[Semi-Closed] Catching Up
Who: G'raha Tia & Various people
Which: Semi-closed log
Where: Various locations
What: An August catch-all post. This is mostly closed to specific people, but if anyone wants to do anything with G'raha, I am happy to start a TL. Feel free to poke me on plurk (
byefelicia) if you are interested.
Warnings: As always, there will likely be Shadowbringers & Endwalker spoilers in comments. I will mark them accordingly. I have an opt-out post with options to tell me how far you are in the game. Please make use of this if you are still playing. You do not need to opt-out completely, but just telling me where you are in the story helps me a lot to know what I can or cannot talk about.

Thancred
Ah, you'll have to excuse them. They're adjusting to the new living environment. What would you prefer to drink?
[Heading towards the kitchen, he beckoned Thancred to follow as Topaz silently followed them around aside from it's tiny footsteps clicking behind them. Rhodonite was idly lying down on the couch, taking everything in. Emerald was the only one not in the area, no doubt looking around at it's new home.]
Re: Thancred
That is... a few carbuncles. How did you end up with so many?
Also, tea, please.
no subject
Ah, well. [Letting out a small sigh.] They were Merisia's carbuncles, but she's since woken up. I couldn't leave them all alone, so I brought them here.
[Coming out with a cup for both of them, he took a seat at the table nearest to them. Offering his cup, he set it down before him.]
no subject
[He sighs, visits here seem fleeting, in their own way.]
So you gained custody of three carbuncles... and you're living with Madhuri...
[He grins.]
Did I miss the wedding?
no subject
W-Wedding?! I- That's not... Where did you get that idea?!
[Gods. And like most things, living together with Madhuri has been great, but hearing it said out loud was different.]
I-I assure you, there has been so such thing! [Yet.]
no subject
G'raha, my friend.
You're living with her. And have three aether children. Granted, they're adopted, but still. Three. Children.
no subject
C-Carbuncles hardly count as children.
[He's not fighting the "you're living with her" part of it, though. The room grew hotter as steam started to form around him.]

Hythlodaeus; [Endwalker spoilers likely]
Do you need a hand with anything?
[It was better to see where he can help than find something to do if something was already being worked on. Better to help out where he can.]
I.... I thought I tagged this...
Ah, indeed I do.
[He gestures out to the water.]
I must confess, I'm not used to examining creatures in the way the survey would like outside of a controlled environment. [A wry smile.] And it's been longer than I'd like since I've looked at an aquatic creature in the water.
No worries! It happens.
[He paused for a moment before considering...]
Elpis, perhaps?
[Not that he personally knew anything about it beyond what the Warrior of Light told him. Maybe Amaurot?]
no subject
[Hythlodaeus shakes his head.]
Not for our step in the process, anyway. The Bureau of the Architect deals primarily in the cataloguing and initial evaluation of concepts for approval. Purpose, structure, suitability, innovation vs innovation, and so on and so forth. The simplest way to explain is that we judge the idea while they test the reality.
[With multiple other bureaucracy-based complexities here and there amongst other things, but he's likely to give himself a headache if he starts getting into all that.]
As such, we have several testing chambers for our evaluations. Nothing too spectacular, but containing all we need to suit our purposes, as well as concept crystals to draw upon should we require anything extra.
no subject
[It wasn't something that he was familiar with, but the ancients were remarkable beings. It wasn't entirely surprising to hear they held sway over which creatures existed.]
Would you require anything in order to catelogue the creatures found here? I would be happy to assist however I can. What are these concept crystals like?
[He could take a number of guesses, but he's just as interested in hearing about it from someone who knows about the topic better.]
no subject
A tank to place the creatures in should be enough. It may not be the most efficient way, but hopefully it will allow us to gather a sufficient amount of data.
As for your other question... While one might be able to conjure up whatsoever he desires from his own thoughts and memory, bringing forth that which someone else has thought up is another matter entirely.
Thus were concept crystals conceived to hold all the information needed to bring forth a creation the way its creator intended, whether it be as simple as a new set of robes or as complex as a confluence.

Madhuri
So come a little later that day, the door to their house will open with some friends in tow. Nothing was strange about him returning home, but want about that bright, sparkly familiar that dashed towards Madhuri while she was in the kitchen making something? New friend? Rhodonite and Topaz were otherwise following alongside G'raha, hesitantly checking out the house as he closed the door behind them.]
Madhuri? Are you home?
no subject
She was in mid-sip when some sparkly green creature tip-tapped its way into the kitchen. She forgot for a moment to swallow, wondering what a carbuncle was doing here.
Madhuri swallowed, enjoying a mingling of mango and lime when she heard a familiar voice.]
I am! ...Erm... Hairaa, there's a carbuncle in the kitchen...
no subject
Ah, I see you've met Emerald already.
[Emerald wagged its tail eagerly, hopping in place before her. It's way of saying hi? Or maybe just pets. It's probably just asking for pets.]
I hope you don't mind. There's been... some developments... [Which is to say that Merisia is gone.]
no subject
...Did someone else wake up?
[Asked quietly.]
Zidane awoke not long ago. His chocobo is under a friend's care.
no subject
... Yeah. Merisia woke up. I was surprised to see these little guys still hanging around. It didn't feel right to leave them on their own.
[Emerald looked up at him curiously. Maybe because it heard its master's name? Straightening back up, he glanced back to her.]
Zidane too, huh? Well, I hope his world is peaceful enough.
no subject
[She bowed her head, smile warm.]
Very peaceful. His Queen has waited long enough. If Y'shtola works out travel between the shards, I should like to check up on him and see if the doofus married her already.
[The xaela hunkered down to join in stroking the chin of the little green critter.]

Hmm! Think we're good here?
Yep!
Ren; [Backdated; Probably Shadowbringer & Endwalker spoilers]
so late i'm so sorry ;; health hiatus threw me for a loop...
G'raha. ( he steps to the side, cocking his head to invite the other man inβ ) You're just in time, the coffee's already on.
Your health is important. No worries <3
Ah, thank. You for inviting me over. What fortunate timing.
<3
( ren. ren please. that was
months agoa terrible joke. not even one those from outside the realm of earth would even appreciate... )Anyway, glad you could make it. Sorry if I left you hanging last time, sometimes the details can get a bit... strange, and you never know who may be listening.
Brain fart :<
I understand. Well, we have plenty of time to talk about it.
mb too, my life is a mess, sob... care to fade out on this half-way through his tale... like so?
( he moved to take a seat, knowing that this would take awhile, so... might as well get comfortable? )
It all started with a castle, but things really started to take off once the talking cat got involved. ( and there he was, starting to recount his story again, sparing the details that would only spare the victims their dignity as he described the first two of society's worstβ a perverted King and a jealous Mentor, but more importantly... the allies he forged bonds with along the way. )
And that's right before the... wait, is that... the time? ( be blinked, not looking at any sort of clock which would make sense, but instead, out the window. )
It seems... a got a bit carried away, heh. Maybeβ we should continue the rest some other time, G'raha? If... you're still interested, of course.
Works for me
