[Now that the residents of Songerein are settling in it seems that a group of uncanny key kids (and a few others) have come together to make a nice little collection of connecting treehouses. The houses are dreamed up and put together with a patchwork of wooden bridges and boards and spruced up with fairy lights that glow and hang from the rafters. The treehouses are high in the canopies of thick trees and the balcony sections are open and breezy for any visitors to come to walk up the steps and see.

Down below the treehouses on the ground seems to be a rather flourishing garden of sunflowers. Where they come from or how they sprouted is still unclear. But it is joined with a rather chubby-looking chicken that pecks at the ground occasionally. Along with the grazing chicken, there seems to be a whoosh of dragonfly wings as a large dragonfly has taken to the treehouse as a home too. And what is this? It seems they might have a small collection of blue birds that won't leave the house alone. What other creatures are out and about?

Dreammotion energy seems to be strong around the treehouses. As the trees house a collection of boys with vivid and wild imaginations. Sometimes lights will flicker brighter or plants will bloom with various strange flowers. And the smell of baking chocolate and cookies is always in the air.]

[ It would be better if Sora could feel what Vanitas is going through as well. As it stands, Vanitas can actually feel Sora's emotions. Only the negative ones now. Only the negative ones from this point out, just like he can with everyone that he encounters.

He doesn't want to be distant. Not really. Not from Sora. Not from one of the people who really hasn't let him down. ]

If it's you, then it probably will be. Because it's you, then it has a higher chance of working out.

[ Van gives Sora's hands a squeeze in return. See how much faith he actually has in Sora? ]

[Sora's heart feels like it's both full and achy. He holds tight to Vanitas.]

Just hold onto that, okay?

[Because he's going to hold on. They're worth it. He's worth it.]

Hey, Vanitas... You know I love you.

[darkcharge]

[ Vanitas, honestly, doesn't like it when he is the cause for Sora's distress. Back in the past, he would have. Relished it even. Yet... ]

I know. Don't think I'm not trying, Sora. It's not exactly easy.

[ He shifts a bit. From side to side. From one foot to the other. ]

Being connected made this easier. You'd just know I felt the same.

[He knows Vanitas is trying! But it's just so hard to keep going back and forth on it. It's why Sora couldn't keep it to himself anymore especially now that they can't feel each other's emotions clearly.

Speaking of those emotions, the world seems to react quite easily to those things here. And that is why Sora blinks as he swears he feels something tickle the back of his neck. He touches there and feels the flakes of soft bits of light flicker around him like playful fireflies. A reaction to Sora's emotions?

He looks back to Vanitas with a fuss still in his tone.]

I don't like not being able to feel anything anymore...!

[darkcharge]

[ Vanitas has to pause for a moment. Because he's pretty sure Sora is whining. He's whining about -

He starts bursting at the seams with laughter. Just real, true laughter. Not bittersweet or anything either. Just. He finds that funny! ]

Yeah? It's not like I like it either!

[ Relieved laughing because Sora's just giving him that stupid puffy pout because he can't be connected to Vanitas as he once was. One of the things that Vanitas had always been on edge about...

And really there had been no need to be. At all. ]

[oathkeeper]

[Whoa, is he getting laughed at!? As much as that makes Sora's face burn he does like making Vanitas laugh. Even at his own expense! It's a relief from the previous tension.]

Hey! Hey, come on!!

[He snorts and tilts his head before reaching out to poke Vanitas right in the chest.]

What did we say before? If we can't have a bond we're gonna have to talk more. That means you could always say it back to me, you know?

[REVERSE UNO CARD]

[ No, Sora just doesn't understand. It's good to hear, it really is... That they can both just feel the same level of frustration over something. That they both feel like something really has been taken away from them. A little void left by one another. Vanitas has never had that, really. Ventus never thought he wasn't complete without Vanitas.

Yet Sora does, on some level. It's just... He needs that.

And gives Sora a shove in return. Huffing and soon turning back to something of a fluster. ]

I could, yes. Not when you put me on the spot.

[ Let it be natural! ]

[oathkeeper]

What's that supposed to mean!

[He snorts but there is a small snicker on his lips as he's shoved in return. Back to tugging on Vanitas' hand and keeping him close even if he knows he's being annoying about it.

It's all fair- he thinks- that Sora's heart has this big spot where Vanitas just has to fit now. There is still so much that he wants to say and so much that he wants Vanitas to come to see from his side but he knows that the frustration that runs between them here is only out of that love. It's love.]

I'll just have to wait around forever for that, then.

[darkcharge]

It means what it means.

[ Can Vanitas squirm a little to get away? He feels like he needs to get away. Sora keeps looking at him like that and it is making his heart race. He can feel his pulse in his ears and his chest tightens up - but not in the same painful way that makes him spew out Unversed. Too much. Too full. And his face on fire. ]

It's just not easy! Not everyone is stupid like you and says what they want and just -

[ And just not care how it makes him sound. But gah... His face is so red. ]

Argh!

[oathkeeper]

[Sora looks positively delighted to see Vanitas' reaction like this. He snorts and lets out a happy laugh and nudges the boy.]

I get it- You're still a little emotionally constipated.

[He's kidding!! He'll relent and stop being such a pest about this. At least for now.]

Vanitas, thanks anyway. It still means a lot to me.

[darkcharge]

[ Yes he is. He knows that he has issues expressing his emotions and having the Unversed back just makes it harder.

Vanitas gives a huff. Shoves Sora a little bit and stomps back inside the house. Still as red as a beat from his face all the way down his neck.

Breezy just hovers there. Meowing at Sora. Will someone please get her food? ]

[oathkeeper]

[Goodbye Vanitas! Sora will follow in after but only before scooping the flying kitten into his arms.]

I guess that means it's lunchtime, huh? Let's find something to eat!
