SAVE SLOT 01 - February Catch-All Log
Who: Flowey and YOU!
Which: Open Log
Where: Various locations
What: Flowey in a variety of situations
Warnings: Will update as they come up
1 - Putting the Dreamotion into Motion
It had been a little more than a month since Flowey arrived and a little more than a month since he's learned about the existence of Dreamotion. His talk with Ira didn't really push him in the right direction, or any direction at all, really. Emotions are tied to Dreamotion, he was told. Unfortunately, he lacks more than just the phone and flashlight that were on him before he arrived to this dreamworld.
So a certain flower definitely will make his face present at the music studio on Sunday, popping out of the ground and calling out to the nearest person.
"Excuse me? Is this the place to learn more about Dreamotion?" Flowey asks with an inquisitive yet somewhat pleading tone.
2 - Gnome Ohm Homes
It may be your house, it may be your office or your restaurant, it may even be your library or private museum, but they're there. Who are "they"? Why, gnomes, of course! And a Flower. If it's early on during the month, Flowey will be a little stunned upon seeing someone occupying the house, remarking that they thought it was empty at the time. If it's near the end of the month, the flower just basically ignores you and goes straight to work as he's learned the gnomes are extremely stubborn. And determined.
Determination is a trait he likes very, very much, and he's determined to help with all the basic electricity infrastructure installation.
Unfortunately, the owner of the building or their friends or coworkers may have some very different opinions.
((OOC: You may forward or backdate within February as Flowey will become uncaring towards the owners as the month progresses))
3 - Setting Up Shop
Shops come in all forms. From groceries to art supplies to restaurants to clothes stores, you can find a huge plethora of things to fit your needs. However, one shop seems to be new. "Puzzled", it says. Upon entering, a flower with a face seems to be manning the register... where worker-side there's a platform with a solid slope connected to the ground. The flower greets you and says he hopes you find a good puzzle to your liking.
Upon browsing Flowey's wares, there appears to be four main sections:

and yet, he still just keeps doing his own thing. it's not bad, he supposes, even if it does make him twitchy.
but then he sees the flower and stops. rubs his eyes. stops.]
You're a flower.
[no way]

[Ever been sassed at by a flower before?]

Point taken. But how are you running a shop?

but he should be used to weird by now.]
Puzzles? Don't tell me you've got crosswords here...I suck at those.

Most of the shops they pass, he's like whatever, and keeps going, but he raises an eyebrow when he spots the shop "Puzzled". He calls for Festus, who quickly flies back to him and proceeds to perch around his shoulders (and looks way too big to be there but Leo doesn't seem to be struggling to hold him up too badly) and takes a peak inside.
And he's enamored. Puzzles are everywhere, but not boring jigsaws, puzzle boxes. Gears and levers and hidden moving pieces galore! He thought he was in heaven until he realized it was all wood.
Bleh. He had no power over wood.]
Yo, you got any metal boxes-- [He turns to the shopkeeper to ask, but then freezes at the sight of a literal flower. A flower with a face.
Hang on, he's gotta process this for a sec.]
no subject
Unfortunately, none yet. A shame, really, as I would love for metals to be easily forged. Like tiny screws. I mean, sure I can make things bigger, but a 40 pound puzzle box would quickly be tiring. No plastics or silicons, either. All I got to work with is wood and glass so far.
So! Need any reccommendations?
no subject
Uh--- [He shakes his head, picking up a rubik's cube and twisting it absently.]
Actually, I might can get you some metal? I've been setting up a forge over by the river. Metal is easy for me. In exchange, can you make some of these puzzle boxes out of it?
no subject
A forge, you say...?
[The Rubick's Cube turns surprisingly easy and seems surprisingly sturdy despite being made out of wood.]
Golly, looks like I found a nice business partner! Though I won't replicate THESE puzzle boxes with metal. I actually have other ideas for metal ones.
[Flowey disappears into the ground, only to reappear seconds later with a quill and paper. He spends a few moments drawing a rough sketch of a new puzzle box using his vines.]
Something like this, perhaps?
no subject
But when Flowey brings out the rough sketch of a new puzzle box, he freezes, eyes wide.]
It's beautiful.

2, early to mid-month? you choose!
Yeah, he's just going to stare at the gnomes for a moment, eyes slowly growing wider, at a complete loss for words. And then, finally:]
Yo, what the hell, man!?
[It doesn't seem like he's noticed Flowey just yet, simply making him for a regular flower that the gnomes dragged in with them.]
Early month it is!
...
[Only for a moment, though.]
I thought you were out at the moment.
sorry for the delay!
Wait, hold up! Why's the plant talkin', yo?
[Please someone answer him. What is going on here?]
no subject
But for real, I thought you were informed that work was gonna happen in your house.
no subject
I didn't get no info that this was happenin'. Can't ya barge in here later or somethin'?
[Either would be preferable, so he could at least get decent.]
And close the door, will ya? Or else I might freeze my balls off.

2, early month!
It's definitely a work in progress, but for now, it's quiet...
Quiet enough that, while Tifa isn't there yet (she will be soon), the current residents have caught on to the rustling in the walls.
And Flowey will be greeted by the sound of chimes and a meow, and a small, yellow fairy in a plum flower dress pokes her head in through the crack in the wall, and as soon as she sees the flower, she flits up... not realizing that it isn't just any ordinary flower...
"Strange. I don't remember putting one here. What a stupid place for a flower."
As she pulls on one of Flowey's petals.
And behind her, the green eyes of a fairy cat peers in to see.]
no subject
I suggest you let go of my petal, buddy.
no subject
"Wha—! IT TALKS!?" She's less concerned about the vine that's wrapped around her wrist and doesn't even bother trying to shake it off. Instead, her panic quickly grows to curiosity as she flits a little closer to Flowey, darting around him to examine. "What in the world!? You are not one of my flowers or Tifa's, so what are you doing here!?"
Meanwhile, the sound of a door opening and closing can be heard from the front, followed by a tired sigh and a loud meow as the kitten greets Tifa.]
no subject
What do you mean what am I doing here? Weren't you informed that work was going to be done on your house?
[It's then that Flowey heard the door open. The gnomes paid absolutely no attention and kept on working whilst Flowey paused and let go of the wrist.]
...Tell me you were informed of this.
no subject
She darts away, and grabs Tifa's attention, and Flowey will hear the two of them exchange a conversation near the bar's counter, the kitten speaking up with a meow every now and then, before a pair of boots come wandering over...
And Tifa appears around the corner with the kitten on her shoulder.]
Oh. I thought I heard some noise in here. She arches a brow the moment her eyes land on Flowey. A... flower?
["Not one of mine~!"]

So. As advertised.
He peeled himself out of the shadows after some more observation the next day to approach the shop and shoved open the door a tad on the rough side. He strode in with curls of black smoke rising from his arms and shoulders as he looked around. A game store, sure. And that sure was a flower with a face, which no longer seemed strange thanks to Deerington and now this dream hell.
He set his hands on his hips and looked around, examining a few of the wares from a distance.
"You have chess sets?" He and 76 had once enjoyed long games years back.
no subject
The flower summoned a vine, which spurted out of the ground and makes a gesture akin to putting a hand to his chin.
"Hmm... Little old me was going to specialize this shop to serve puzzles and the like, but..." The flower looks around to make sure no one's hearing him.
"Chess can sort of be akin to a puzzle, in some peoples' opinions... Tell you what, buddy. I only have a couple chess sets stashed away somewhere. Little old me can go and get you one. How's that sound?"
no subject
He approached the counter where the flower was manning the till and made a soft growling noise in his throat. "Puzzles are too easy and aren't replayable easily." He had a few questions of his own, but he bit them back for now. "How much would one cost?"
no subject
"Golly... I think I needed that. But seriously. Puzzles are actually a very important part of monster culture. You couldn't step six feet without being caught in a puzzle!"
Flowey will get a piece of paper out and start constructing a Sudoku.
"Tell you what. I'll make you a puzzle. If you think it's so easy, then you can solve it and I'll give you the chess set for free! If not, let's say... I won't make too cost your you."
With that, Flowey shows off a puzzle.
"Just in case you don't know, thermometers have their numbers increase in value starting from the big dot."
You move, skelleboy.
no subject
He folded his arms over his chest and watched as a puzzle was drawn out on a piece of paper. Was this how they were going to barter away services, huh? He didn't like owing favours or services, but well... for 76, he'd actually consider it. It was more law abiding than theft anyway.
"Thermo-rules, hmm?" He stared at the puzzle, considering the numbers provided and the clue. "So what is it about monster culture that leans so heavily on puzzles?"
