September Catch All

Who: Anya and You
Which: Open Log
Where: Around Town
What: Working at Madame Blackbird’s shop and Dreamotion Training
Warnings: None at the moment

Madame Blackbird’s
(As always, Anya can be found working at the clothing portion of Madame Blackbird’s shop. It has gotten pretty busy with the Fairytale Faire coming ever closer and she is fully booked too. Fabrics, threads, and embellishments on hand, she is proceeding to make them into really costumes any person would be happy to wear for it. But hey that is a life of a seamstress during a Faire season.)

Dreamotion Training
(Outside her tree house, Anya is getting herself ready for some more dreamotion skill training as she gets herself mentally prepared for anything the Story Eater could throw at her. She first starts off by sending ice and fire attacks at the boxes she uses for targets.

After a while, she gets a little bit tired and decides to take a break for a moment before continuing again. Feel free to check what she is doing or wave at her as she rests up.)

Wildcard
(Got another prompt in mind? Feel free to comment down below or contact me on [plurk.com profile] mariscorner or on Discord (Mariposa21 #4257).)

Apropos of nothing at all

After having met

a number of very colorful people, including actual demons from actual Hell, a three-meter talking spider, and people who may or may not be functionally immortal, I'm starting to re-evaluate what I consider believable and what I don't

that in mind

Your parents didn't name you after the infamous Russian princess.

Did they.

I notice that you technically answered the question I wrote down, and carefully avoided answering the question I actually asked.

I'm genuinely curious and it's been bothering me.

Romanova isn't exactly a common last name. But like I said, after being here a while what seems possible has become incredibly distorted.

Apparently alternate timelines are entirely possible, so at this point- why not?

How did you even escape the events of the civil war?

That doesn't seem all that strange. Secret passages in a palace seem perfectly normal.

So I would assume you were separated from the grand duchess in- what, St. Petersburg? What, then, is the weird part?

I'm unfamiliar with that portion of the history.

I'm aware the Romanovs had no shortage of enemies, however. Was there some member of the Russian court that turned traitor?

I am. He's fairly famous, actually, historically speaking, for having survived four assassination attempts including a stabbing, two poisonings, and two shootings.

Most people remember that and a rumored affair with the queen, but I was unaware of any attempted betrayal.

I'm going to hazard a guess that our histories may differ on the subject of Rasputin.

Impressive, but not... terribly strange.

What's the catch?
herewardbound: (hahaha i mean what)

Grigori Rasputin. Apparent demon-summoner and firer of magic lasers, blew up a bridge in Paris, murdered by the missing Russian princess who'd survived the October Revolution, apparently, in a case of (probable) self-defense.

Hhhhuh.

That differs a bit from historical record.

Your world sounds... interesting. We might have to compare notes, sometime, though I'm not certain how much knowledge turn-of-the-twentieth-century Russia would know about Japanese history.

Ugh. 'knowledge would know'? clearly I don't have enough caffeine in me.
