup.]
I'd like to try the Autumn Evening, if you don't mind.
[But with everyone being encouraged to check this place out, it gets pretty crowded. He can't really justify having a table all to himself, so-- maybe it's time to try and make some new friends. So, turning to the nearest person sitting on their own--]
I'm sorry, but-- would you mind if I joined you?
II-C
[Not wanting anything to do with the bugs or the trees leaves Ryunosuke with... tidying up. Not his greatest skill. Dust and dirt leaves him coughing every time he tries to move too much all at once-- and that cloud of dirt and dust might just be big enough to catch innocent bystanders too. Once the coughing subsides he sighs, scratching his cheek.]
S-sorry! Sorry... this is... definitely not my finest work.
Wildcard
[Drag him into literally anything you want, you have my permission. If you want to grab me for wildcard purposes or whatever, you can find me at
I-C
Of course! Welcome, stranger, sit with me~

...Natsume-san probably would have loved it if that could be him... Ryunosuke gets lost in his thoughts a moment too long before realizing he's been staring without saying anything the past fifteen seconds or so.]
...O-oh! Right... thanks!
[Ryunosuke takes a seat across from him after bowing his head politely-- if not a bit too quickly, after realizing he was staring.]
I'm Ryunosuke Naruhodo... what's your name?
no subject
Shu☆zo at your service! It's a pleasure to meet you~
no subject
[Do you say the "☆"? Is that even a noise he can make?]
Right-- it's nice to meet you too.
no subject
[You heard it, that's all that matters!]
What did you get to drink? Would you like to try some of the cake?
no subject
[He hadn't thought to inquire about the rest of the menu, but now that it's been brought up...]
...well I wouldn't mind a little, if you don't mind.
no subject
[He has both a fork and a spoon, and offers the spoon to Ryunosuke, smiling as he does.]
Let's eat!
no subject
[It's only fair, since he's sharing his cake after all. Taking the spoon, he carves out a small corner of the cake and takes a bite. The look on his face says he likes it, even if his mouth is still full.]
no subject
It's delicious! Like an explosion of chocolate in my mouth!

[He takes a sip of his tea and smiles.]
so what do you do? Besides dreams, I mean!

I'm impressed, that you somehow managed to make things worse.
no subject
Well I wanted to help somehow-- It's not that bad, is it?
[...yet he looks almost immediately, so it's obvious even he was worried. It could be worse, but it's certainly an impressive mess.]
...great, it's everywhere now. [...haaah.] Back to square one.
[But now that the minor avalanche is over, the things his brain simply accepted clicked into place and he jumps slightly, turning his head towards his friend.]
.........K-Kazuma?! How long have you...?
no subject
Before you unleashed that dust storm. [His nose scrunches slightly from the lingering dust as he comes closer to examine Ryunosuke's "work".] Why not try focusing in one area and work your way around?
no subject
He sighs.]
...so you watched me, pretty much knowing that was going to happen. [There's plenty of fondness in his exasperation, before he goes back to looking at the mess.] Yeah, I guess that's really the quickest way. If you start at that end and I work from this end, we can probably get this done in no time.
no subject
Hm, already volunteering me to do your work, I see. [He will start walking to the other end of the room though. It's been so long and yet, he can still find the retort to tease Ryunosuke. In a way, it almost feels like they're just continuing from where they left off.]
no subject
[...although it's already proven to be a "show" thanks to his poor choices earlier. He's just... not going to mention that and hope Kazuma lets it slide.]
no subject
no subject
[He'd been so busy trying to figure out what to do next that it never really occurred to him that the people he knew might be here too.]
Sorry-- I hope I wasn't too difficult to find.
no subject
It wouldn't be like you to just sit around.
no subject
We've been through a lot in the past months but this... even I don't know what to do with this. Just when I finally thought I knew what I was doing.
[It's a little funny, in an ironic way. Maybe that's because it's hard to really grasp what the full gravity of this weird adventure is yet. There's just too much he doesn't know. However--]
...but I'm sure between the two of it, it's nothing we can't handle.

[ That's a large cloud of dust in the air. Nier immediately starts coughing and wheezing when it reaches him. He takes a moment to recollect himself and takes in a deep breath. ]
..Okay. Do you need help with anything?
[ It looks like Ryunosuke could use a hand over there. ]
[ an ooc note that i'm fine with tgaa2 spoilers or anything else so feel free to use them! ]
no subject
[Looking around for something to help clear the air, Ryunosuke finds a nearby window and pries it open to let out some of the dust.]
There... hopefully that should help.
[It does seem to carry out at least some of the dust that had been lingering in the air.]
Cleaning isn't really my strong suit so any help would be much appreciated. It's gonna take some work to make this place comfortable to live in.
( Perfect thank you!! )

[ Nier nods to Ryunosuke and seems more than eager to help out judging by the expression on his face. ]
What's your name? I'm Nier.
