[Now that the residents of Songerein are settling in it seems that a group of uncanny key kids (and a few others) have come together to make a nice little collection of connecting treehouses. The houses are dreamed up and put together with a patchwork of wooden bridges and boards and spruced up with fairy lights that glow and hang from the rafters. The treehouses are high in the canopies of thick trees and the balcony sections are open and breezy for any visitors to come to walk up the steps and see.

Down below the treehouses on the ground seems to be a rather flourishing garden of sunflowers. Where they come from or how they sprouted is still unclear. But it is joined with a rather chubby-looking chicken that pecks at the ground occasionally. Along with the grazing chicken, there seems to be a whoosh of dragonfly wings as a large dragonfly has taken to the treehouse as a home too. And what is this? It seems they might have a small collection of blue birds that won't leave the house alone. What other creatures are out and about?

Dreammotion energy seems to be strong around the treehouses. As the trees house a collection of boys with vivid and wild imaginations. Sometimes lights will flicker brighter or plants will bloom with various strange flowers. And the smell of baking chocolate and cookies is always in the air.]

Indeed. It was a home for all wielders, regardless of Union.

[Though, it was typical for Unions to keep to themselves, more or less. Minus a few exceptions.]

And yes, combatting heartless and protecting the worlds.

[At the next question though, Ira's expression darkens. He's still reluctant to admit his part in everything that happened.]

Things, unfortunately, fell apart.

Fell apart?

[His frown is still on his face, but he perks up at that.]

What happened?

[iracorn]

[Ira's face falls, and he's silent for a moment, trying to find the words.]

I guess you could say that we all got too ambitious, too competitive. Conflict like that only escalates.

[twilightskey]

[Roxas's frown turns to one of sympathy. That sounded... really not great. Conflict escalating could only mean one thing.]

But... what were you competing over?

[iracorn]

Lux. The competition was friendly at first, but then, each union began gathering more and more.

[He looks to the floor, it's difficult, bringing this all up.]

We thought it could bring our master back.

[twilightskey]

Lux... you've mentioned that before.

[Roxas is still a little unclear on just what Lux was, but it seemed important enough. Though, he blinks in surprise at Ira.]

Your Master?

[iracorn]

Yes. The man who trained me, and my friends. He disappeared, some time ago.

[And really when all their troubles began. It stings more than Ira cares to admit.]

[twilightskey]

Oh...

[Roxas has never had a Master, so he doesn't really know the feeling. The only mentor he's really had was Axel, so... maybe if he had gone missing, he would understand how difficult that might be.]

[But Roxas does frown.]

So... wait. You were all wanting your Master to come back... but you were competing to do so?

[iracorn]

[Ira sighs, standing and facing away from Roxas to collect his thoughts. It is, not the best retelling of what happened but at the same time, he is reluctant to fully admit everything to someone he's only met a few times.]

It wasn't a collective effort. We weren't working together, but each of us thought that we could do it on our own. If we had enough Lux, which meant gathering it more quickly than the others.

[twilightskey]

[Roxas gives Ira a bit of a pointed look, the frown remaining on his face. After a moment, he crosses his arms on the table, leaning forward a bit.]

Why not, though? That sounds... really stupid. I mean, you're working towards the same goal. Why not work together?

[iracorn]

[Ira is not proud of himself.]

We were fighting and by that point, a lot of trust had dissolved.

[It's unspoken, but it's clear that he lays the blame on himself.]

[twilightskey]

[Roxas blinks, then lets out a small, humourless chuckle, his face twisting into a wry grin.]

I think I can understand that.

[After all, the same had happened to him and his friends at one point.]

So I guess that's when all this Union stuff went away?

[iracorn]

[One day, the whole story may come out.]

Pretty much. Kind of hard to maintain that system when everyone is fighting. A lot of lines get blurred.

[twilightskey]

Yeah... that sounds like a big mess, if you ask me.

[He props up an elbow and rests his chin on his palm.]

Well... I am sorry, for what happened. I don't really get why things happened, but... I don't think that's an easy thing to handle either way.

[iracorn]

[Ira lets out a huff of laughter.]

You are not wrong there. And unfortunately, no way to clean it up.

But thank you. The sentiment is appreciated, at least.

[Maybe one day, the whole story will come out. When Ira's ready to tell it.]
