✵ GAME OPENING LOG ✵
Normally our TDMs serve as intro logs, but we have prepared a special character intro log for game opening! It is a massive, chaotic feast that can only be found in a dreamworld like Songerein. You can also use this to continue ongoing TDM threads, especially as it nears captcha. Reminder that any thread from the TDM can be carried over. Players are also welcome to make their own logs for things if they would rather skip this part. Be sure to read the Mod Announcement for other information and you can ask any questions regarding the log here.

I. THE FEAST

As the sleepy looking sun begins to set, the small little tapir fairies will buzz around to find all the new inhabitants and usher them to the plaza. There everyone will find several tables of various lengths, sizes, and shapes. Yes, that is a star shaped table along with a moon one. A special feast has been made just for them to welcome and celebrate their arrival. Some may even recognize decorations: leaves mottled and changing to an assortment of colors, festive streamers, popcorn strings, glittering garlands and bows, string lanterns, and maybe a few small gravestones here and there. Some areas might look a bit brown and withered while some of the trees take on a more cherry blossom look. It's a bit of a strange mashup, and yet the chaos seems to have a sense of harmony as well—especially when considering everything else that the feast has to offer. This is one divine feast that is going to be completely topsy turvy.

A. What's Your Sign? Everyone will find themselves mysteriously "tagged" with a special sticker and will suddenly gain special characteristics based off the animal: ears, tails, behavioral traits. They're mostly mild and to add flavor, but they may also feel different compatibility towards another, such as more attracted or opposed. The sticker will be hard to remove, but it is possible to swap with someone if they want to try a different experience.

B. Special Bowls. There are many tables and anyone can sit wherever they want. Just don't forget to pick up the special dinner bowl already personalized with their name on it. Of course there are some extra paints and decorations that can be added to it if one desires.

C. Wild Food. Every table has the same kind of food, and there is plenty to go around. Of course, that's only if the food can be caught and if one can keep an appetite for some of them. The boar's head is a bit talkative and might settle down if someone stuffs an apple in its mouth or tells it a joke. However, it might just get several laughs by the barrel of monkeys funnel cake nearby, monkey shaped pastries hiding within it to chuck out various candies and fruits. Not even the candy is safe, at least not the stringed ones. Licorice, chocolate coated taffy, and others will start slithering around and even hiss, sometimes wrapping around the arm of those who try to eat them. Playing some music might calm these sweet serpents so they can be eaten properly. How about that special carousel cake stand with the horse cookies prancing about?

D. Spice Up Your Li—Meal. However fear not. There is normal food around so it is possible to have a proper meal. However, some helpful little dragons may fly by to add a few herbs and spices to the dishes. They are quite friendly and will listen to requests, however if one is rude or too demanding, they may just dump a bunch of a hot pepper and other unsavory seasoning instead. Make a good enough impression and they might make house calls, even follow someone home. They live to spice up food, after all.

E. Drink Tea. Although there is an assortment of beverages, the prevalent one will be tea. They are similar to the ones found in the cafe and all will help bring out festive dreams and restful sleep later for everyone. However, someone is clearly making mischief as they have slipped in some rodentia tea. Drinking it will cause the drinker to shrink to the size of a rat. The only way to return to normal is to find the elusive cat cookies, which can be strangely hard to find; they seem to vanish and reappear at random, but only the ones with wide grins and “Eat Me” written on them can be eaten.

II. FUN & GAMES

Perhaps the food isn't up to one's tastes, or they just would rather have some fun. There are a few games around the plaza that everyone is welcome to participate in and they are encouraged to play to their heart's content. Just beware of the geese as they are being a menace not only at the tables but disrupting games as well.

A. Playing Chicken. A simple game, really, one that will test one's creativity and taste buds. There is a goat cheese fondue fountain surrounded with various platters of cooked chicken: grilled, steamed, boiled, baked, fried. This fondue fountain, however, is special. The flavor of the fondue can be altered depending on the kinds of emotions near it. Joy and love make it sugary sweet, anger and jealousy spicy hot, despair and distrust salty sour. And of course everything in-between including a chaotic mix. The challenge is one person will try and alter the flavor of the fondue, lather it on a piece of chicken, and then hand it to their opponent. The chicken must then be consumed. If not, the one who "cooked" it wins. If it is consumed, then the second person can now do the same to the other. This continues until one forfeits. It should be noted that the emotions of the one eating can also affect the fondue. (It is of course possible to take either the fondue or chicken without playing this stomach churning game.)

B. Gravity of Luck. There is a special wheel lottery set on a table decorated with rabbits. In fact there are a lot of rabbits congregating here and would love a few carrots. Anyone is free to spin the wheel one time per round to determine what kind of special "gravity" effect they receive. Each time the wheel is spun, a ball will drop and the color will indicate the type. A gold ball will cause them to lose all sense of gravity, their bodies starting to float away and although they can fly and float around, they'll need help being tethered down. White balls allow them to jump higher, small mushrooms appearing at their feet so others can follow. A black ball will cause them to be stuck in place, even fall flat all the way to the ground and need help standing up. Those imbued with the power of the different balls can help balance each other out until the effect wears off in half an hour.

C. Ox Go-Kart. For those who really want some speed and action, there are ox driven carts stationed by various streets. Two people can partner up with one driving and the other serving to help try to slow the other cart down. In this race, all non-lethal, non-destructive abilities are allowed to try and disrupt the other racer. Perhaps utilizing dreamotion based abilities may fare better. Just beware of other obstacles, especially any random crying dodos that create giant pools of tears as water hazards.

D. Tiger Fishing. There are special colorful ponds filled with sparkly gummy koi fish. At each one there is a little round tiger(?) with a pair of tiger mittens. In the same vein of fish scooping games, players must wear the tiger mittens and catch the gummy fish with them. It won't be easy as the gummy fish are even more slippery than normal. Perhaps some other skills could be used...but the little tiger will be watching and will latch onto anyone's heads who try to cheat. But if caught, they will make for a delectable treat—or interesting pet.

[The feast honestly was a pretty fun-looking time, even if it were a little chaotic. Roxas is just wanting to try all these interesting new foods, so he actually doesn’t notice when the red sticker is put on him.]

[He’s busy looking over some of the offered foods when there’s a sudden pop!, and Roxas jumps. Feels something on his head, and when he lifts his hand it comes in contact with something round and soft. Behind him he feels something swish, and looking he’s met with a long, striped tiger tail.]

What the..??

[It’s as he’s looking over himself he notices the little red tiger sticker stuck to his sleeve. He blinks in surprise, but then when he notices the same thing happening to others, he chuckles, one tiger ear flicking as his tail swishes in amusement behind him.]

Well… at least it’s not something I’m not used to.

Drink Tea
[The tea had smelled real nice, and it looked refreshing! How was he supposed to know that drinking it would cause him to shrink down to such a small size? He had let out a rather undignified yelp as he shrank down, and was suddenly on the table next to his cup, looking up at the sheer giants all around him.]

[But soon enough he hears about the cat cookies, and he’s fortunate enough to find one! But it takes off, and he chases after it, leaping over silverware and around discarded bits of food trying to get it. He calls out to whoever might be nearby to help.]

Hey! Stop that cookie!

[But his voice might be too small to hear, or you might not notice it’s him yelling out until it’s too late.]

Gravity of Luck
[The lottery wheel looked like a lot of fun, and Roxas was curious. So when he was able, he went up to the device and spin the wheel, wanting to see what would happen. The wheel spins, and out pops a gold ball! Roxas brightens when he sees it, but that delight turns to shock when suddenly he begins to float, rising up off the ground.]

W-Woah, hey—! Ah!!

[He flails, trying to grab onto a table or… well, anything to ground him. Maybe help him before he floats away?]

(Now Anya was just minding her business, checking out the game, but she hasn’t decided to spin the wheel when she sees Roxas clinging onto the table while floating in the sky. To say that she is terrified for his life is an the understatement.)

Oh dear! Excuse me, do you need some help getting back to the ground?

(Pooka barks to him to see if he is going to be okay. The poor dog whimpers in concern as well.)

[He's just hanging on as best as he can, so when he sees Anya approaching, he waves frantically to her.]

Y-Yeah! A little help, please!

[It's not his first time suddenly flying, but it's still a shock!]

Maybe I can grab onto your legs to get you back to the ground. Would it that be okay for you?

(She really doesn’t want to hurt Roxas while trying to save him from floating further away from the ground.

Meanwhile, Pooka is barking frantically for help, his ears flapping about in a fast rapid pace..)

[Mirai hadn't come around to trying the tea yet and now she's wondering if she dodged a bullet. She had just been sitting there, taking it all in when she heard the commotion coming from the table and then shouting.]

Huh? Cookie?

[Too late. It already got by while she was busy looking towards him.]

Oh! Uhm... I'm sorry. Here. Let me help. [She'll be more observant now.]

[Oh no, that cheshire cookie is gone! Roxas lets out a defeated sigh, but shakes his head.]

It's okay. But if you see it, can you catch it for me? I wanna get back to my normal size!

[He doesn't like being so small!]

Of course! I'll try to grab the next one I see!

[She would ask if he wanted a lift so he wasn't going to get hurt somehow, but she wasn't sure how to say that. It might be a little weird to mention to a stranger.]

How did you get like that anyway? Was it the tea?

I think you're right. It's the only explanation I could think of too.

[It still didn't explain why he had memories of some places and not of others (like the world Naminé is mentioning, or the world of fairy tales that others had told him about), but it at least made some sense. Maybe he'd have to talk to Sora and the others about it...]

[Speaking of, he nods to her when she mentions Sora and Vanitas.]

Well, I'm not sure the extent of it, but... yeah. Vanitas cares a lot for Sora, and vice versa. But don't tell him I said that.

[They were on good terms, but he had a feeling Vanitas might kick him if he was so open and candid about his relationship to Sora.]

[ Passing him a fleeting smile as he concurs with her, the girl admits, ]

It'll be hard to know for certain, but... with so many people here, maybe we can find out more about what's been happening to everyone else, too.

[ And thereby come to some kind of better understanding. The rules of whatever process is involved are so fuzzy - it unsettles her, not being sure. Even so, it might well turn out that any efforts that direction will be for naught, and Naminé elects to try not to dwell on it for now. ]

... Huh.

[ Although she can't quite settle on how to feel about the situation Roxas describes, she'd very much prefer to think that there was some kind of legitimately positive relationship between the two. That thought gradually draws the smile back to her mouth, and she even manages a faint laugh when she lifts a hand to hold one finger almost against her face. ]

My lips are sealed.

[ Goodness knows the girl can keep a secret. All this talk of relationships, though, brings her to the inevitable question. Her chin tucks subtly, carefully as she asks it, voice lowering slightly, as if to avoid asking a personal question too loudly. ]

What about you and Sora? Have the two of you...

[ She isn't quite sure how to phrase it. 'Made up'? 'Been getting along'? ]

Right.

[The more they understood about this weird place, and about what happened to them, the better.]

Good. I don't think he'll be too mad, but it's probably something you'd better ask him.

[There was definitely some more positive vibes around Roxas's description of Vanitas. He was still blunt, and could be cruel, but he definitely has learned to warm up a little.]

Sora and I? Well, yeah, we're on better terms. After all, he helped me to...

[He trailed, a thought striking him.]

Naminé, what's the last thing you remember? From our time fighting against Xehanort?

Yeah, yeah. Just wait until you go to a world where you get ears and tail, and then see who's snickering.

[He's not actually mad, but being called adorable feels like an insult coming from Vanitas.]

I suppose you're right about that. If only I could, you know, live to visit/i> another world where such a thing could happen.

[ Just saying, you know? Maybe Roxas had forgotten that part? ]

[Ah... right. Living in Aefenglom for a year, t's almost easy to forget that Vanitas's fate is a lot less certain that the rest of theirs. He falls silent for a moment, before looking up at him.]

Well... you never know. You have a connection to us, right? Sometimes, that's all you need.

[Sounds like a plan! He goes over to the beetle, kind of half-offering, half-waving the sap-covered tree bark in the beetle's direction.]

Hey, big guy. Come on, you hungry? Come eat this stuff instead.

[steadypulse]

[He sat back on his heels, even if still squatted down, just to keep an eye on—

Oh, there was a noise at least once the beetle caught movement. Listing a little from just being flat down and moved closer towards Roxas with that same strange noise. It sounded so different since 76 knew beetles made noise but this was just- bigger.]

Set a bit down, just so it can get a taste of what you're offering.

[Roxas frowns, shaking his head.]

Well, I don't think it's a silly thing. Just because they're different doesn't mean they're any different, right?

[That makes him think of himself as a Nobody, and not quite human. That didn't mean his heart was any different from anyone else's, right?]

I don't think you're wrong to think that.

( He can feel himself relax then, offering a smile at his words. )

... Yeah, you're right. Every living thing has feelings... just like we do.

( It's... nice to meet someone who understands. )

[As soon as he sees what's going on with the troubled teen, Steve jumps on a nearby chair, wobbling only slightly as he manages to keep his balance. That was a close one! These things aren't the easiest for him, but like hell he's gonna give up right away.]

Grab my hand!

[He reaches as hard as he can towards Roxas, stretching his arm in his direction. If this doesn't work, well, he's gonna have to gone to Plan B. And Plan B will involve him being more creative.]

[Roxas has been in a world where he could fly before, but it was a voluntary practice. This was completely new for him, so he was flailing a little bit because no gravity, help.]

[But when he hears that yell, he looks up at the man and stretches out to reach him. He flails around a little, but he does manage to grab the man's hand!]

I got you!

[He's got an anchor! For now.]

Drink Tea

[Youngsters would never learn apparently. He imagined it was the fact that they thought mostly with their stomachs at that age... or something else, but he was going to stick with food for this round of adventure. He made it a point to never eat food or drink at festivities; he had learned his lesson many years ago.

However, that didn't mean he wasn't going to enjoy the suffering of others who were not bright enough to realize the hazards. He had seen many people drinking from cups and then shrinking down - of course - and their desperate search for a cure was exasperating.

Run away cookies were the least of one's worry though. He didn't even bother to help but instead to reached down to pick up the back of this one's jacket between his claws and lifted the kid up.]

Well, well, well... you're quite the shrimp What are you doing playing a game of cat and mouse, boy?

[Roxas was not expecting to be suddenly picked up, and his limbs flail a bit as he suddenly felt the lack of gravity. He looks up to see who it was, jolting in surprise at that frightening-looking mask. Who the heck was this??]

[He shakes his head after a moment of staring, trying to squirm.]

Hey! Put me down!!

[Roxas was also expecting to be smacked by the tree's roots, and he lifts his arms up in defence... but nope, he's just patted very gently.]

Huh..?

[He looks up at the tree, then at Kor. Then, back to the tree.]

Uh... I guess it likes us now?

[He looks up at the tree and how it seems so different now. But... Maybe it wasn't so different. Maybe they just... misunderstood?]

You weren't trying to actually hurt me at all, were you?

[There's a pause, and then the tree seems to shake some of its branches up and dowh.]

I guess that's a yes?
