Nice to meet you. My name's Nier. Just thought I should mention there's someone else here with the same name. He's much older than I am and that might be a little confusing. We're different people so I need to make that clear.
Anyway, there's a question that's been on my mind for some time now.
Do you think it's ever okay to tell a lie? I'd like to hear some thoughts because I sometimes wonder if the nightmares here are lies and illusions. They seem so real but sometimes they just aren't.
Back in my world there's something called the Deathdream and I don't know if anyone else has heard of that term before either.
Action Open
[Outside Nier can be found with a tool in hand. There's a toolbox nearby along with several logs of wood just lying around. He's busy trying to build a fence for the gardens. What he really wants to do is help the Corgis in what way he can. He spent most of his life growing up in a smaller village so it was necessary for him to learn various tools of the trade.
Beside him there's also a small patch of flowers growing by the soil bed. If you don't look too busy Nier might look over to your direction and start talking more.]
Do you have a moment? I could use some help watering the plants.

Good to see you again, Susato!! There's a lot of work for us to do today. I hope you've been well.
[Nier is trying to walk carefully around the area because there are a bunch of snare traps just lying around. It could be dangerous.]
So someone really did just left a bunch of traps outside. We need to do something about that. I'm going to do my best and see what we can accomplish today.

The Dream board says they are almost impossible to get out of, but if there are innocent animals that are trapped... we have to try.
[ ...A slight hesitation. Even as she says that, she works at a restaurant where a lot of their food is obtained through hunting, so is this... sort of hypocritical of her?
She decides not to ponder on that, if it'll make things easier today. ]

[ Nier pensively looks around like there are so many traps. Will they be able to manage this job alright? Honestly, he's thankful that he can work with Susato on this particular job because he's known her to be incredibly diligent and smart. Her skills are bound to come in handy sooner than later. ]
I'm thinking we might be able to use dreamotion here to make the job easier. Are you comfortable using that yet?
no subject
Yes. I can use fire. [ ...She sounds excited, but delates a moment later. ] Well... I'm not sure comfortable is the word I'd use. I still have a lot to learn, but... I've practicing? We can certainly give it a try.
[ She pauses. ]
Can you use dreamotion, Nier?
no subject
[ Does it sound that strange? What is even considered normal anymore. Nier hasn't really given that much thought. As he stated earlier, his dreamotion abilities are based in darkness. ]
There was a lot of magic back in my world so I just tried to do something similar. You can use fire so that must be amazing!
no subject
I'm-- I'm not that good at it yet. [ Like she said... ] Perhaps you can take the first trap? A demonstration of what you can do with the shadows.
I'm certain I'll be inspired!
no subject
I'll do what I can. Here it goes!
[ Nier actively uses dreamotion abilities to create some dark and shadowy claw. The claw grabs one of the traps and easily removes it. ]
So I tried to recreate something called the Sealed Verse. Back home it's a powerful spell that's actually part of an ancient legend. Can people use magic in your world too?
no subject
No, not at all...
Only in Reverein, I'm afraid. I wonder if I could make a claw like that with my fire?
no subject
[ He nods in approval. That sounds like an excellent idea so he supports it. ]
Find something that works for you and the rest will sort itself out. Dreamotion takes some practice.
no subject
[ Nier doesn't have to tell her twice about how much practice it takes. She sighs. ]
Alright. I will try it on the next trap we find.
no subject
[ Nier thinks of how fires are a great source of warmth and energy. That element suits Susato well from what he knows of her so far. ]
I really hope everything will work out for the best. It's not right that someone left out traps here in the first place.
no subject
As they walk, she spots another trap, this one more well-hidden than the last, buried by the dirt. ]
I almost missed this one. How will we know once we've gotten them all?
no subject
[ Susato must have really good vision to spot something like that. It's extremely well hidden. ]
You've got sharp eyes because you were able to notice that trap. I'm going to have to start looking more closely too.
no subject
[ A quiet sigh. She did say that she would take care of the next one they found, however, so she'll keep her word. She concentrates, trying to imagine a nightmare claw as impressive and mighty as the one she'd just seen, but in the end, a flame about half the size sparks to life. It takes a moment, but it takes shape into what looks like a mere cat's paw instead. Or perhaps a little bunny's . . .
Either way, it is far less impressive, barely singing the spider's threads in the trap as it swipes downwards. Luckily, fire is as destructive as it is gorgeous, so it's enough.
She watches the trap sizzle into ash slowly, rather than being ripped apart. She tried... ]
no subject
Your flames are really special! It looks like you've been practicing a lot with it. Is it hard for you to use? That didn't seem easy to pull off.
[ A decent amount of effort goes into executing dreamotion abilities. Nier's taken notice of it. ]
I know I can't use fire or anything like that.
no subject
It is easier in dreams, I must admit. But I do try to practice when I can, especially in the kitchen at the Wild Harvest.
no subject
[ He takes notice of how Susato looks tired from using dreamotion. ]
If you need a break feel free to rest. Magic can be tiring.
[ He's concerned for Susato more overall. Nier's the kind of person who puts others before himself. ]
no subject
Oh, no. It's much too soon for that. But we can take turns, alright?
That way, neither of us will tire too quickly.
no subject
Is it okay if I think of you as a friend? You've always been so considerate and kind. I can hardly think of you as a stranger.
[He's spoken to Susato a few times and Nier's already met her father in Reverein. Yujin Mikotoba is really nice. ]
no subject
We could stand to get to know each other better, but we're hardly strangers. That's why I was looking forward to spending today with you.
no subject
[ She's always been pleasant to be around and overly earnest. Nier likes talking to her and being friends too. ]
You know speaking of that I believe I've met your father already. His name is Yujin Mikotoba, isn't it?
no subject
That's him, yes. How did you two meet?
[ Did he try to adopt you-- ]
no subject
He was really kind and invited me over to the greenhouse. When we were talking I think he was busy with something important.
A council for order. Would you know anything about that?
[ Nier did speak with Susato's father for some time about law and making guidelines for Reverein. He seemed an equally intelligent man, much like his own daughter Susato. Both of them are really smart. ]
no subject
I do. [ For being 17 years old, she's more familiar with politics than probably most others her age. ] We discussed it as a family a little over a month ago now, over Christmas, when crime was just starting to run rampant.
Unfortunately, we've been rather distracted since, but I am glad he finally found the time to speak up.
no subject
[ Nier just suggested that a little flexibility in the council wouldn't be such a bad idea. Yujin seemed very open to hearing different thoughts. ]
Your dad listened to it all and he's really patient! Is your dad always so approachable and kind? He's a good guy.
no subject
[ Susato chuckles, continuing to look this way and that for more traps, though they seem to have hit a bit of a dry area with nothing to speak off. It's good - no animals being hurt, and they get a little more time to talk. ]
What did you tell him? Do you know anyone who would be fitting for a seat on the council?
