[It's hot. There's more to the day, yes, but it's hot. That's all Wanderer really cares about, especially since it's so hot his flying kitten is still asleep in his house and not perched on his hat.

Wanderer really, really hates the heat. He hates the cold too, but for some reason the heat is making him cranky. Why couldn't his creator have thought to put in a cooling system of some sort? No, he doesn't want to sweat, but it would be nice to be able to be cool in this gross heat!

He's sitting under a tree by the lake, trying to cool off and debating if he really wants to stick his feet in the lake. It's tempting.]

[Okay so sometimes the ace detective doesn't know everything. And now he's kind of embarrassed. Don't look too closely at him, his cheeks are definitely not turning pink!!]

[Heizou coughs. Clears his throat. And then he nods with a smile. Successfully recomposed! YOU SAW NOTHING, WANDERER.]

Right! I suppose that means we should go pay for everything. [So to speak.

He is gathering up that pile of clothes and hurrying back over to one of the employees! Time to barter and haggle over everything~]

[Wanderer hangs back to finish getting into his other clothes while Heizou haggles. He comes out of the changing room just in time to hear:]

--you two were so cute buying clothes on a date! That's more than enough compensation!

[And unfortunately for Wanderer... Heizou is happy to play right along~]

Oh my, are you sure~? You've been so kind to help us out with all of this! I honestly can't thank you enough!

[He does glance over in Wanderer's direction, giving him a playful wink. Is that a blush across his face, though? Nah, you must be imagining that.]

[Wanderer is not looking. Wanderer has tugged his hat down and is avoiding looking at anyone at all ever.]

Are we done?

[Heizou chuckles softly.]

We are! Thank you for being such a good sport, my dear Wanderer~

[And before he can react or object, Heizou leans in and plants a little kiss on his cheek - just for show! - before grabbing the bag of clothes and heading out.]

[Wanderer stands there a minute, stunned, before stalking out after Heizou.]

[Heizou smiles cheekily, handing the bag of clothes over now that they're not in the shop.]

They thought we were dating! How could I let us leave without giving them something cute to remember us by~?

[He looks over with the most innocent eyes in the world!]

Annoyed by your presence, maybe. [And yet here he is, still walking with Heizou.] I'm not dating anyone.

[And there's that mischievous little smirk, falling right back into place.]

I suppose that's true. So far, at least~

Well, how long do you and Venti plan to keep your... situationship so undefined?

[Another quirk of his eyebrow.]

Somehow I don't think Venti's the one who's hesitant to put a label on it.

He hasn't shown any inclination to put a label on it.

[That makes his eyebrows arch up. Maybe it's because Venti's just such an open, free spirit he doesn't feel any need for labels? That would certainly explain... a few things.]

Do you want him to?

I don't think he would, even if I did.

[Heizou sighs a little and stops, hands on his hips and actually looking a little stern.]

I don't see why it matters if I do or not.

[Because Venti isn't going to be around forever, so why label something fleeting?]

[For a moment there he just... looks at Wanderer. Doing his studying thing again. Analyzing every little miniscule movement. These ageless beings are really on a whole other level of Closed Off.]
