Though I cannot confirm it, I would not be shocked. He seems to talk about this friend of his in a similar way that makes me think of when I talk about you. It seems like he tries to hide it, but the underlying feeling I got was that he is more than happy to put up with Hythlodaeus's meddling.

Well, I'm always happy to be a mote of adventure for you. All I need to do now is work on my swimming.
I'm happy to note that I only sink half as much. I'll be one with the sea soon enough and we can go treasure-hunting.
