[open!] you're only everything I ever dreamed
Who: The Kingdom Hearts cast + You!
Which: Open Log!
Where: The collection of treehouses that the cast has made! And other areas!
What: An open log for residents and adjacent CR to come and go. Top levels inside!
Warnings: tba!
[Now that the residents of Songerein are settling in it seems that a group of uncanny key kids (and a few others) have come together to make a nice little collection of connecting treehouses. The houses are dreamed up and put together with a patchwork of wooden bridges and boards and spruced up with fairy lights that glow and hang from the rafters. The treehouses are high in the canopies of thick trees and the balcony sections are open and breezy for any visitors to come to walk up the steps and see.
Down below the treehouses on the ground seems to be a rather flourishing garden of sunflowers. Where they come from or how they sprouted is still unclear. But it is joined with a rather chubby-looking chicken that pecks at the ground occasionally. Along with the grazing chicken, there seems to be a whoosh of dragonfly wings as a large dragonfly has taken to the treehouse as a home too. And what is this? It seems they might have a small collection of blue birds that won't leave the house alone. What other creatures are out and about?
Dreammotion energy seems to be strong around the treehouses. As the trees house a collection of boys with vivid and wild imaginations. Sometimes lights will flicker brighter or plants will bloom with various strange flowers. And the smell of baking chocolate and cookies is always in the air.]

[The little bauble they had all been given had been intriguing to Roxas, and so he had thrown it in the wishing well with a particular thought in mind. And he was delighted to find that, after making his wish, he was granted the skateboard that he had been so fond of in Twilight Town. And naturally, now that he has it, he wants to take it for a test ride.]
[There isn't much in the way of smooth streets or paved roads here in the forest, but Roxas does eventually find a smooth, wooden platform outside the treehouses where he can ride smoothly. He can be found out here practicing with it, getting used to the object once more and even practicing a few kickflips. What can he say, he's a city-kid at heart.]
B - At Dusk, I Will Think Of You
[There's a little tradition Roxas has taken part in, one that's stuck with him no matter what world he's ended up in. Ever since Axel had brought him up to the top of the Twilight Town clock tower, Roxas has made it a habit to find a high place to sit and watch the sunset. He kept that habit up in Aefenglom, and he intends to keep it up here, too.]
[Whether you just happen to look up around dusk, or happen to hear the scrambling of footfalls on the nearby balcony or roof, one only needs to look up to find Roxas climbing his way up the rooftop of the highest treehouse. Once he gets there, he'll settle in on the pointed roof, relaxing as he watches the sunset. The view isn't the same as Twilight Town, but it's not too bad.]
[People are welcome to join him up here, or ask him what the heck he's doing on the roof.]
Wildcard
[If you’d like a custom starter or would like to plan something different out, feel free to PM me here or hit me up on plurk at
b
but... he could probably fly now, if he wanted. nevertheless, he's making his way up to the roof as well. )
Oh. Sorry, didn't mean to bother you... wait.
( his eyes aren't deceiving him. )
I know you, don't I?
( the same way that he knows sora and vanitas, no doubt. )
Re: b
Oh, it's alright... huh?
[Roxas blinks, tilting his head a bit. There is definitely a significant resemblance to Sora, and by extension Vanitas, even if the hair and expressions might not be the same.]
You do..?
[His memory is a little patchy in places, and there are those here who claim to remember him from worlds he doesn't remember. But this person... there's a familiarity there, even if it's taking him a moment to recognize it.]
no subject
( a happy, smiling dog. as he takes a few steps forward, lio keeps his hands in front of him, one on top of the other. he might not look particularly intimidating in general, but he's learned to assuage those fears before they even come up.
all that black, even with the white frills... )
You're friends with Sora and Vanitas. Right?
( well. maybe not 'friends'. but... )
no subject
[Roxas perks up at that. If this guy's mentioning Sora and Vanitas, and his time as a dog, then that means...]
Does that mean you came from Aefenglom too?
no subject
( that brings a sigh of relief to lio, who now doesn't feel as awkward as he takes a seat next to roxas. he could be told a thousand times that aefenglom was real and still a nagging part of his brain would introduce the doubt that could never be stopped. )
How much do you remember?
( because he knows someone who doesn't have a full recollection, which frankly? lio wishes he was in the same boat. )
no subject
[Roxas leans back a bit, resting on his arms as he does.]
I remember being with my friends there... transforming into a dog... [He laughs a little ruefully.] I remember once getting a nose-full of dog-nip and feeling really funny because of it.
[His face does fall a little.]
...getting caught by that cult, too.
[That still affects him. He's not in that world anymore, but he still remembers being trapped in a cage and getting infected with the Cwyld. It still gives him nightmares, on occasion.]
[He shakes his head, before looking at Lio.]
What do you remember?
no subject
but... )
That cult. ( he can't hide the venom in his voice. the rising anger. ) Yeah. Same. I'm...
( with a shudder, lio has to push those thoughts out of his head. )
... I remember that too. Thankfully none of that followed us here. Right?
no subject
[It made everything feel all warm and giddy... it was odd.]
[Roxas nods slowly.]
Yeah... it's all back in that other world. And we're here, so we're safe from that cult now.
[He says it steadily, with conviction in his voice. Still, his hand reaches up and scratches at a spot on his arm; an unconscious gesture in response to the phantom tingling itch in his skin. He looks at Lio for a moment.]
...it still kinda gets to me, though. I know I'm free, and I know I'm safe, but... it still hits me from time to time, you know? That's kinda silly, huh?
no subject
( there is something in roxas' voice that comforts lio; it weighs him down in a way that keeps the panic from truly reaching his heart. he has no doubt that this other boy had as many, if not more, dangerous moments in his life... in a way, he radiates this kind of energy that reminds him of someone who has weathered a metaphorical storm or two already.
not that he wishes anything like aefenglom on anyone. )
I would be more worried if you could just shrug that all off.
( lio pauses as he pulls his knees to his chest, closing his eyes. )
But you remember. We remember. There were good things despite all of that, and I think that's why I don't want to forget. I've... there's someone here that I know who doesn't remember a thing. He doesn't remember our bond.
no subject
[Roxas listens to Lio explain his own troubles, and his eyes go a little wide.]
Your bondmate is here too..?
[There was someone Roxas spoke to, one named Garnet who had said he couldn't remember Aefenglom clearly. Was that Lio's bondmate? He frowns sadly, looking at Lio with sympathy.]
...I'm sorry. That must be really hard for the two of you.
[He frowns, looking away. He doesn't quite mirror Lio's position, but he does bring a knee up to rest his arm on.]
I've traveled to different worlds before coming here, but each time I did, I remember that world. But... I've learned that sometimes, some worlds are different. There are others here who said they knew me from worlds I don't remember visiting, and describing things I have no memory of. It's... weird, hearing about things you don't remember.
[The fairy tale world Kazuma and 76 had described, that strange world that left Naminé ominously quiet... they had told Roxas about their experiences, and Roxas couldn't remember them the same way he could remember Aefenglom. It reminded him of the holes that had been in his memory when he was in that fake Twilight Town, and it hurt his heart to realize his memory wasn't all there.]
no subject
( he hesitates to bring either of them up by name, especially vanitas. though he knows van has changed for the better, that darkness is still concerning. especially to someone from his world; he knows his origins. he knows probably too much and yet it's still confusing to him. all he can do is judge anyone from what they've done in front or with him.
so... )
So it's not all bad. ( still concerning. ) But different worlds than just Aefenglom and here, that sounds tiring.
( even if he doesn't remember it. either way, roxas sounds like a well-traveled veteran compared to the burnish leader, who still wishes he could be home trying to figure out the state of his home. of the city, of the rest of his people. instead? he gets this--- another 'vacation'. )
In the end, you're still you. That's all that matters.
no subject
[Roxas is assuming both of Lio's bondmates don't remember. That would actually be really hard to remember... if Sora and Kor had forgotten his bond, that would be difficult for him too, even if he's got other connections to Sora.]
[But that, it seems, is the common factor here. Not everyone's memories line up here. It's strange.]
Yeah... I don't know why our memories don't line up in this world, but...
[He shakes his head and rests a hand over his chest.]
You're right. I am still me. And your bondmates are still them. And maybe their minds might not remember, but... it's hard to fully eliminate memories. Sometimes, your heart remembers things your mind forgets.
[Like how he had clung to the image of Xion even when he had all but forgotten her. He's hoping the same can be said about his unaligned memories with the others who clearly remember him.]
Maybe it's the same with your bondmates. Maybe they might not remember your time in Aefenglom together. But that doesn't mean that connection is completely gone... or can't be reborn somehow.
no subject
... I hope... no, I wish that was the case.
( he draws the back of his hand against his eyelids, rubs against them to streak away some of the budding tears. lio sighs in the form of a half-shudder and half-sniffle, before trying to regain his composure. )
I don't want him to remember everything. I think... he deserves to be happier not remembering what happened near the end. That cult wrecked my bonds. I want those bastards to be forgotten.
( even though that's practically impossible. but... )
What made me trust him in the first place hasn't left him. So in time... mm.
( a shrug, as he keeps his eyes closed. )
... still, it hurts.
no subject
...yeah. It hurts, not remembering. And that cult... yeah. I wish I could forget them, too.
[Emotions were still a complex and uncertain thing for Roxas. Even with a full year of having his own heart and feeling his own emotions, it's still hard to understand them. But seeing the raw emotions on Lio's face, even as he tries to hide them... he doesn't need to be part dog to want to help comfort the other beside him.]
But... you're still friends with them, right? Nothing can change that. And that connection... it's stronger than you might think. So maybe he won't remember the details, but I don't think those feelings of friendship can't come back.
[Bondmates were close friends, after all, right? At least, they had been for Roxas. He's not sure how it goes with Lio. But he can see that Lio's struggling with this; the burden of remembering, the confusion of forgetting. It's something he can actually recognize.]
But... if you need someone else to help with the hard parts... I mean. I was taken by that cult, so I know how hard it was. How scary it was. It messed up my bonds, too.
[It's an olive branch of an offer, of sorts. Maybe, if he can offer being a confidant for Lio about the hard memories, maybe that'll make rekindling the good emotions between Lio and his bondmates easier?]
no subject
Yeah. We're still friends... I have that at least.
( both momo and vanitas were still the same. it allowed lio to stay optimistic, knowing that he had them here. and with every familiar face he's encountered, it has done wonders to keep him grounded. )
I would never refuse your help. ( he reaches across with his body so that he can place his hand on roxas' hand and gives it a squeeze. )
Those hard parts... maybe if we have more good memories, we can wipe away those ones.
( this one included. something about roxas even without the cute ears and doggy tail is a little more comforting, to say the very least. he just can't put a finger on why. )
no subject
Yeah. We can't make the bad memories go away, but we can replace them with better memories. I think that's the best you can do. And I'm sure your bondmates will appreciate creating good memories with them.
[That's what had helped him recover, at least. Having Sora and Kor there to comfort him, or to just goof off and have some fun... it had helped tremendously. Maybe the same thing will help Lio too.]
So, if things get too much, you can come talk to me about it. Or Sora and Vanitas; you mentioned knowing them, right? I know that they remember that other world. And if you know him, my other bondmate Kor is here too.
[Roxas doesn't know Lio well enough to know who his bondmates are, but he figures he should let Lio know who else remembers Aefenglom.]
We can all offer you help if you need it, so that you can focus on the good times. Just because your bondmates don't remember doesn't mean you're alone here.
no subject
I will. I plan on being around here often. When a number of my friends are here, it'd be hard not to want to see them often.
( especially when one of them means a little more than the others. a connection that will never truly be broken, even after the cultists did their best to try to break them. even now, he can remember the pain of that particular link being tested. )
So... I guess I should apologize in advance if you see too much of me.
A
He wonders outside the houses and steps onto some of the smooth wooden platform as he looks around---not really noticing he's probably stepped right into Roxas' path]
no subject
Woah, look out!
[He skids out of the way, wobbling as he does, but he might not be able to avoid the newcomer unless he dives away!]
no subject
It has the two boys still colliding but not as hard as they would have if Roxas didn't start skidding. Ephemer lands on his butt, wincing a bit. He blinks and flails to Roxas]
H-hey! Are you okay?! Sorry!
no subject
It's alright.. I'm fine. Are you okay?
no subject
[He blinks, doing a double take of Roxas once he's on his feet and going over to check on him quickly.]
Ven?
[He reaches a hand out to help him up.]
Where did you learn to ride one of those?
no subject
[Roxas is about to brush it off as the accident it is, before the guy speaks up again. He blinks in surprise, before a few emotions cast a strange shadow over his face. It's never sat well, being called another name, spoken to like he's another. He's gotten better about it, learned to let it go easier, but... with Ven, it's still a little complicated.]
[The emotion passes quickly, and Roxas just shakes his head.]
Sorry, but no. I'm not Ven. We look alike, though.
[But he will take the offered hand and help to stand.]
