[Now that the residents of Songerein are settling in it seems that a group of uncanny key kids (and a few others) have come together to make a nice little collection of connecting treehouses. The houses are dreamed up and put together with a patchwork of wooden bridges and boards and spruced up with fairy lights that glow and hang from the rafters. The treehouses are high in the canopies of thick trees and the balcony sections are open and breezy for any visitors to come to walk up the steps and see.

Down below the treehouses on the ground seems to be a rather flourishing garden of sunflowers. Where they come from or how they sprouted is still unclear. But it is joined with a rather chubby-looking chicken that pecks at the ground occasionally. Along with the grazing chicken, there seems to be a whoosh of dragonfly wings as a large dragonfly has taken to the treehouse as a home too. And what is this? It seems they might have a small collection of blue birds that won't leave the house alone. What other creatures are out and about?

Dreammotion energy seems to be strong around the treehouses. As the trees house a collection of boys with vivid and wild imaginations. Sometimes lights will flicker brighter or plants will bloom with various strange flowers. And the smell of baking chocolate and cookies is always in the air.]

[He brightens like a lightbulb. The little plants they have growing on the windowsill even start to glow.]

Yeah!! Thanks! Whatever we can do will be great for everyone!

[He really is in it to help people get some of these fresh veggies and things too. It'll be a lot of fun to make a part of the community here.]

I bet we'll have everyone on board with that. It's a great idea, Tifa. I can't wait!

[Meanwhile he takes the bacon off the burner and prepares his pot of chocolate! Yeah, he's still doing that.]

[Tifa hasn't forgotten the sweet smell of the chocolate, and as she leans back against the counter and out of his way with a wide smile in response to his excitement, she watches him. Although... as someone who has never had chocolate covered bacon before, she's a bit curious about what it is he's trying to accomplish here.

Tilting her head, and looking at the bacon, and then to the pot, she arches a brow.]

So, what's the chocolate for?

[oathkeeper]

[He grins as he sets up a little drying rack as well.]

Well, it's been a long time since me and my friends have been able to eat things like meat and candy. Since we were stuck as monsters in our last world we had to go a long time without eating anything like bacon or chocolate...

[... Does she know where this is going??]

So, to celebrate getting changed back we decided to put two and two together! Ever have chocolate-dipped bacon before, Tifa?

[This could be a disaster or completely genius.]

[starshower]

[Or both at the same time.

She's not sure whether to be intrigued or mildly put off by the idea, and she's pretty sure she's feeling a little bit of both at the moment while she watches the chocolate bubble on the stove, but she was also never one to judge a book by its cover, so to speak. Or in this case, food by its cover.]

I haven't, but... You should never knock something 'til you try it, yeah? Salty and sweet? Might not be so bad...!

[oathkeeper]

Yeah, that's the right attitude!

[This is why he likes Tifa so much. Back in Hollow Bastion, she was always open-minded and ready for anything too. Even kicking Cloud's butt if she had to. He wonders if that's still the same?

The chocolate seems about done so Sora takes it off the heat. Once the bacon is dry and stiff they will be ready to dip.]

Once we got these dried pieces covered in chocolate we let them cool and then they're ready to be snacked on! Easy, right?

[starshower]

[Honestly? She's pretty excited to give this a try. Someone like Barret or Biggs might have hemmed and hawed about mixing chocolate and bacon—two things that should never be mixed together, they would say—but she's in good company this time around. And hell, maybe she can adopt this recipe for her own place if she ever manages to get it set up.]

As easy as eating them's gonna be.

[While they wait, she figures now might be a good time to ask.]

So, when you say you were stuck as monsters in your last world, what exactly did you mean by that?

[Both the monsters and the "last world" part.]

[oathkeeper]

[The bacon will need a few moments to cool off and harden before it's ready to be coated in tasty sweet chocolate so Sora is more than happy to talk for a while. He folds his arms behinds his head for a moment as he thinks back on the last world he was in.]

It's kind of a long story. But basically, before I found myself here I was stuck in a whole other world. I'm pretty used to that sort of thing. I've been to a bunch of other worlds before since I can travel from one to another. But there's only ever been two places where I've been stuck. This world and the last one I was in.

[He moves to rub his nose.]

In that world, it was like some sort of magic slowly started changing all of us into monsters or witches. Slowly but surely everyone who was stuck like me turned into one or the other. In that world? I was half a rabbit.

[starshower]

[Okay, hold up.

She has a lot of questions, but first—]

And this transformation only let you eat what rabbits eat? How's that even healthy?

[He's a growing boy! There's no way he was stuck just eating carrots and lettuce... Which, fine. Is healthy and Tifa supports making healthy decisions, but where's the fun in that?]

[oathkeeper]

[He knows it's a lot of information. Phew!]

Uh-huh! Basically! I was on a pure veggie and fruit diet for over a year! Even some baked goods used to make me sick. It was the worst.

[Well seeing as Sora never liked his vegetables before being a rabbit... Maybe he's better for it now? He likes them now!]

[starshower]

[Well, at least turning him into a rabbit got him to eat his fruits and veggies... so that's a plus! She'll be sure to leave him plenty of tomatoes and carrots from the garden to make sure that he continues to do so!

Tifa nods, understanding.]

I get it. That's what you're trying to make up for. Still, that couldn't have been a very interesting diet. Especially when you're in a whole other place.

[Think of all the different foods he might have missed out on! Actually no, don't.

She pauses, and peeks into the pot of chocolate.]

So, what kind of world was it? Anything like this one? Minus turning into rabbits.

[oathkeeper]

Uh-huh. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to try something like pixie beef stew or spicy chimera tacos.

[Don't worry- it wasn't real chimera or pixie meat. It was just called that. The truth of the fact is Sora has a lot of catching up to do! He wants to eat some much bacon?!]

But you know this world reminds me of it a little bit. At least the magic or the way things look. Aefenglom was a really magical world with a lot of tall towers and big forests and lakes. It was pretty colorful too with a lot of steam and coal powered stuff. And magic was in almost everything.

[starshower]

[Well, he certainly makes it sound like it was real chimera or pixie meat... and Tifa's nose scrunches at the thought. Neither of them seems that appetizing, but maybe they do to someone who's stuck involuntarily eating nothing but fruits and vegetables for that long.]

Sounds just like the place I was in before I came here. Did you like it there?

[Tifa takes a second to poke at a strip of bacon—carefully!—they should be about ready to dip into the chocolate!]

[oathkeeper]

[No one should ever eat monster-meat meals. It doesn't sound or look very appetizing and would probably be strange to eat. But they make for catchy meal names.

Sora nods and urges her to go right ahead. Time to dip the cooled bacon into the chocolate! Sora helps her with his own piece in hand too.]

Yeah. Since I was there for over a year it felt like a second home after a while. I made a lot of friends. A lot that I had to leave behind now, I guess. I hope everyone's doing okay.

[starshower]

[She understands that feeling well, and nods slowly as she holds the strip of bacon between her fingers—carefully, so as not to burn herself!]

I bet they're fine. Maybe they've even moved on to different worlds too. I did... Makes you wonder though, if we'd ever go back to them after all this, you know?

[And into the chocolate the bacon goes, where it bubbles as the oil mixes, and already, it's starting to smell heavenly... much to her surprise.]

[oathkeeper]

[Sora's expression softens. It's good to know that they're okay- and that they can think about the people they've had to leave behind.]

I hope that everyone's okay in those other worlds... I miss them a lot. But I know that even if we're all apart we still have all those memories to keep.

[And then he shoves his own piece into the chocolate and lets it drip. When it's dry enough he holds it up like a cup in cheers.]

How about...! Here's to new friends and new memories too?

To new friends and—!

[The chocolate is remarkably fast to harden, but even Tifa is having some troubles with it when she lifts it up in a toast as well, the chocolate dripping down her fingers and to her arm that she has to stop herself to catch it before she can even take a bite.

Does he have napkins!?]

Memories...!

[Still, she goes for it anyway, scooping what she can into her mouth and getting chocolate all over her lips. Perhaps she should have waited a little longer, but it was all worth it in the end, because her face lights up when she gets a taste.]

Way better than I thought!

[Sora will snort and laugh and quickly grab at the clean dish towel he has to offer it to her! Will that work?!]

Careful, you're gonna drip!

[He snickers some more before it's time to chow down and... Sora is so happy when he finally gets a taste of that sweet and salty goodness. The promise of new friends and memories makes this warm sparkle of lights appear around them again and Sora is smiling as he chews.]

I'm glad you like it, Tifa!

[It's just so good to be able to start this adventure off right. Having a chance to make new friends and make good in this world too? Sora's looking forward to all of it...]
