I. Peppered Love

[ It's been a little while since Unnamed encountered the great and mighty Lord of the Goose, but since then he's been making the odd trip to Asura's garden to poke around and say hi while giving Lord Swan A VERY HEALTHY BERTH. On this particular occasion he's been gifted a nice little bundle of devil peppers, which he takes with immense delight.

In his head, it works something like this:

Happy feelings = warmth and devil peppers = HOT AF, which = so much love.

So clearly the best way he can show his affection is by giving the people he cares about some aptly-named Devil Peppers.

If you're someone he's seen before, you can bet ur butt that he's going to call out and wave them down...right before he presents them with one of these bad boys ]

Ouuh, auh! Ih--ih!

II. Flashcard Signing

[ One thing that Unnamed has been working on since his arrival is how to communicate--because that's hard when you're both deaf and undead. He started first with pictures in the journals, then again with sign language. Experience, however, has armed with the knowledge that not everyone understands Sign, so he's decided that his next step has to be reading and writing all those weird scribbles everyone always fills up their books with.

It has not been easy. His dexterity and fine motor skills are lacking at best like ya do when you're not-quite-alive, but help has come to him in the form of The Best Mom Ever and his introduction to.....flashcards. Shigeru has helped him acquire a set marked with both sight words and signs to help him recognize what each word means, and he has been studying them furiously. He's even gone and dreamotion'd a couple of his own into existence with Shigeru's help, so on this fine day Unnamed can be found:

a) pouring over his flashcards as he spreads them out over ground and table alike;

or

b) rushing up to your character with a flashcard with the word 'HELLO' written on it and holding it out with The Most Enthusiasm Ever. ]

Auh!

[ He looks so proud okay, you don't even know ]

[ ooc; just a small reminder that Unnamed here is both undead and deaf but he is doing his best!! and he's got swanky new flashcards to prove it. So if your character is interested in a mini-sign language lesson, this is a good place for it :D ]

[ Friends! For friend's sake, and for learning! Unnamed couldn't be happier. He near-well vibrates with excitement as he nods back and--well, it takes him a moment to figuring out his signing again because he's just so happy his hands are everywhere right now. But he will sign "Happy!" with a big grin.

"Friends, friends, friends~" he repeats, tiny, miscellaneous sounds escaping him. ]

[Oh man, look at how happy he is. It's cute, and Toge's pretty sure the atmosphere around them is growing just a little brighter because of all that excitement. He's really excited to have a friend, huh..?]

[Oh, right. Toge waves his hand to get Unnamed's attention, before pointing to himself. Then, he'll finger-spell out his name.]

["T-O-G-E", then point to himself again. Will Unnamed understand?]

[ ABSOLUTELY HE WILL, look at his his face lights up--he's going to finger-spell T-O-G-E right back to practice the motion. He does it several times before pointing to himself and signing (slowly):

"N-A-N-A-S-H-I" and "N-O-R-I-Y-U-K-I"

he got one name from Sana who is no longer here and one from MAMA YAE MIKO who saw his first name and was like 'pls' ]

[Oh, is that the zombie's name? It would make sense, if he was once a person, that he would have a name. So Toge will nod, and then slowly finger spell out Nanashi's name. Then he will give a thumbs up, before adding one more finger-spelling.]

["T-O-G-E" and "I-N-U-M-A-K-I", and then pointing to himself.]

[ "T-O-G-E!" he repeats, smiling. "Good name. Easy to sign!"

He's met people like Hythlodaeus and Emet-Selch, so any short name...is a good name. Excellent work Toge.

"My name is long." ]

[Toge chuckles at Nanashi's excitement. Sounds like he's real happy. And he is proud of being able to keep up and communicate. It's a good feeling!]

[Although, he does have to pause, blinking at the unfamiliar signs. He got a few words out of it, but... something about his name? He blinks a few times, before tilting his head, before he shakes his head and repeats the sign for "I learn". He's doing his best, but he's still a little shaky!]

[ Ah! TIME TO TEACH A NEW WORD THEN. The prospect is exciting and Unnamed nods quickly to show he understands. He'll take a moment to repeat his earlier sign--"long--and then holds his hands apart and stretch them waaaaaaaaay out. Then repeat the sign again. ]

Auh! Ouh?

[fishflakes]

[Huh... Toge leans in to watch, before blinking a couple times. So, that must mean big... or long... Heh, Nanashi's name is a little long. Toge nods, a grin under his collar, before he mimics what Nanashi had signed before.]

["Your name is long."]

Ouh!

[ Yes! So good C: GOOD BOY, TOGE. You get a nod, and then a headpat. The highest form of zomboi praise.

"My name long," he agrees, grin a mile wide. "Good!" ]

[fishflakes]

[Toge blinks in surprise at the headpat, before chuckling. Ah... that's his form of approval, isn't it? He grins.]

['Good.']
